Race 6 - $10,000 Guaranteed Pick-5 pool
Race 1 – F&M NW5000 in last 5 starts
(4) PITTSTOP DANICA gets a needed drop in class tonight, plus an improved post, and she meets a field full of question marks. (2) SHADY STELLA was a play-against last week as noted by her inconsistency, and she faltered badly at odds-on. Better effort coming? (1) ANN HILL ships from Northfield and we’ll see how she stacks up here class-wise; note she’s 0 for 19 however. (3) STONEBRIDGE HONEY enters a new barn via claim and did race well in defeat last week.
Race 2 – NW2 or $25,000 lifetime
(5) HOLD MY HEART gets a monster driver change from the trainer to Brennan; will that get him over the top? (1) LUCKY ARNOLD easily beat NW1 at Philly and draws best in his local return. (4) AVALONIA has missed time off the sick scratch but does have some good efforts here versus similar. (6) BIG MONEY HONEY takes a big drop out of the NYSS.
Race 3 – NW2 or $25,000 lifetime
(4) THE RAVE put in a solid effort in defeat last week, being aggressively handled. Stratton drives tonight and he can improve off that race. (6) LOVE TRUMPS HATE has hinted at ability and Marohn gets the catch-drive for Beyer tonight. (5) GOT NO MONEY HONEY stayed trotting in his last two and his last start showed improvement. (3) SHEGOBOOM HANOVER has shown little out of town but maybe the change in venue helps.
Race 4 - $12,500/$15,000 Clm
(2) COACH CAL was caught uncovered last week off the claim in what was a busy mile with a few lead changes. He draws well again and may be a bit overlooked in the wagering. (3) BROOKIES PRINCE N was dead-game in victory off the DiDomenico claim. (7) ROCK ICON jogged first out for new connections and is an obvious player but the post hurts. (1) WILD WEST moves from the eight hole to the rail; enough said.
Race 5 – NW4 or $50,000 lifetime
(7) RACEACE shows plenty of miscues, but also serious ability when he stays trotting. Worth a play, but not at too short of a price. (1) BROADWAY MUSCLES showed good improvement first-time in the Cory Stratton barn. (6) WITH OUT A DOUBT exits stakes action; obvious player. (3) CHECKMATE HILL broke at the start last week ending his evening; prior efforts makes him competitive here.
Race 6 – NW5000 in last 5 starts
(1) ROCK N BLUE has a nice brush in him and unfortunately was rebuffed last week after a strong attempt. He faces a big-time foe here in (3) THE LUNCH PAIL but maybe he can catch that one off guard. The latter drops to the basement NW5000 level and he’s been competitive with WAY better than these recently. (6) SENIOR MARKET and (7) BULLVILLE KYLE are a couple of longshots worthy of consideration when calling out trifectas.
Race 7 – NW6 or $75,000 lifetime
(2) MRS DARCY got going a bit too late last week but closed well; she moves inside a few slots and may be the better price of the contenders. (6) NO DRAMA PLEASE was overmatched in the Beal elimination but raced well in NJSS action and is obviously an easier spot; one to beat. (3) ALEXANDRIA HANOVER has hit the ticket in her last four local starts for Burke and figures to do so again. (7) LIVINONTHEDASH exits NYSS company and was a winner versus that type here last week; facing overnight foes from an outside post may make him vulnerable at a short price.
Race 8 – NW10000 in last 5 starts
(1) MIGHTY MR SHARKEY N has raced well with better here in the past and seems to return in a winning spot. (4) TYMAL PEACEMAKER was close up for Lachance after showing speed upon arrival and an aggressive steer will get him a big piece again. (3) RAINBOW ROMANCE N was big two back, not so good last week; player if he brings his “A” game. (5) ARQUE HANOVER picks up Stratton in his local return and he does fit with this type.
Race 9 – NW8 or $100,000 lifetime
(3) LINDSEY’S PRIDE stormed home to take his first two seasonal starts for Marcus and Erv Miller; he returns sharp to Yonkers and can handle these. (1) BIGBOY ROSCO seems to have gone sour in a hurry but he draws back inside in this abbreviated field and figures to be right there throughout. (6) OMAHA OMAHA had decent speed at both ends last out and gets Stratton tonight. (5) SUGAR TOP came up short on the front end last out; local debut was a winning one, however.
Race 10 – F&M NW10000 in last 5
(4) ALWAYS GIGGLING completed a massive bottom-out job last week and gets to face similar tonight; clearly the one to beat here. (1) DALI DELIGHT can’t seem to win at this level but always hits the ticket. (5) MELANIE’S FILLY returns locally off a win for Allard and seems capable of building off that effort. (3) LYONS JENNIELEE was second best in her last two and figures to be a player again.
