2019 STATS: 522 - 1334 / $2,436.20 (-$231.80)
BEST BETS: 62 - 114 / $198.90 (-$29.10)
Best Bet: HURRICANE CALLEIGH (8th)
Spot Play: RACEACE (3rd)
Race 1 – F&M NW5000 in last 5 starts
(6) CHERRY BLISS was overmatched in her last few versus better but she does her best work at this level as evidenced by her near-miss four back; Bartlett picks up the drive tonight and she does have some early speed in her arsenal. (1) PIRINEA’S PRINCESS saved ground, slid out wide and stormed home at 56/1 last week to upset for a barn that’s going much better of late. (2) MORE THAN MANY returns from a break at a reduced level; player if she’s ready. (7) CERTIFIED IDEAL gets needed class relief; post obviously presents a problem.
Race 2 – NAADA Fall Trot Series Final – Amateurs
(3) FIJI tailed off last week going the extra quarter-mile but was a blowout winner here three back. (1) GLENFERRIE DREAMER just missed in an overnight event last week at Freehold and can be excused for his tough trip two back; rail draw gives the veteran a live chance. (4) TOUGH GET GOING was troubled from the second tier last start but his nose is back on the gate tonight and he figures to be forwardly place. (6) FIVE TOWNS can pick off a couple to round out the Superfecta.
Race 3 – NW6 races or $75,000 lifetime
(4) RACEACE was a solid second to a winner who was just too good in his last start; overall the DiDomenico trainee has been solid since arriving at Yonkers and he’s in with a big chance tonight. (2) WITH OUT A DOUBT was no match late off a good stalking trip last out; Erv Miller trainee should be in line for another good trip here. (3) FAVORITE UNCLE rebounded with a nice effort to just miss; player. (6) PHOTO BOMBER has been a steady commodity since moving to the Burke barn.
Race 4 – NW5350 in last 5 starts
(3) MIDNIGHT LIGHTNING is not the most prolific winner but the Vallee trainee gets much-needed post relief in a field full of question marks. (7) DEMOCRACY N has looked much better in recent weeks and would be no surprise here. (1) BIG JER has speed from the best post and Marohn may be looking to take these as far as he can. (5) THE ONLYEST ONE gets needed class relief for Surick but has little current form.
Race 5 – NW4 races or $50,000 lifetime
(2) SENSIBILITY jogged upon arrival at odds-on and pretty much gets a free ride here; filly will likely repeat at a short price. (3) PETRO HALL tries Kakaley in the bike as Brennan sticks with the top one; she comes off a miscue but her prior form was fine. (1) MUFASA AS never got close last out from the eight hole but all of his prior efforts were good. (8) GETTIN MESSI is severely hampered by post eight but the Robert Bongiorno trainee has hinted at serious ability.
Race 6 – F&M NW7500 in last 5 starts
(1) STELLENBOSCH has just one win on the season and was no match last week in a speedy mile but she should be able to set up a live trip from the rail. (4) FIREBBY A is another getting class relief and was Bartlett’s choice over a Banca trainee. (2) SHEWEARSTHEPANTS was a good second last week in her local return. (5) SHES SPORTY A did win at this level two back but she’s likely looking at a smaller share tonight.
Race 7 – NW8 races or $100,000 lifetime
(7) YES took some time making his way to the front in his local debut but didn’t let up from there and proved a much-the-best winner; trotter can repeat despite starting from the worst post. (4) LIGHTS COME ON pulled off the big upset in a breaker-scattered field last out; anything from the Lorentzon barn with Bartlett driving deserves serious respect. (1) FULL RIGHTS had a fortunate trip last start but was still a solid winner; Schnittker trainee looks best of the rest. “All” for fourth?
Race 8 – F&M NW10000 in last 5 starts
(1) HURRICANE CALLEIGH was a good second last week but ran into a monster who drew away in 1:52; Banca trainee should resume winning ways from this spot. (3) JAG OUT had no real excuse sitting the pocket but she likely needed the start coming off the shelf; classy mare will probably be in the two-hole again. (6) ROSE RUN TONI closed a ton last week but she may have too far to come again tonight. (4) QUITE A DELIGHT went through the motions from the eight hole in last but her prior starts were solid.
Race 9 – NW4 races or $50,000 lifetime
(2) VICTORYISALLUNEED drove up to the lead past the quarter and never looked back en route to an easy win last out; filly has missed a couple of weeks but is clearly capable of repeating. (3) WINDSONG PIONEER couldn’t last the duration on the front end last week; he should be close up again and looks like the main threat. (5) PUMA BLUE CHIP seems to be rounding back into form and will be a good price. (6) KEYSTONE ANGEL moves into the Jenn Bongiorno barn; improvement is expected.
Race 10 – F&M NW7500 in last 5 starts
(3) ACEFORTYFOUR ALEX does show a win versus similar a couple of months ago when bet down to favoritism; Laterza trainee should be a decent price in this hard-to-figure event. (5) LYONS JENNIELEE and (4) SEZANA N both take a bit of a dip in class and appear to be logical contenders. (1) CRUISINWITHMYBABY is tough to endorse for the top spot but she has early speed and the best draw; mare could hang around for a share.
Race 11 – NW15000 in last 5 starts
(2) TEXAS TERROR N and (1) ANOTHER DAILY COPY are a couple of classy veterans who just look a touch better than these, especially from the two best posts. I wouldn’t bet the farm on either one of them, however, but one of these geldings should get the job done. (3) MIGHTY MR SHARKEY N wasn’t bad at all at 38/1 in his local return. (4) MAURICE looks a bit on the cheaper side but he did finish well last out once shaking free.
