Yonkers: Thursday 11/21 Analysis

Matt Rose|Nov 19, 2019
Yonkers Logo 1.5

2019 STATS: 507 - 1277 / $2,353.90 (-$200.10)

BEST BETS: 61 - 109 / $195.90 (-$22.10)

Best Bet: SENSIBILITY (4th)

Spot Play: MY PURE HONEY (2nd)

Race 1 - $12,500/$15,000 Claiming

(1) BEYONDTHESILENCE N has been on a roll since returning from a couple of months off and though he faces a bit better here the Tritton-trained veteran still deserves top billing. (6) TJ BLAST has been unreliable since leaving the Banca barn but he’s still got early speed that can be used to his advantage. (5) TALENT SOUP ships in from Pocono for Alllard where he was competitive with $20K claimers and he should be well-spotted here. (7) BIG TURN ON is a candidate for the bottom of the ticket at a big price.

Race 2 – NW3 races or $26,000 lifetime

(4) MY PURE HONEY comes off a sick scratch but she was racing pretty well in prior starts and she gets a big driver upgrade to the catch-driving Goodell. (3) CHECKMATE HILL kept up well from the pocket last week to be second best and the Laterza trainee should be forwardly placed again. (2) CADENCE SEELSTER is fresh stock from Canada joining the Banca barn and she picks up Bartlett; she’s missed some time, however. (5) HOLIDAY HANGOVER has been facing better out of town.

Race 3 – NW5000 in last 5 starts

(3) LINKJACK HANOVER didn’t do a heck of a lot from outside posts in his two starts off the DiDomenico claim; expect more aggressive handling tonight. (4) SHANE ADAM doesn’t have much in the form department but he can get well in a hurry at this basement level. (2) PARTY BOY gets much-needed post relief for Mike Kimelman. (1) LONE RAIDER has looked much better in his last two.

Race 4 – NW4 races or $50,000 lifetime

(2) SENSIBILITY was a NYSS winner here back in September and has done good things in stakes races at Hoosier now for the Burke barn; filly is clearly the one to beat here at a short price. (1) WISHYOU’DTELLME raced well last week to be second best but can he string two good efforts together? That seems to have been the problem since arriving locally. (4) STORMING MIST gets some post relief in his second local start for good connections. (5) SKYWAY KON MAN makes his debut for the Cullipher barn off the purchase and he’s raced well in all local efforts.

Race 5 – F&M NW10000 in last 5 starts

(1) ANN HILL comes off a rare clunker where she didn’t really fire from off the pace but she gets post relief tonight while facing a bit softer. (2) LA ALWAYS AMARTINI hasn’t won in quite some time but she’s proven to be very competitive with this type. (3) SHES SPORTY A is up in class again for Banca looking for three straight. (5) DUDESALADY was the pick last week but failed to deliver on the front end; she’s got back class that will resurface eventually.

Race 6 – NW4 races or $50,000 lifetime

(2) WINDSONG PIONEER came up a bit short in the late stages last week but if he reverts to his effort from two back he can handle these; post edge on his main rival obviously helps. (5) MISS YOU KELLY never got involved last start from the eight hole but her prior effort was very encouraging. (7) PETRO HALL and (6) CLASSY GUY are both a couple of speedy and generally well-mannered trotters and either or both can be factors if not used too hard in the early stages.

Race 7 - $20,000 Claiming

(1) STARLITE KID arrives from Philly for the potent Brennan/DiDomenico combo and landing the best post likely makes him the one to beat. (4) TWIN B IMPRESSIVE is still chugging along after all these years and he rarely cheats in the effort department. (6) SEELEY MAN is probably better suited a level down but his early speed makes him a player. (8) SIR MACHALOT goes for the Stratton brothers off the claim and he’s been sharp in all recent efforts; don’t ignore him, even from the eight hole.

Race 8 – NW6 races or $75,000 lifetime

(5) YES has had a nice 3-year-old season holding his own in stakes races and he has plenty of half-mile experience; Erv Miller trainee may just be a bit faster than these. (4) RACEACE raced very well off the sick scratch to be a clear second to (3) PHOTO BOMBER and he can build off that effort. The latter has been pretty solid since the move to the Burke barn and he may be the first one to the lead here. (2) FEEL INVINCIBLE AS has been inconsistent lately but she does get needed post relief and can hit the ticket at a price.

Race 9 – NW15000 in last 5 starts

(1) ROCKATHON blew away cheaper in a nice confidence-boosting victory and he’s done well with better in the past so the hike in class doesn’t scare me that much; Bartlett sticks with him. (2) KIMANI N took a while to get going after arriving in the U.S. for Dilloian but he’s been more than holding his own recently with better; threat. (3) BRIGHT DIAMOND N returns locally for Jenn Bongiorno and it looks like he’ll be forwardly placed here. (6) TEXAS TERROR N looks like he can still go with this type but he’s got some tough ones inside of him; small share perhaps?

Race 10 – NW6 races or $75,000 lifetime

(7) CHIN CHIN HALL has been chasing the top 3-year-old trotters all season and has banked close to $500K lifetime; tough to see him losing here despite starting from the outside. (2) WITHOUT A DOUBT rallied very willingly from off the pace last start after going on a speed mission the start prior; logical candidate to complete the exacta. (8) LIGHTS COME ON unfortunately is stuck in the worst post but if Bartlett can improve position a bit at the start the Lorentzon trainee can land a share. (5) FAVORITE UNCLE didn’t fire at all last week at odds-on after scoring at 10/1 the start prior.

Race 11 – NW20000 in last 5 starts

(1) HOT DEUCE was scratched-ineligible when entered first-out off the Jenn Bongiorno purchase but he’s back into go and lands the rail again; freelegged pacer will likely try to take these coast-to-coast. (2) OUR MAX PHACTOR N gets post relief and will be close-up throughout. (4) OSTRO HANOVER is up in class after taking care of lesser; the Allard trainee can take this but insist on a decent price if you like his chances. (3) VINNY GAMBINI N was okay last week when hiked to this level and he should land a small share again tonight.
