Yonkers: Sunday 8/27 Analysis

Best Bet: TEMPSTER HANOVER (1st)

Spot Play: NEWCASTLE (5th)

MEET STATS: 328 - 937 / $1,802.20

BEST BETS: 46 - 80 / $154.40

Race 1

(4) TEMPSTER HANOVER couldn't reach last week from a tough post versus better; gelding has looked good since arriving locally for DiDomenico and faces nothing special here. (3) CHEYENNE REIDER was a solid winner last out for a low percentage outfit and he's clearly capable of repeating. (1) BARRY'S SHELBY was awful off the Banca claim but I guess the fact that he's back in the box for the same price can be viewed as a positive.

Race 2

(6) CRAZY ABOUT PAT can drive everyone crazy with his erratic behavior but if he's on his game today he will destroy these. (4) OMAHA SET HUT has looked much better with the hobbles added. (2) BROOKLYN BOND is another erratic type but he's had his moments here and was Stratton's choice.

Race 3

(5) DARK POOL has looked very good in all recent and he was Goodell's choice over a classier rival he also won with last week. (4) AUSPICIOUS HANOVER rolled by nicely late in that added-distance event last week and he's back in for the same price but as mentioned his pilot opted elsewhere. (8) CHARLES VII fits well with this type but will have to overcome the eight hole; fires early?

Race 4

(6) DW'S NY YANK clearly has not been at his best recently but the Burke trainee has plenty of class and having his nose on the gate today will help his cause. (2) SPRINGBANK SAM N takes another drop in class while looking to regain his form; impossible to ignore anything Tritton sends out. (1) ROCK OF CASHEL hasn't won in a while but he moves back inside and was Gregory's choice.

Race 5

(8) NEWCASTLE drops in class in his second start since moving to the DiDomenico barn and he does have plenty of early speed to overcome the outside post. (4) ANOTHER BREATH went a big eight-hole try last week in a tough beat and the trotting hobbles seemed to have helped him. (2) MADMAN HALL may be better suited for a lower level but Stratton's choice can be considered for a share.

Race 6

(8) IN SECRET has looked powerful in two starts off the Burke purchase and I'll swing again despite the eight hole assignment, (5) TACO TUESDAY has been behaving himself since moving to the Harmon barn and Stratton's back driving. (4) RUBBER DUCK may be tailing off but he gets an interesting driver switch to Holland.

Race 7

(1) BIG BILL BREEZE drops to the basement, faces a rather dull field and should be handled aggressively by Lachance. (7) CONSOLIDATOR ships from Ohio, joins the Allard barn and was big earner as a three-year-old; mare should be the only threat to the top choice. (3) MR PROTAB is tough to take as a win proposition but he should be sitting close up.

Race 8

(6) LANDONFITZ gets a professional driver in the bike today and faces a rather blank field. (3) CASSA'S IMAGE has some early speed at her disposal. (8) MASSIVE TALENT may be sharpest here but is stuck outside.

Race 9

(7) KEENAN used to be better than this and he gets a huge driver change to Stratton. (3) EXPRESSIVE ACTION finished with good trot last week at a big price and he can build of that effort. (1) DRAZZMATAZZ has some speed and the best post.

Race 10

(4) BRANDO'S MUSCLE MAN couldn't seal the deal last week but I'll give him another try to go the distance. (5) SIM BROWN can leave the gate with the top choice and find an early seat. (6) PC'S WILDCARD just missed last week and may also be forwardly placed here.

Race 11

(4) SCREAMING CONWAY just missed last week at a big price in a solid effort; that's two good efforts in a row for this gelding. (2) MUSCLES ON FIRE is the horse to beat but needs to be kept closer to the action early. (7) MIGHTY SURF wilted on the front end under late pressure last week; filly will likely be coming from off the pace today and she can land a share.

Race 12

(2) KANTHAKA was super-impressive upon shipping in and joining the DiDomenico barn and he may have more to offer; Holland's choice. (4) FASHION CREDITOR has quietly had a solid season, recently going over the 100K earnings mark. (6) ROSE RUN PARKER is an Open commodity when right.
