Yonkers: Thursday 10/10 Analysis

2019 STATS: 438 - 1071 / $1,960.50 (-$181.50)
BEST BETS: 53 - 91 / $165.50 (-$16.50)
Best Bet: PROVOCATIVEPRINCEN (10th)
Spot Play: MANHATTAN BENNY (1st)
Race 7 - $10,000 Guaranteed Pick-5 Pool
Race 1 - $12,500 Claiming
(3) MANHATTAN BENNY gets a big barn upgrade to Carmine Fusco via claim and stays at the $12,500 level; he should be a decent price with (4) NORTHERN ASSASSIN A attracting all the attention and is worth a shot for the minor upset. The latter was a solid pocket-sitting winner first out for Banca and looms the one to beat again. (2) OUTLOUD drops in for a tag after being inconsistent since arriving from the Midwest; he doesn’t face much else in here and should land a decent piece. (5) DRAGON N KICKIN lost touch with the field last week from the eight hole but he does move in a few slots tonight.
Race 2 – NW2 or $25,000 lifetime
(4) ANDOVERS ASSET had a great season on the Pennsylvania fair circuit and won the Fair final last week at The Meadows; Schadel trainee still qualifies for the NW2 condition and seems capable of handling these. (2) FRONTIER CREEDA stayed trotting last week but was outfinished when it counted; DiDomenico trainee should be in line for a perfect trip if she behaves herself again. (6) SCOOBY GOO arrives from Philly after breaking his maiden on the front end; Stratton picks up the drive. (3) LOVE TRUMPS HATE has raced well here in the past for Troy Beyer.
Race 3 - $15,000/$20,000 Claiming
(7) MATT MAJOR has been very sharp since moving to the Banca barn and he has the early speed to overcome the outside post, work out a winning trip and take his third straight. (4) MASTER THE VIEW has totally turned things around in his last three and may be sharp enough to tackle a bit tougher. (1) WILD WEST has remained sharp forever at the $12,500 level and now bumps up a notch but he does draw best in this handicap race. (8) JK HEAEVEN SENT would probably be the pick here if not for the awful post.
Race 4 – NW3 or $25,000 lifetime
(4) CISCO PAL gets Brennan in the bike with his regular driver not in action tonight and the Erv Miller trainee doesn’t seem to have much to beat. (7) MUFASA AS was a decent second upon arrival for the Lorentzon barn and the only problem here is the post. (6) DEW CAN DEW has been good for Chuck Connor, Jr. but I would have liked to have seen a catch-driver listed. (1) AMADA BLUE CHIP has had limited success versus statebreds for Toscano and was Stratton’s choice.
Race 5 – F&M NW5000 in last 5 starts
(3) MISCHIEVIOUSGIRLS didn’t fire last week off the barn change to Bamond but that was a race with a heavy favorite cruising on the front end; perhaps the mare will have more to offer second start out at a healthy price. (2) KEYSTONE NIKKI looks like the main speed here going for two straight. (5) DELILAH DE VIE raced evenly upon arrival from Tioga and could have a bit more to offer. (1) HURRIKANE CALLEIGH has been close up in her last few in Pennsylvania.
Race 6 – NW4 or $50,000 lifetime
(3) LIGHTS COME ON broke at odds-on in his last local try but followed that up with a solid runner-up effort in the Excelsior final; trotter can take these the distance tonight. (5) WISHYOU’DTELL ME landed in a nice spot from the eight hole last week and looked to have a big chance but broke; he definitely deserves another chance here. (4) BROADWAY MUSCLES raced very well at a big price last out and Jordan Stratton drives again for his brother. (1) PHOTO BOMBER has speed and the best post for Tony Schadel.
Race 7 – NW5000 in last 5 starts
(1) SCOUTS REPORT just missed from the eight hole upon arrival from Canada and these shippers from up North joining the Blackler barn with Bartlett has been a good angle; good chance to make amends tonight from the rail. (6) CANBEC KINGKAZIMIR can be excused for tiring last week off that brutal trip and the Bob Bongiorno trainee deserves another serious look here. (2) GALACTIC GALLEON N gets post relief for Vallee and should be right there throughout. (5) JACKAMINO closed belatedly in his local return and Stratton drives again.
Race 8 – NW8 or $100,000 lifetime
(1) BRADY BUNCH is no cinch tonight with some good ones in here but the Erv Miller trainee definitely deserves top billing. (2) TOPSPIN S will be close up throughout, maybe riding a pocket trip depending if there are any outside leavers willing to take a chance. (7) HANOVERS BEST and (8) FEEL INVINCIBLE AS are a couple of nice filly trotters that seem to fit well in here but are severely hampered by their outside posts; maybe one or both could sneak in there at a price.
Race 9 – NW5000 in last 5 starts
(3) GHOST DANCE has come up a bit lacking in the late stages in his two starts after shipping in but this looks like a good spot for the Blackler trainee to carry his speed a long way. (7) FIREBALL was reasonably competitive in $40K claimers just a few starts back and it’s hard not to consider him at this basement level despite the tough outside post. (1) VAGANOVA was aggressively handled in last two starts with poor results but he draws best again and could have more to offer with a more relaxed trip. (4) EXIT CAM has finally shown a bit of live recently.
Race 10 – NW10000 in last 5 starts
(5) PROVOCATIVEPRINCEN showed major signs of life last week with a solid second-place effort to a classy winner; Stratton is back driving and the veteran is clearly the one to beat. (1) ELWELL has been getting better every week and drops another notch in class; Laterza trainee should be a player. (2) CAPOZZO moves all the way back inside and always gives a good accounting of himself from favorable posts. (1) AMERICANFIREWATER has speed from the best draw and expect Merton to take full advantage of that.
Race 11 – NW15000 in last 5 starts
(4) ROCKIN INTHE HILLS returns from Pocono off two big front-end efforts and similar-type race will get the job done here. (3) TOATSMYGOATS hasn’t been at his absolute sharpest recently but he hasn’t been bad by any means; veteran is a player versus this type. (1) ARTIFACT HANOVER blasted down the road last week and almost made it; I suspect he’ll be yielding tonight and trying it from a stalking spot. (2) PERFECTLY CLOSE gets some class relief and draws well. Also consider (8) SOHO WALLSTREET A from top connections but the eight hole is tough.
