Yonkers: Thursday 2/21 Analysis

Best Bet: WINBAK NOELLE (2nd)

Spot Play: GYPSY LEATHER (7th)

MEET STATS: 38 - 103 / $197.00 (-$9.00)

BEST BETS: 6 - 9 / $18.70 (+$0.70)

Race 1

(5) KING ROYALTY has raced well in all recent without a victory to show for it and he lands in a very soft $12,500 claimer tonight; worth a play as the likely second choice. (1) MATEO raced okay last week in a needed start but he's been inconsistent and disappointing since shipping in for Banca. (3) MANHATTAN BENNY doesn't win often but figures to land a share from this spot.

Race 2

(4) WINBAK NOELLE added the hobbles last week, stayed trotting and put in a big effort in defeat. A similar effort will make this Allard trainee a winner. (1) HOTROD RICHARD was a bit short on the front end last out but he draws the rail again and is impossible not to include. (5) ALVISI HANOVER is an interesting Meadowlands shipper for Mark Ford and he arrives off two solid efforts.

Race 3

(5) VELOCITY LAYLA held decently off an uncovered trip in her debut for new connections and the Garcia-Herrera trainee certainly needed the start; mare should be tighter tonight. (1) WESTLUCKYCAM goes for another new barn tonight looking for three straight; remains the one to beat but will offer little value. (4) PIRINEA'S PRINCESS was a decent second off the Banca claim and she figures to hit the ticket.

Race 4

(3) BROADWAY SISSY closed very willingly at a big price upon arrival last week to be second best; mare gets a better post now and bears following. (1) TAKE A WISH is another that's been racing well who will appreciate the post relief. (8) WHETHER OR NOT FI is two for two in the U.S. for Toscano but he bumps up the class ladder a notch and lands all the way outside; tough call tonight.

Race 5

(3) SKYWAY BOOMER won his first start off the DiDomenico claim then was too far back last out but closed well for a minor share; big threat here with the post relief. (2) DIAMOND COWBOY was in the top three the last couple of times he was drawn inside but failed to get involved from outside posts; clearly a player with the move back inside. (6) NORTHERN ASSASSIN A has been very sharp but he faces better here and will likely have to work harder to get it done.

Race 6

(4) ALEXANDRIA HANOVER could not sustain a second move last week but perhaps the Burke trainee can rebound with a smoother trip. (1) SEVEN IRON has raced well enough in his three starts for new connections and a win should be coming soon. (8) LA GRANGE A qualified nicely at The Meadowlands and chooses the half mile to make his U.S. debut; watch the board.

Race 7

(4) GYPSY LEATHER was stacked wide in his local return and still paced steadily to the wire; Allard trainee meets a pretty soft field here. (7) STARSKY'S DREAM N goes for new connections off the claim and Brennan's choice should be forwardly placed. (2) SOME GOLD drops in for a tag here and draws well off of some even efforts.

Race 8

(6) RIVER OTTER ships from Delaware for good trotting connections and looks like he'll be a good fit with these. (4) ONE OF THE FEW has done little wrong in his last three for the DiDomenico barn. (3) JOEY BATS is a new addition to the Andrew Harris barn and he went willingly in those qualifiers.

Race 9

(2) SUDDEN CHANGE N gets Gingras in the bike for her local return, draws well and could be dictating the pace from this spot. (3) ROYAL KNOCKOUT returns locally at a reduced level, gets post relief and figures to be a big player. (7) CAROBBEAN PACETRY goes second start for the Banca barn (while Allard is still listed as co-owner, interesting) and when right she's the best in here.

Race 10

(1) IMF stalked from the pocket and rolled by a sharp rival last week; mare can make it two straight from this spot. (3) CHASIN DREAMS needed last week's start and now lands in a more realistic spot. (4) BROADWAY CREDIT always flashes good speed but needs to show more late.

Race 11

(4) ACEFORTYFOUR ALEX doesn't win all that often but that was a good effort last week to be second best and she meets a soft field here in the finale. (1) KEENE OLIVIA is another camera-shy type but she does have some speed and draws best. (5) AMANDEROSA may need a start or two off the layoff but she can go with this type.
