Yonkers: Thursday 9/6 Analysis

Matt Rose|Sep 04, 2018
Yonkers logo

Best Bet: HI HO STEVERINO (1st)

Spot Play: PITTSTOP DANIKA (3rd)

MEET STATS: 368 - 1019 / $2,031.90

BEST BETS: 50 - 87 / $166.30

Race 1

(6) HI HO STEVERINO was going to be the heavy favorite versus similar last week but they cancelled the remainder of the card; veteran should head to the front and can control these. (1) MR MATCH ON BEACH is better then he's been showing; rail spot helps. (2) CADILLAC PHIL gets some post relief and hails from live connections but he hasn't been all that sharp recently.

Race 2

(3) ALWAYS A VISION never got involved last week but she moves inside and is reunited with Bartlett. (4) THANK THE BANK didn't really fire last out but she's capable of much better, as evidenced by prior efforts. (2) BELLA RAGAZA dead-heated with the top choice last out after digging in pretty stubbornly on the front end.

Race 3

(3) PITTSTOP DANIKA has been pretty good since returning but really had no chance in her last couple; with smoother sailing from this spot she appears capable. (2) CHERRY BLISS is usually close up but rarely wins; tough to take on top at a short price. (4) JOHN'S ONE DESIRE shipped in last week and closed willingly at a big price.

Race 4

(7) MAJORETTE ANGIE raced pretty well last week in the Lady Maud and she could be trouble here if she can find a way into the race. (5) KJ'S JUSTINE is sharp, logical stock from Linda Toscano. (3) BETTERTHANBRIE was seen recently in NYSS action and anything from Takter has to be respected.

Race 5

(4) BETTOR REASON N has never been the most reliable horse out there but I'll give him a stab here with the post improvement. (1) BEAST MODE dropped to this level, took all the money and bobbled turning home which may or may not have cost him; another chance from the best post. (5) SHOW THE FASHION plunges in class in his second start off the DiDomenico claim but he hasn't been especially sharp.

Race 6

(2) BULLVILLE KYLE doesn't win as often as he should be he always deserves top billing from spots such as this. (3) ROOSTER RABBIT isn't all that special but there really isn't much else in here to like. (7) TWIN B IMPRESSIVE is a shell of his former self yet still must be considered here on class alone.

Race 7

(3) TRIPLE SEELSTER hiked to this level last week and remained sharp in a good try; worth following. (2) GYPSY LEATHER returns locally and has had plenty of success here in the past. (8) DEDI'S DRAGON is certainly a player here but is stuck outside; I'll assume if Sears puts his him in play early there will be a tuck waiting somewhere.

Race 8

(5) CHECKERED PAST seems the most consistent of these and she did race well here earlier in the year. (2) BEACHIN N KISSIN gets a class test but has been razor sharp and was Bartlett's choice. (1) LINE DANCER has good speed from the best post.

Race 9

(2) SOLITARY put in a big late effort to make it close a few days ago in the Lady Maud and she deserves top billing off that effort. (1) BELIEVE IN ME didn't show much in NYSS events but she did race well here in the Lismore. (3) MINK PINK steps up from the Excelsior; is it too much to ask of her?

Race 10

(2) WISDOM TREE has been rock-solid this season and from this spot she figures to have the tactical edge on her main competition. (1) JEWELS FORREAL lost some momentum as a rival pulled in front of her going to three quarters in the Lady Maud and that may have cost her; give that some consideration. (3) ALEXIS FAITH was that aforementioned rival who did get the job done at 1/5, but not that impressively.

Race 11

(2) CERTIFIED IDEAL is far from a cinch but the mare should get the job done from this spot. (6) ROYAL KNOCKOUT rarely wins but she fits with this type and could spice up the exotics. (1) ROCKLINDAROCK comes in from Philly, draws best and picks up Bartlett.

Race 12

(4) FREAKONOMICS does take a needed drop in class and deserves the top spot but don't take too shot a price on her. (5) JAG OUT has loads of back class and will awaken eventually. (3) SWEET YOU has been racing well and can round out the bottom of the ticket.
