Race 1 - $12,500 Clm
(5) BEYONDTHESILENCE N has clearly found a home at this $12,500 claiming level for Tritton and he looks for three straight off the layoff; veteran deserves top billing again despite landing outside his main competition. (3) BROOKIES PRINCE N has also been a terror at this level looking for five straight; good matchup. (2) MACHLICIOUS goes for Banca off the claim coming off a second place finish and (1) REDONKULOUS gets much-needed post relief second start out for Harris. Interesting race.
Race 2 - NW2 or $28,000 lifetime
(2) AVALONIA was a strong winner two back off the barn change to Cullipher then was a tad overmatched in NYSS action last out; filly is back at her best level. (1) CLASSY GUY moves to the Jenn Bongiorno barn, has speed and draws best; obvious player. (5) UNION JACK ships from Pocono for Allard and maybe the change in venue will help him out; trotter is just 1 for 34 lifetime, however. (3) COTTON TO YOU finished well in his last two, albeit a bit too late.
Race 3 - F&M NW5000 in last 5 starts
(4) DIAMONDTOOTHGERTIE gets much-needed class relief tonight and I guess if there was ever a spot to be aggressive this would be it. (3) STONEBRIDGE HONEY was never involved last week but raced well at this level two and three back. (5) MISCHIEVIOUSGIRLS keeps a catch-driver and could hit the ticket at a price. (1) ANOTHERPRETTYFACE draws best again but there isn’t much else to endorse; best of the rest?
Race 4 – NW2 or $25,000 lifetime
(2) ZACK TO THE MAX (is this a “Saved by the Bell” reference?) raced very well to be a solid second last week from an outside post; speed and better draw makes him a big player. (1) SHAMROCK SHAKER ships from WEG where she was probably facing better but she’s not too exciting at 6/5 morning line. (7) SOVEREIGN DEO added hobbles and stayed trotting; keep an eye on him, maybe underneath tonight and for future weeks. (4) LOVE TRUMPS HATE was going well for Beyer but seemed to go sour quickly; a better effort lands him a share.
Race 5 - $15,000/$20,000 Clm Hcp
(2) BIG N BAD was a solid second last week to a streaking winner and he does have plenty of back class. (4) JK HEAVEN SENT is back in for a tag for DiDomenico after being left alone on the front end winning easily; gelding will be a player again. (1) MACH ONE lands inside and could carve out a share with a smooth trip. (5) JOE HILL stopped for no reason on the front end last week and was claimed; his new connections dropped him right back in the box which I guess is a good sign.
Race 6 – NW4 or $50,000 lifetime
(4) HANOVERS BEST shipped in last week and finished very willingly from the eight hole at a big price; filly is very logical from this spot tonight but may be overbet. (5) BLUE AND BOLD was second best last week and figures to be right there again. (3) THE RAVE hasn’t fired since hiking to this level but he does get a much better post to work from. (1) BROADWAY MUSCLES qualified safely after making a couple of breaks; a safe, ground-saving trip can net him a piece.
Race 7 – NW5150 in last 5 starts
(6) AMERICAN VENTURE has been hinting at better recently and did race very well last week versus $20K claimers but was stuck behind a quitter; big chance tonight. (5) HORSING AROUND raced well two back in his local return then was never involved from post eight; move in a few slots helps his cause. (7) WIND BLAST didn’t fire last week chasing a rated pace; Hudson trainee has been inconsistent but still should be considered. (2) NATURAL LEDA always picks up checks at this level but never wins.
Race 8 - $20,000 Clm
(7) SANATTLE SLEW was flying home last week and just missed; he goes for another new barn tonight (Banca) and I’m sure Brennan will be firing from the gate. (1) OWN IT broke in consecutive weeks off the Ruiz claim but qualified back safely and tries a new pilot tonight. (3) UNDRAFTED has underachieved a bit recently but goes for a new barn; improves? (2) OUR ART AND HEAVEN also goes for new connections and has been sharp.
Race 9 – NW4 or $50,000 lifetime
(2) RECEIVERSHIP did what it took to win in those first two seasonal starts and I assume there’s more in the tank. (1) RACEACE has done nothing wrong recently (except win) and the Nifty Norman trainee is the main threat. (4) TOPSPIN S has looked good since arriving here and certainly has a chance. (3) SMOKEE MIRRORS has raced well in two starts over at Pocono after moving to the Andrew Harris barn.
Race 10 – F&M NW10000 in last 5
(5) SELL A BIT N begins her climb back up the class ladder and faces no standouts here; take the short price. (1) DALI DELIGHT has tailed off a bit in her last two but should be in line for a perfect trip from this spot. (2) LYONS JENNIELEE loses Jordan, gains Cory and definitely fits with these. (6) LIVINGINTHEDREAM is hurt by the draw; small piece?
Race 11 – NW8 or $100,000 lifetime
(5) BROADWAY CREDIT was repelled in last week’s uncovered attempt but that was certainly a needed start and the Team Bongiorno trainee can be tighter tonight. (3) CHERRY PEEP failed to get involved first off the DiDomenico claim but she lands a much better post. (2) MY MVP was a winner upon arrival in 1:55; clear player. (7) SUGAR TOP will be a big price and maybe can sneak into the Superfecta.
Race 12 – F&M NW10000 in last 5 starts
(2) DEWAR N SODA successfully dropped and popped last week to get a long-overdue win; price should be decent on her looking to double up. (1) STRONG OPINION ships in for a barn that’s done well here and she looks like a nice fit. (3) JK JAZZITUP gets needed post relief; shows more? (7) JAG OUT has been feeling good again; problem here is the post.
