Race 1
(2) BET TOGETHER was a solid two-move winner versus similar last Sunday and now he draws an improved post; why can't he repeat? (3) DIRTY DEVIL was second best to the top choice last out and has been solid at this basement claiming level. (4) STATION THREEOHSIX plummets to the bottom and is priced to sell; interesting.
Race 2
(2) BLUE SPARK moves to the Burke barn via private purchase and she's actually been very good in her last three for her prior connections, proving that she belongs with these; have to believe the 15/1 morning line is a pipe dream. (3) TOBER was out a long way last week and flattened out; nose on gate today helps his cause. (1) HERE'S THE MAGIC gets much-needed post relief for Banca/Bartlett.
Race 3
(9) BUEN CAMINO has raced very well in all recent for Smedshammer and is way overdue for a win. (8) HEMI SEELSTER saw his modest winning streak come to an abrupt halt last out then he took a week off; obviously his best effort can take this. (6) TACO TUESDAY behaved himself for his new barn; threat if he stays trotting.
Race 4
(2) SWEET JUSTICE was sent down the road last out, which isn't his game, and he made a break turning home. In a field with no standouts he could be a good price reverting to stalking tactics. (12) ANOTHER BREATH broke in his local debut; give him another look at an improved price. (1) MONROE COUNTY makes her second start at this reduced level and she draws best.
Race 5
(4) BROOKLYN BOND raced willingly out of the eight hole last week and he's beaten better than these in the past. (9) BINGO QUEEN drops to the level of her last win. (3) FIRE IN MY HEART doesn't have very good current form but he does hail from the top driver/trainer combo.
Race 6
(4) OMAHA SET HUT added the trotting hobbles and qualified nicely; always a big angle. (6) ME THE BOSS faltered badly in his two local starts after shipping in for Allard; maybe off-the-pace will work better. (1) CASSA'S IMAGE draws best and picks up Brennan; veteran has some back class.
Race 7
(5) TREASURE KEYS K returns locally and note he was flying home four back when Bartlett was in the sulky. (1) CALIPARI has been a disappointment off the recent claim but last week's start was better. (4) TAROT has little form but he does take a needed drop in class.
Race 8
(4) WESTERN CREDIT has been a solid second-place finisher in his last two; time for the Allard trainee to graduate. (2) ORANGE BIGI gets post relief in his second local return start and could show improvement. (3) ITZAZIAM blew the field away last week in 1:56 3/5 so I'm surprised he's right back in for the $12,500 tag; red flag?
Race 9
(2) HILARIOUS HERO draws well again and can take this with an aggressive drive. (3) KRONWALL is up in class off an easy score. (7) CLOUD NINE HANOVER returns locally but if memory serves me he's not at his best over the half-mile track.
Race 10
(4) AMELIOSI is clearly the most accomplished in here at this NW8 level and looms the one to beat, but she is out of this lucrative class with a win. (3) JIMMY WILLIAM has clearly been underachieving of late for Takter. (6) ULTIMATE SHOPPER tackles tougher looking for three straight.
Race 11
(1) FASHION CREDITOR has certainly held his own in his last few versus bulky Open fields; class relief and the best draw can get him over the top. (6) DW'S NY YANK has loads of class for Burke and is always a threat to take them the distance. (3) AWSOME VALLEY is reunited with Bartlett and they teamed up for two wins here a couple of months ago.
Race 12
(5) ANNUITY is up in class off a blowout win and seems sharp enough to repeat. (1) WILD BILL M could't sustain an uncovered move last week; Harmon trainee should be in line for a better trip today. (3) CHOCOLATE CRACKERS is up in class off a win for the hot Dane, Jr. barn.
