Yonkers: Thursday 9/28 Analysis

Matt Rose|Sep 26, 2017

Best Bet: ANALYZE (5th)

Spot Play: SOUTH SIDE HANOVER (11th)

MEET STATS: 371 - 1057 / $2,015.50

BEST BETS: 53 - 90 / $171.90

Race 1

(4) QUICK ART raced a bit better last week and he gets to drop in class again tonight; gelding does have sharp early speed at his disposal. (1) BRUNELLO N gets class and post relief and is clearly the one to beat from this spot. (6) RU READY TO ROCK returns from The Meadowlands off a good effort and he does have back class to call upon.

Race 2

(7) A NASHTY BUSINESS ships from Canada to join a new barn and he recently had two blowout wins over the half mile; veteran can fit well here. (6) O U SEXY GUY has been awful recently but note the barn change here to DiDomenico. (3) EPIC RANGER was a winner here at this level a couple of months ago; Bartlett drives.

Race 3

(2) IAMMRBRIGHTSIDE N came home with pace while having no chance last out at The Big M and he gets needed class and post relief while adding Bartlett. (3) DAY TRADE HANOVER finished willingly from a tough spot with fresh Lasix added and he can be more involved tonight. (1) LYONS AGAIN had nothing to offer last week when moved to the rim but he should be in line for a smoother trip tonight.

Race 4

(5) AWOL HANOVER has held his own recently versus stakes competition and hails from good trotting connections but he broke when last at Yonkers; use caution. (4) SIR JOHN F should be on the move early from this spot and it's hard to ignore anything from the Takter barn. (2) LOOKINGFORAMIRACLE does have a post edge on her main rivals and the filly is certainly in with a chance.

Race 5

(3) ANALYZE was a good second to a sharp rival last week and seems ready to resume winning ways for Team Buter. (2) PRETTY REAL DESIRE never got involved when hiked to this level but the post relief certainly helps. (6) BEST OF JENNA was sent down the road in her local debut but could not withstand the pressure; maybe off-the-pace tactics should be tried tonight.

Race 6

(1) ASHOK ACE blasted down the road last out versus similar and will likely be favored to repeat; the Lance Hudson barn has been going well of late. (2) HOOVES ON FIRST never got involved last week but should be much closer tonight. (4) GRACIE'S PARADE had little when hiked in class off the claim but she drops back to the appropriate level.

Race 7

(2) BONFIRE BLISS folded badly on the front end last out but his prior efforts were good and he meets a pretty soft field tonight. (7) TEMPSTER HANOVER seems a touch erratic but he was going well late off the Blumenfeld claim to be second best last week and he gets no respect on the morning line; consider if the price is right. (3) HUGH HEFNER N has shown nothing recently but maybe Bartlett wakes him up.

Race 8

(5) LITTLE JOKE loses Bartlett, who isn't driving the Banca horses anymore for some reason, but she finds a worthy replacement in Holland and has jogged in two of her last three. (7) DILLY DALI dropped to this level and was second best to the top choice last week completing a chalky exacta; second best again? (6) GLAMORGAL is clearly better from off the pace and she should be motoring late.

Race 9

(1) WRAPPED TO GO returns locally, now with Team Bongiorno, and she may look to take this field the distance. (2) SWEET BET is getting some relief and is probably the one to beat. (3) SHE SAID has been a steady performer all season at this level.

Race 10

(3) KINGS BARNS has been knocking on the door for some time now and seems to be just a smooth trip away from victory. (4) GOLDEN GESTURE has been in reasonably good shape for an extended period of time now. (2) A BETTOR HAT had no real excuse last week but he should be in line for another live trip tonight; perhaps he has more to offer late.

Race 11

(3) SOUTH SIDE HANOVER has been making live moves and now gets a big driver upgrade to Brennan. (1) HILARIOUS HALO raced well from the eight hole last week at big odds and now he moves all the way inside. (7) LIMERENCE has been sharp for Svanstedt and Marohn should be on the move early.

Race 12

(5) BEACH BOOGIE is beyond sharp right now and the 3-year-old may be good enough to handle his elders. (1) STONEBRIDGE TONIC isn't what he used to be but the veteran should still be a live player from the rail. (7) FRANKANDJOANNE gave way on the front end upon arrival; he'll be coming from the off the pace tonight and should be a big price; consider for a share.
