Yonkers: Thursday 11/7 Analysis

Matt Rose|Nov 05, 2019
Yonkers Logo 1.5

2019 STATS: 490 - 1214 / $2,260.90 (-$167.10)
BEST BETS: 58 - 104 / $184.40 (-$23.60)
Best Bet:
CARLISIMO (11th)
Spot Play: SIR MACHALOT (4th)
Race 1 - $15,000 Claiming
(3) BIG TURN ON was no match to the top two last week while safely third best; there’s some potential for some quick early action which could help this veteran out in the late stages at a decent price. (4) SEELEY MAN is obviously feeling good again and is a threat to take all. (6) TJ BLAST goes to another new barn (Bamond) and importantly gets Bartlett back in the bike. (2) STEVE SAID did perk up three back at The Meadowlands on the barn change to Harris.
Race 2 – NAADA Amateur trot
(1) FIJI has good speed, lands the best post and is a legit threat to take these wire-to-wire. (4) JACKS TO OPEN hasn’t fired his best in his last couple but anything from Nick Surick with Hannah Miller driving has to be considered. (6) TOUGH GET GOING has some early speed for Faraldo and can land a share with a smooth trip. (8) FINNICK ODAIR has been well-handled by Melissa Arbia but the eight hole makes things tough.
Race 3 – NW3 or $25,000 lifetime
(1) FRANKY TWO TIMES has been racing well up at Saratoga with the trainer in the bike and the Derue trainee picks up Zeron upon arrival and lands the best post. (3) CLASSY GUY always works out good trips with his early speed; Team Bongiorno trainee is a serious threat. (8) ANGEL MAGIC is stuck outside while losing Bartlett but she fits here and the price should be right. (2) BLUTO’S DIAMOND hails from the sharp Lorentzon barn and reverts back to Bartlett.
Race 4 - $20,000 Claiming
(4) SIR MACHALOT used a perfect steer from Stratton to just miss last week and he drives again, from an improved post. (1) DON’TCALLMEFRANCIS had nothing to offer coming off the layoff but he’s right back in the box now in for a tag and improvement can be expected. (3) MACH ONE has been racing very well for the Regina barn and there’s no reason why he can’t land another board spot here. (6) IMA TRADEGY N is in a tough spot tonight but he could be considered underneath at a price.
Race 5 – NW4 or $50,000 lifetime
(2) AMANDA BLUE CHIP broke off turn one while in a bit tight on the rail last week crushing my hopes; I’m willing to give the Toscano trainee another chance. (5) GETTING MESSI has been a winning machine up in the Maritimes and we’ve seen these types transition well here in the past. (1) CISCO PAL didn’t fire at all last week in a disappointing effort but from this improved post he can revert to better form. (3) MISS YOU KELLY ships in for the sharp Lucas Wallin barn; consider.
Race 6 – NW4 or $50,000 lifetime
(2) CAPTAIN KRUPNIK moved to the Jenny Melander barn and crushed cheaper two straight at Pocono; 3-year-old may be sharp enough to tackle these. (5) WISHYOU’DTELLME added Lasix last start and bounced back with a much sharper performance. (8) STATE OFMYHEAD AS lands the worst post but as previously mentioned about a thousand times anything from Lorentzon with Bartlett driving has to be considered. (3) PILGRIMS LASS was a NYSS finalist a couple of months ago and that’s got to count for something.
Race 7 – F&M NW10000 in last 5 starts
(2) LOVIN MISS DAISY N has been accustomed to facing much better than these recently and the Oakes-trained mare seems way overdue. (3) ZOE ELLASEN hasn’t been at her best but lands a better post and was Bartlett’s choice over a couple of other legit contenders. (6) FAITHFUL DESIRE moves up in class and moves outside, repeating may be tough but she can carve out a small share. (1) QUITE A DELIGHT N double-jumps in class off a confidence-boosting victory.
Race 8 – NW6 or $75,000 lifetime
(4) LIGHTS COME ON has been well-mannered recently while flashing speed and has been right there late in practically all of his local tries; Lorentzon trainee deserves top billing. (5) WITH OUT A DOUBT went too fast on the engine last start and predictably fizzled out; better rating will garner better results. (8) P L KETCHUP clearly has the ability for Jeff Gregory but the eight hole obviously presents a major problem; worth using if the price is good. (2) SWAN IN THE VALLEY has totally turned things around in her last two and the Allard trainee may be sharp enough to land a share facing better.
Race 9 – NW5000 in last 5 starts
(3) CANBEC KINGKASIMIR fits well at this NW5000 level and the Bob Bongiorno trainee has been overdue for some time; is tonight the night? (5) ANWAR HANOVER has always been a bit erratic but the talent has always been there; Simon Allard is here picking up some catch-drives and this one can make some noise with a smooth trip. Speaking of erratic, what to we do with (1) VOLLEY BALL BEACH? Andrew Harris trainee seems capable of blowing these away but how short of a price are we willing to accept? (4) TWIN B IMPRESSIVE gets needed class relief and the veteran has been paying the bills recently at the $20 claiming level.
Race 10 – NW6 or $75,000 lifetime
(3) PHOTO BOMBER has predictably shown improvement since moving to the Burke brigade and he’s got the speed to take these the distance. (2) TT’S D-JAY is another Saratoga shipper coming in with good form picking up the catch-driving Zeron. (1)TOPSPIN S did break from the rail two back but otherwise the Banca trainee has been fairly competitive. (4) RACEACE has performed well since shipping in for DiDomenico.
Race 11 – NW10000 in last 5 starts
(1) CARLISIMO was well-meant in his local debut for Hudson but ran into a classy winner; he faces a bit better here but may be up to the task. (5) BEYOND DELIGHT returns locally for Allard and looks like a live one here. (2) PHOTOBOMBR HANOVER finds a much more realistic spot here and would certainly be no surprise. (7) ELWELL faces an uphill climb from post seven but he fits here class-wise and could be coming late at a big price.
