Yonkers: Thursday 10/31 Analysis

Matt Rose|Oct 30, 2019
Yonkers Logo 1.5

2019 STATS: 473 - 1172 / $2,174.20 (-$169.80)

BEST BETS: 57 - 100 / $179.00 (-$21.00)

Best Bet: JK HEAVEN SENT (1st)

Spot Play: REGGIANO (7th)

Race 7 - $10,000 Guaranteed Pick-5 Pool

Race 1 - $12,500 Claiming

(3) JK HEAVEN SENT went a big eight-hole winning effort last week, his second start at this reduced level for DiDomenico; gelding gets top billing with the post edge on his main rivals. (2) AMRCANBOOTSCOOTA A is right back in the box off a sick scratch and was a nice front-end winner at this level two back. (6) BROOKIES PRINCE has suddenly forgotten how to win after taking 11 straight but it’s not like he’s been bad in those losses; Carmine Fusco trainee still deserves respect. (4) WILD WEST got hung to dry last week but all prior efforts at this level have been good; Marohn drives tonight for Garcia-Herrera.

Race 2 – NW3 or $25,000 lifetime

(4) ANGEL MAGIC has shown good speed since arriving locally for Banca and adding Lasix; filly can go wire-to-wire from this spot. (1) THANKS FOR LEAVING draws best and should be in line for a perfect trip. (6) SKYWAY KON MAN was a winner here two back with Siegelman driving but trainer Smedshammer takes the lines again and he’s more than competent; not sure what kind of trip he’s in for from this spot, however. (7) LUCKY ARNOLD gets a driver change to Dube can perhaps he can sneak into the number at a big price.

Race 3 – NW10000 in last 5 starts

(3) MARTY MONKHOUSER A has been dead-game in two starts off the Cory Stratton claim; he faces some good ones here off the hike in class but may be sharp enough to repeat. (5) ELWELL has been knocking on the door for Laterza and will be right there with a smooth trip. (1) NORTHERN VIRGIN could not sustain an uncovered move upon arrival but the Surick trainee’s prior Freehold form was solid and he draws best while picking up Brennan. (2) SANTIAGO STYLE returns to Yonkers and has been racing okay recently at Pocono; price should be decent.

Race 4 – F&M NW10000 in last 5 starts

(3) AMATEUR HOUR hails from a struggling barn but she showed some decent efforts a few starts back and maybe the switch to Brennan wakes her up; tepid call here in this competitive event. (5) CERTIFIED IDEAL hasn’t gotten involved in her last couple but she’s better than that. (1) ACEFORTYFOUR ALEX should be alert off the gate and may work out a live trip. (7) ISLAY N has been sharp but unfortunately she’s stuck outside again.

Race 5 – NW4 or $50,000 lifetime

(2) PETRO HALL has come up a bit shy in her two starts since arriving locally and joining the DiDomenico barn; filly will find the wire sooner rather than later. (6) CISCO PAL broke last week losing all chance but his prior form is good; Marcus Miller takes the lines tonight and could offer a bit of value. (5) CLASSY GUY gets Goodell in the bike subbing for Bongiorno and he’ll be on the move early. (7) WINDSONG PIONEER broke in his local debut and will likely be ignored by the public off that effort; price factor underneath?

Race 6 – NW4 or $50,000 lifetime **$10K GTD PICK-5**

(1) AMANDA BLUE CHIP has flashed some willing trot in all her recent local efforts and the Toscano-trained filly can grind her way to victory here. (3) MUFASA AS was given a confident steer by Bartlett last week beating lesser and anything he drives from the Lorentzon barn deserves respect. (5) WISHYOU’DTELLME was a bit disappointing last week; Brennan drives tonight and the DiDomenico trainee is capable of better. (4) FULL RIGHTS was second best last out sitting a loose pocket to a sharp winner; Schnittker trainee should land another good piece.

Race 7 - $20,000 Claiming

(2) REGGIANO has been racing well recently and now goes to Banca off the claim while picking up Bartlett; gelding can pay instant dividends from this spot. (3) SHOW THE FASHION was nailed on the wire by a flying rival last week; DiDomenico charge should be right there again. (6) SIR MACHALOT may have a bit to prove facing better moving into claimers but he’s been very competitive in his last few and Stratton sticks with him. (8) ER ROCK MY WORLD debuts for the hot Chris Height barn off the claim but is obviously severely hampered by post eight; even if he has no chance let’s keep an eye on him.

Race 8 – NW6 or $75,000 lifetime

(5) PHOTO BOMBER went off a generous 3/1 off the move to the Burke barn and won easily in a breaker-scattered field; he faces better here but may be up to the task. (3) MAGICAL JOURNEY has been racing pretty well in Ontario stakes action at Mohawk and he arrives now in the Allard barn; clear contender. (2) FEEL INVINCIBLE AS broke in the final turn after clearing the lead last out and while she probably would have been collared by the eventual winner she would have been right there; Lorentzon trainee can be a player here if she minds her manners. (1) LIGHTFOOTEDLEGEDN gets some needed post relief.

Race 9 – F&M NW10000 in last 5 starts

(4) WISHY WASHY GIRL got a long-awaited win two back and held okay last week off a tough two-move effort; Harder trainee gets needed post relief and picks up Stratton. (1) LA ALWAYS AMARTINI is a bit inconsistent but one of her better efforts will give her a big chance. (5) POPPY DRAYTON N returns locally for Godinez off a couple of good tries at Pocono and she was facing better when last seen here. (3) DIAMONDTOOTHGERTIE has been improved recently and now goes for the Temming barn off the claim; mare has good early speed.

Race 10 – NW8 or $100,000 lifetime

(3) ARABELLA’S CADET made a long sustained run from far back, had aim bit was outbattled late in a solid try last week; anything from the Lance Hudson barn with Stratton driving deserves plenty of respect. (5) BRADY BUNCH has a stellar 10-7-3-0 record this year for Erv Miller and he looks like the one to catch. (2) RACEACE loses Brennan to a Burke trainee but gets this Bartlett guy, who seems like a worthy substitute; player. (6) ALEXANDRIA HANOVER took her last two local races in solid fashion but unfortunately draws outside her main competition.
