Yonkers: Thursday 9/19 Analysis

Matt Rose|Sep 17, 2019
Yonkers Logo 1.5

2019 STATS: 411 - 978 / $1,848.50 (-$107.50)
BEST BETS: 48 - 83 / $147.80 (-$18.20)
Best Bet:
SUDDEN CHANGE N (9th)
Spot Play: QUITE A DELIGHT N (7th)
Race 7 - $10,000 Guaranteed Pick-5 Pool
Race 1 - $12,500 Claiming

(4) MARTIAL BLISS hasn't done much for his new barn and now he drops below the level of the claim but he meets a very questionable field here and he did flash speed two back. (1) TWOMACSONESHADOW wasn't awful in his local return and despite being shut out on the season and hailing from a low-percentage barn he seems to have a chance from this spot. (5) TJ BLAST has been a massive disappointment this year and now he loses Bartlett; I'll let him beat me. (6) MORE DRAGON is erratic but could be a closing threat.
Race 2 - NW2 or $20,000 lifetime
(2) GALIXTON has been a very minor stakes player for Svanstedt and he does have a post edge on his main (and speedy) rivals; 3-year-old gets a weak call here. (4) CLASSY GUY has hit the ticket in all recent efforts and figures to do so again. (7) CISCO PAL won upon arrival from Indiana and the Erv Miller trainee can double up. (8) FRONTIER CREEDA broke last week but was consistent in prior starts for DiDomenico; we'll see if Brennan tries to leave to see what happens.
Race 3 - $15,000/$20,000 Claiming
(6) ER ROCK MY WORLD has raced very well here in the past versus similar and he's been caught up in some quick miles recently in Pennsylvania; I'll give him a look at what figures to be a nice price. (1) BROOKIES PRINCE N is finally up a notch in class off the Robertson reclaim; can he keep his impressive win streak alive? (2) REACH FOR INFINITY goes for Allard now off the claim and he has a big chance, especially if he can set up a nice stalking trip behind the favorite. (7) DENVER SEELSTER has been sharp since returning locally; problem here is the post.
Race 4 - NW4 or $50,000 lifetime
(4) SHEENA'S BOY kept up with Gimpanzee for a long way before weakening and breaking in the Yonkers Trot; Svanstedt trainee looks tough here. (3) WARRIOR ONE has been right there in all local starts and seems like the main threat to the top one. (7) HATIKVAH has some talent for the Melanders; tough to say what sort of trip he's in for from this tough post. (5) FULL RIGHTS picks up Stratton and could be best of the rest.
Race 5 – F&M NW5000 in last 5 starts
(1) KEYSTONE NIKKI ships in for Garcia-Herrera off a qualifier that if replicated would probably be enough to win this. (5) SHADY STELLA goes for another new barn off the claim, stays at the proper level and is an obvious threat to take this. (3) EDEN PAIGE N looks like she found her stride down at Freehold and the veteran mare has proven in the past that she fits with this type. (7) MELANIE’S FILLY is saddled with the worst draw which compromises her chances but she would be no real surprise with a live trip.
Race 6 – NW4 or $50,000 lifetime
(5) SHAMROCK SHAKER blew up in her last two tries here but qualified back effectively with the hobbles added, always a big angle. (4) EVIE HANOVER wasn’t bad last week at a price and this looks like a good spot to put her early speed into play. (1) PHOTO BOMBER has some speed, the best draw and behaves himself for Tony Schadel; those variables should land him a nice share. (2) STATE OFMYHEAD AS closed belatedly last out and now moves inside for good trotting connections,
Race 7 – F&M NW10000 in last 5 starts
(7) QUITE A DELIGHT N hasn’t been as successful as some of this barn’s other imports but she gets needed class relief tonight and it wouldn’t shock me to see Brennan trying to get her in play early. (3) ROLLING GOING GONE steps up in class off a sharp uncovered score and seems like a threat here. (2) AMATEUR HOUR is one of many classy veterans from this barn who have been underachieving; maybe the switch to Holland helps. (1) CLASSY CHAPEL N raced well in her last two at prices; value won’t be there tonight, however.
Race 8 – NW8 or $100,000 lifetime
(6) ARABELLA’S CADET is a perfect 3 for 3 since shipping in to join the Lance Hudson barn; lack of early speed may hurt her chances but if Stratton can get her close enough she’ll charge by late. (2) MASSIVE VODKA steps up off a nice front-end score with Holland and he’ll be close up throughout. (4) SMOKEE MIRRORS has hit the board in his last four and can add some value underneath. (8) ALEXANDRIA HANOVER would be rated much higher here if not for the post.
Race 9 – F&M NW10000 in last 5 starts
(5) SUDDEN CHANGE N moves to the DiDomenico barn via private purchase and she’s eligible to wake up in a hurry. (3) ANN HILL missed a nose in her last two and should be right there again at the wire. (4) LYONS JENNIELEE stormed home for the upset last week and Stratton drives again for his brother; mare is the other obvious contender here. (1) PITTSTOP DANIKA can hold off the rest from this spot.
Race 10 – NW10000 in last 5 starts
(4) MISTER DAYTONA N finally put it together last week and was a game front-end winner; Mike Simons trainee has plenty of class and is good enough to go back-to-back. (2) GHOST DANCE is an interesting 4-year-old who shows a recent big win over the half at Grand River and qualified nicely at Pocono; he had some moderate success last season here. (1) MOHAWK WARRIOR gets some needed class relief and draws best. (6) CATCHA LEFTY A steps up in class off a confidence-boosting victory.
Race 11 – NW15000 in last 5 starts
(2) ALBERGO HANOVER returns locally for Jenn Bongiorno off a very nice win at Philly and the 4-year-old looks well-spotted here to make it two straight. (4) ROCKATHON has little current form but the ability is there and I think it’s only a matter of time before he steps up with a much better effort. (3) TOPVILLE OLYMPIAN failed last week as the favorite versus a bit lesser but his early speed should make him a player here. (6) DON DOMINGO N clearly fits with these and it’s impossible to ignore anything from Hudson/Stratton.
