Yonkers: Thursday 9/26 Analysis

Matt Rose|Sep 24, 2019
Yonkers Logo 1.5

2019 STATS: 418 - 1002 / $1,872.80 (-$131.20)
BEST BETS: 49 - 85 / $150.30 (-$19.70)
Best Bet:
REGGIANO (7th)
Spot Play: BETTOR’S PROMISE (9th)
Race 7 - $10,000 Guaranteed Pick-5 Pool
Race 1 - $12,500/$15,000 Claiming

(7) BROOKIES PRINCE N goes for yet another new barn off the Banca claim looking for his 11th straight win and despite landing all the way outside in this handicap race I don’t see anything standing in his way. (5) SERIOUS MAJOR was reclaimed by Surick and he does get a bit of post relief; his last few efforts have been sneaky good. (2) TWOMACSONESHADOW was a decent second last week and should be close-up again. (6) MACHLICIOUS goes for Garcia-Herrera now off the claim and has been good recently.
Race 2 – NW2 or $25,000 lifetime
(2) FRONTIER CREEDA was a solid second last week at ridiculous overlay odds; price obviously goes down tonight but she’s a legit threat to take these wire-to-wire. (3) AVALONIA wasn’t all that impressive in local starts here last month but that was a good try in the NYSS consolation at Vernon and she can build off that effort; Bartlett drives. (7) SKYWAY KON MAN seems to be a major player for Smedshammer despite the post. Looks like a crapshoot for the rest.
Race 3 - $15,000/$20,000 Claiming
(3) BIG TURN ON seems to be a decent fit with these and he lands the best possible post here entered for the $20K tag in this handicap race; versatile veteran has as good a chance as any and should offer decent value. (2) MACH ONE finished with good late interest in his local return and this barn has sent out some live ones recently. (5) PROLOGUE was last seen here in the Sagamore where he raced well and he returns for Allard off a front-end win at Saratoga. (4) CHEYENNE REIJANE drops in for a tag and while he’s still shut out on the season he can pick up a nice piece of this.
Race 4 – NW4 or $50,000 lifetime
(3) WITH OUT A DOUBT picked up a check in the NYSS Final and the filly jogged in an overnight event here a couple of months ago; top billing. (4) FAVORITE UNCLE is a very interesting Ohio shipper for Virgil Morgan, Jr. and the connections obviously think he’ll be a good fit here. (6) SHAMROCK SHAKER behaved herself with the hobbles added and she raced okay; board threat. (8) WISHYOU’DTELLME has obvious talent for co-owner Joe Bongiorno but this is a tough spot.
Race 5 – F&M NW5000 in last 5 starts
(2) VH PRINCESS BREA is fresh stock for DiDomenico shipping in and she picks up Brennan; this angle always deserves respect. (6) SHADY STELLA didn’t get going until way too late last week; mare switches back to Bartlett. (4) DEWAR N SODA enjoyed a live trip last out and did finally show some signs of life; maybe she can build off that effort. (1) BOOTS OFF can save ground and land a minor award.
Race 6 – NW4 or $50,000 lifetime
(1) TURVILLE HANOVER will no doubt attract plenty of attention off that willing finish last week upon arrival for Jeff Gregory. (4) LIGHTFOOTEDLEGEND came out of the same race as the top choice and had no chance reaching from post eight; Erv Miller trainee will be more involved tonight. (2) SWAN IN THE VALLEY has looked a bit better recently for Allard and the filly could be a speed threat from this spot. (8) CLASSY GUY easily disposed of lesser and the Team Bongiorno charge will likely be on the move early from the worst post.
Race 7 – NW5000 in last 5 starts
(1) REGGIANO looked like a different horse two back then followed that up with an even effort from a tough spot last week; gelding gets much-needed post relief and should be good to go from this spot. (2) THROWNOUTOFBETTER arrives locally now in the Jenn Bongiorno barn; instant respect. (3) THIRTY TWO RED has done absolutely nothing of note for the Schnittker barn but he keeps going out there every week; getting Stratton in the bike helps. (7) JOHN DALLY does fit okay at this NW5000 level and perhaps he can pick off the rest.
Race 8 – F&M NW10000 in last 5 starts
(1) AMANDEROSA has plenty of local experience and maybe the change of venue wakes her up; having the best post with Bartlett doesn’t hurt. (5) FAMILY ROLL CALL broke starting last week but prior efforts were ok; the Mark Ford barn is having an alarmingly bad year so use caution. (8) SUDDEN CHANGE N failed as the odds-on favorite on the switch to the DiDomenico barn and now she’s all the way outside but still has to be considered. (2) WISHY WASHY GIRL has fallen on hard times but she does have plenty of back class.
Race 9 – NW10000 in last 5 starts
(4) BETTOR’S PROMISE has raced well in two starts since returning from Minnesota and the veteran has some tactical speed; he can be right there at a decent price with a smooth trip. (2) NASCAR SEELSTER invades for the Cullipher barn and they’ve had some success with these shippers; Bartlett drives. (5) DECISION DAY gets some needed class relief. (7) OUR ZAK WHITBY A didn’t win in two recent starts at Freehold but they were good efforts and he may have regained some confidence; don’t ignore.
Race 10 – NW6 or $75,000 lifetime
In a very competitive event, (6) ARABELLA’S CADET broke last week when getting underway as the odds-on favorite, ending her winning streak; Hudson trainee could be at a tactical disadvantage again with her lack of early speed but the price will be much better tonight and she’s more than capable with a good trip. (8) BRADY BUNCH is stuck outside but has the early speed to fire out and make the front. (3) LOLLIPOP LINDY has outraced her odds on a number of occasions this year and will be a good price again. (1) TRAVEL WINNER ended his NYSS run finishing last in the final from a no-chance spot; Nifty Norman trainee lands the best post tonight.
Race 11 – NW15000 in last 5 starts
(4) SOMEWHERE IN L A isn’t the most reliable sort anymore but it’s tough to pass on the millionaire at this level. (3) LOCKTON LUCK A was just a bit short last week and landing inside the top choice will help. (2) SOHO LENNON A needed last week’s start, a game win at Freehold, and the Dilloian trainee looks like a player here. (1) KILLER MARTINI was Brennan’s choice of four in here but he’s a little inconsistent for my tastes.
