Race 7 - $10,000 Guaranteed Pick Five Pool
Race 1 – F&M NW5000 in last 5 starts
(2) SHEER TALENT was a sharp wire-to-wire winner off the claim two back at a price then moved up in class and drew the eight hole. She's back at the proper level and with an inside post. (1) BETTERTHANBRIE was a game winner from a similar spot two back; logical. (4) THREEDEE DELIGHT A has been better lately and had good finishing energy last week. (6) SHADY STELLA changes hands off a claim and looks for three straight but she's inconsistent and is tough to take if she’s a short price.
Race 2 - NW2 or $25,000 lifetime
(1) MASSIVE VODKA put in a solid speed try from the eight hole upon arrival and the Erv Miller trainee would seem pretty logical now moving inside. (5) HAVREE DE GRACE ships from Philly with speed but needs more late stamina. (2) COTTON TO YOU was moving well in the late stages last out and can build off that effort. (7) CLASSY GUY also comes by way of Philly where he wired NW1 types; we'll see if she can handle a bit better.
Race 3 - $12,500 Clm
(8) UF ROCKIN DRAGON is stuck all the way outside but the veteran does have some early speed in his arsenal and faces a field with question marks; maybe watch the board for some signs. (1) BEYONDTHESILENCE N drops to the basement coming back from vacation for Tritton and he’s the obvious one to beat, assuming he’s ready. (6) SHAVING MUG drops below the level of the recent claim for Allard off a parked-out trip; prior form was okay. (5) REDONKULOUS raced decently for a small share last week and Cory Stratton gets the call again.
Race 4 – NW4 or $50,000 lifetime
(1) SWAN IN THE VALLEY battled very stubbornly in defeat last week and now the filly tries Holland in the bike while drawing best and she’ll look to control these wire-to-wire. (4) PHOTO BOMBER hasn’t raced badly here with the owner in the bike and now Marohn is taking over; interesting. (5) CHECKMATE HILL broke two back and didn’t get involved last week but he seems better than that. (3) EXOTIC DIAMOND will be coming on late for a piece.
Race 5 – NW5000 in last 5 starts
(6) FIREBALL has raced okay for his current connections, who dipped in for $40K to take him a few months back, so I’m sure the expectations were a bit higher for this 5-year-old. He should be competitive in here at a price. (1) HIGHVIEW CONALL N gets the important combo of both class and post relief. (3) LETTUCERIPRITA A was a good second to a classy rival last week and looms a big player but won’t offer much value. (2) ON THE VIRG started poorly when taking money at this level last out and never fired; he’s another one in with a live chance here.
Race 6 – NW5000 in last 5 starts
(8) MCERLEAN hasn’t been at his best recently but it’s tough to pass on this classmaster at this lower level, even from the eight hole. (5) OUTKAST BLUE CHIP was repelled after an uncovered try first off the Jenn Bongiorno claim and now he faces softer; obvious player. (1) SOME GOLD draws best and can hit the ticket with a ground-saving trip. (2) MYIDEALSON N hasn’t done much in some time but at least he draws well and was Stratton’s choice.
Race 7 – NW4 or $50,000 lifetime
(5) RECEIVERSHIP was an easy front-end winner last week for Team Bongiorno off the one-year layoff and he did it in the rain after waiting out a delay; I assume he’ll be even stronger tonight. (2) RACEACE was game in defeat in his last two; player. (1) TOWN HALL JUSTICE returns locally for Allard and she has speed from the best post. (3) DARK AS A POCKET has been lightly raced but the filly hails from good connections and comes off a winning qualifier.
Race 8 – NW10000 in last 5 starts
(4) CHANTEPLEURE obviously has some issues but he’s a high-quality pacer when he’s right and he could easily take these coast-to-coast. (1) CARRACCI HANOVER has only one win on the season but it’s not like he’s been awful and this is a much more realistic spot tonight. (2) LETTUCEROCKTHEM A hasn’t really fired since moving to the Lance Hudson barn but he still deserves respect. (7) ROCK N BLUE steps up off a winning effort and he has a nice brush in him; consider.
Race 9 - $20,000 Clm
(4) JOE HILL has been a rare bad claim for Allard but at least he’s right back in the box coming off a more aggressive effort. (2) MARCED MAGIC qualified back effectively after stopping in his last start and he goes for Stratton now off the claim. (6) ROCK ON PRECIOUS paced evenly last week and he could spice up the exotics a bit. (3) SANATTLE SLEW goes for new connections and I wouldn’t take too short of a price on him.
Race 10 – F&M NW10000 in last 5 starts
(5) LIVINGINTHEDREAM went on a big form spree for Surick then was stuck with tough rivals from some outside posts but from this spot she can be quick to the lead and work out a winning trip. (2) QUEEN JOSEPHINE was uncovered last week and never seriously threatened but she can be a big threat with a smoother trip. (1) DUDESALADY is better than she’s been showing and she does draw best here. (7) SELL A BIT N has really fallen on hard times but the classy mare still deserves a mention.
Race 11 – NW8 or $100,000 lifetime
(6) LINDSEY’S PRIDE came up a nose short at odds-on upon arrival for Erv Miller and the gelding deserves another try at what will be a better price. (3) ALEXANDRIA HANOVER has been a steady commodity for Burke with on-the-board finishes in all recent efforts and she should land another good piece from this post. (1) CAVIAR’S TRIUMPH gets needed post relief which should put the Allard trainee in play. (5) FASHION FOREVER has closed stoutly in his last three for Steve Smith.
Race 12 – F&M NW10000 in last 5 starts
(2) FIREBBY A beat up on a weak field last week at absurd 1/9 odds and while she steps up in class she doesn’t meet a tough field and the import seems capable of repeating. (4) FREEZE OUT was a distant third last week and she’ll wake up eventually. (1) ROSE RUN TONI rallied belatedly last out and now she moves back inside. (6) GIVEMEYOURHEART has a bit of class to her and she should be capable of landing a piece with this type.
