Yonkers: Thursday 9/5 Analysis

2019 STATS: 392 - 942 / $1,772.30 (-$111.70)
BEST BETS: 47 - 80 / $141.40 (-$18.60)
Best Bet: QUINCY BLUE CHIP (4th)
Spot Play: ARMAGEDDON SEELSTER (11th)
Race 7 - $10,000 Guaranteed Pick-5 Pool
Race 1 - $12,500 Claiming
(2) WILD WEST has been razor-sharp and stays at the same level off the Allard claim; gelding can take his third straight. (1) LET’S FOAL AROUND has hit the board in his last four tries and has speed from the best post. (5) TJ BLAST alarmingly drops in for the basement claiming tag in his local return off a lively qualifier; I wouldn’t have much confidence backing him here. (4) MACHLICIOUS drops back down off two failed tries versus $20K types.
Race 2 – NW2 or $25,000 lifetime
(2) ALTERNATIVE FACT cruised on the front end last week for Schnittker and he lands in a good spot to double up. (4) BLUTO’S DIAMOND was an upset winner upon arrival then was lost at the back of the pack when he broke last out; he moves back inside and can be more involved. (6) CLASSY GUY gets Goodell in the bike tonight subbing for Bongiorno and this trotter has good early speed. (7) ALWAYS A DREAM arrives from Ohio and joins the DiDomenico barn; obviously he’s worth a peek.
Race 3 – Excelsior A – 3YO Filly Trot
(6) EV’S GIRL is stuck all the way outside but she cruised here earlier this season and Bartlett will have her on the move early. (1A) HANNA DREAMGIRL has certainly had a useful season for the Ducharme barn and rates highly here with her entrymate, although she did break in her last start. (5) QISS ME BLUE CHIP returns locally for Team Zeron and has been very sharp recently. (3) HOTFOOT HANNAH seems to get along well with her pilot Alek Chartrand, who is in from Saratoga to drive.
Race 4 – NYSS – 3YO Filly Trot
(2) QUINCY BLUE CHIP is right back in the box after getting nipped in the Hudson Trot last Saturday night and she can redeem herself if well-behaved. (1) SENSIBILITY has been consistent all season and is in line to complete a chalky exacta. (4) PILGRIMS LASS adds hobbles and could show improvement.
Race 5 - NYSS – 3YO Filly Trot
(5) WINNDEVIE is clearly the most accomplished trotter in here and the Smedshammer trainee should be good enough to overcome the outermost post. (1) SWEET CHAPTER was a Hambo Oaks finalist (though a tad overmatched) and the Blake Macintosh trainee should be in line for good trip close-up. (2) WITHOUT A DOUBT jogged in an overnight event here a couple of months ago and she’s picked up small shares in NYSS action for Erv Miller.
Race 6 - $15,000/$20,000 Claiming
(4) REACH FOR INFINITY drops in for a tag off a solid uncovered effort last out and he lands a slight post edge on some of his main rivals. (7) DEERFIELD BEACH totally turned it around with his 38/1 score where he looked more like a 3/5 shot last out and he may offer a decent price again from the poor post. (5) TWIN B IMPRESSIVE doesn’t win all that often anymore but he’s been a pretty serviceable mid-level claimer recently. (6) OUR DRAGON KING goes for Allard via claim off a race where he didn’t fire at all.
Race 7 – NW4 or $50,000 lifetime
(4) CHIP CHIP CONWAY exits NYSS action and finds a pretty soft overnight field; Bartlett’s back driving and could be aggressive early from this spot. (5) COTTON TO YOU has been handled well by Lachance and he’ll be on the move late. (1) THE RAVE has speed from the best post but needs to show more late. (7) MASSIVE VODKA was an easy winner versus this type two back.
Race 8 – NW4 or $50,000 lifetime
(1) TOPSPIN S almost got it done last week as my top choice at 20/1; price obviously goes down tonight but he looms large from this spot. (4) BRADY BUNCH was a dead-game winner last out, beating a rival who came back to jog. (3) SHAMROCK SHAKER broke early last week and never entered contention but his prior three starts upon arrival from Canada were solid. (5) SWAN IN THE VALLEY appears off her game but the Allard trainee should be capable of better.
Race 9 - F&M NW5000 in last 5 starts
(4) SHADY STELLA obviously loved live in the Banca barn as she totally turned it around last week and she shays in for the same price; likely repeater at a short mutuel. (3) CERTIFIED IDEAL drops to a new low and HAS to be better than this. (7) MELANIE'S FILLY is post-compromised but doesn't have to do much here to beat the rest. (1) MISCHIEVIOUSGIRLS draws best and can pick up the pieces.
Race 10 - NW6 or $75,000 lifetime
(3) CHAPTER FASHION does show a couple of recent wins in overnight action and he now moves to the Garcia-Herrera barn via purchase; 3-year-old may be good enough here in a field with no standouts. (2) J S PEYTON ships from Saratoga to face better off a pair of sizzling front-end scores. (7) ALEXANDRIA HANOVER has been a solid money-earner and Brennan will be on the march early with the mare. (5) HORNS FOR THREE does have a third place finish in a NYSS event here a few starts ago.
Race 11 - NW8 or $100,000 lifetime
(5) ARMAGEDDON SEELSTER has done absolutely nothing wrong in his last three local starts, including a second-place finish from the eight hole last week at 75/1; Coyne trainee looks as good as any in here. (2) MAGIC MVP was used in the early stages last out and wilted late but otherwise his form has been solid. (4) FASHION FOREVER should be closing ground late assuming a sensible steer by Steve Smith. (7) CRUISING IN STYLE is stuck outside again but has the speed to overcome; he’s a threat if not used too hard early.
Race 12 – F&M NW10000 in last 5 starts
(2) LOVINEVERYMINUTE faltered late on the front end last out but she is talented enough to bounce back with a front-end score tonight. (3) BIRCH ISLAND BETTY wasn’t pretty but got the job done last week at 3/5; DiDomenico trainee can obviously repeat. (6) SCWARTZ BROS BEATY couldn’t reach the front in last and couldn’t hack an uncovered trip at her insane 2/5 odds; much better price tonight if you stick with her. Looks like a crapshoot for the rest.
