Race 1 - $12,500 Claiming
(2) MASTER THE VIEW parlayed a perfect trip into an upset win two back, finally making some money for his owners after dipping in for $25K, and he rallied for a small check last week from a tough spot; post relief should help immensely here and that 10/1 morning line is enticing. (1) BETTOR ROCK ON N returns locally now at the basement claiming level and he figures to have some life left in those legs to make an impact. (4) HAYDENS LITTLE MAN shows up for work every week as he makes his 82nd start over the last two seasons, and he does already have nine seasonal wins to his credit. (6) ALBERT A SCOOTIN was hounded practically every step last week upon arrival and understandably tired; price will be much better tonight if you want to give him another swing.
Race 2 – NW10000 in last 5 starts
(6) ADAGIO DE LA TOUR had just an impossible trip last week as he was hindered by an early breaker and got parked the duration; price should be good from this spot and Bartlett sticks with him. (2) LADY EAGLE was boxed in all the way last out; threat with smooth sailing. (3) CHERRY PEEP gets class relief, perhaps she can show more. (1) CRAZYCAT had no excuse last week; use caution.
Race 3 – F&M NW5000 in last 5 starts
Interesting race with multiple shippers…(3) FRANSCHOEK arrives from Mohawk Park where she was likely facing better with moderate success and she was Bartlett’s choice for the Blackler barn. (5) DELILAH DE VIE and (1) LUSTY DELIGHT arrive from Tioga and both look like potential good fits here. (8) COFFEE’S READY was awful last week but she moves to the Marino barn via claim; huge price to throw in underneath?
Race 4 - $20,000 Claiming
(5) JK HEAVEN SENT never got involved from post eight last week after being reclaimed by DiDomenico; expect much more involvement tonight. (6) MATT MAJOR was hinting at a big effort and finally put it all together last out; Banca trainee should be a player again. (3) TRIPLE SEELSTER moved back to the Temming barn and put in a nice two-move effort; he’s another one here with a legit chance. (2) OWN IT flew home once shaking free last week; erratic sort is capable with the right trip.
Race 5 – NW7500 in last 5 starts
(3) DARK POOL hails from a low-percentage barn but he’s been facing better in all recent and he does seem to have some early speed in his arsenal; trotter will offer the best price of the contenders. (4) KINDA LUCKY LINDY ships in for live connections and looks like a good fit. (1) LAZARUS returns locally for DiDomenico, draws best and has had success here in the past. (5) DIRTY SECRET was second best here two back.
Race 6 – NW5000 in last 5 starts
(6) GALACTIC GALLEON N is one of many hard-knocking Vallee veterans who don’t win often but always pay their way; he’s hard to pass on at this bottom level. (7) SPORTSMANSHIP returns from Pennsylvania without much current form but he’s raced well here in the past, was Holland’s choice and figures to offer a juicy price. (4) I’LL CALL YOU LATER gets needed class and post relief. (2) OVER FRISKIE arrives from the Midwest for Ohio regular JD Wengard, who also does the driving; interesting.
Race 7 – F&M NW10000 in last 5 starts
(3) SUE’S NIGHT OUT was a solid off-the-pace winner from a similar spot three back and the Surick trainee should offer fair value in this competitive event. (1) CLASSY CHAPEL N was second best last start and has speed from the best post. (6) LA ALWAYS AMARTINI continues to draw poorly but the mare fits with this type and can be considered. (5) QUITE A DELIGHT N was beyond disappointing last out; who knows what to expect.
Race 8 – NW7500 in last 5 starts
(2) BARIMAH A hasn’t been much of a player recently from tough spots versus better and he hails from a currently struggling barn but this veteran is capable of much better and would be no real surprise here. (9) BRO HANOVER tumbles from claimers in his third start for DiDomenico and he looms a solid player here despite the tricky post. (1) POLAK A seems to still have some life left in those classy legs. (4) LETTUCERIPRITA lands a good starting spot and could be an early player.
Race 9 – F&M NW7000 in last 5 starts
(1) MARVALOUS JET returns from Tioga, lands the best post and did win a couple of races here last year; mare looks to have as good a chance as any in here. (2) SHUTTHEFRONTDOOR also arrives from upstate and gets a nice driver change to Bartlett. (5) ACEFOURTYFOUR ALEX doesn’t win all that often but does get needed class relief. (8) CERTIFIED IDEAL is up in class and draws poorly again but she fits with these and will offer a big price.
Race 10 – F&M NW7500 in last 5 starts
(7) NEON SKY N was a confident off-the-pace winner last week versus lesser and she’s been competitive with better than these in the past; post presents a problem but she’s worth a long look if the price is right. (2) CHERRY BLISS has been okay in her last couple and the mare will the close up throughout. (1) FIRSTUP is up in class looking for two straight. (4) PITTSTOP DANIKA tries Bartlett tonight; small piece?
Race 11 – NW10000 in last 5 starts
(1) CAMPBELLINI has good speed, the best post, Bartlett driving and he likes to win; wire-to-wire candidate. (4) DRAGIN THE WAGON is another Tioga shipper on tonight’s card who looks like he can fit in well here; worth a look. (2) ANNAPOLIS HALL was a winner when last at this level but he loses Stratton to a Tritton trainee. (6) BINGO QUEEN was very sharp last week, even showing some early speed; you can never count this classy mare out.
Race 12 – NW7500 in last 5 starts
(4) DRINKA BEER debuts for Garcia-Herrera off the claim and he fits this lower-conditioned level; 4-year-old has shown some good recent early speed. (1) GOTTA GO B B may be lacking a bit in the class department but he’s got speed from the best post. (2) ZACH MAGUIRE N raced very well last out with Troy Beyer and he drops another notch in class tonight. (8) FIREBALL plunges from the $40K claimers but is stuck in post eight; better post would have made him an obvious player.
