Best Bet: ENJOY THE JOURNEY (10th)
Spot Play: SOUTHERN CROSS (11th)
MEET STATS: 301 - 853 / $1,672.70
BEST BETS: 41 - 73 / $137.60
Race 1
(3) TESACO DU PONT gets a better starting spot in his second try at this reduced level and seems to be running out of excuses. (4) STEMLIT TOUCH gets a driver upgrade to Brennan. (1) FIJI has speed with the best draw; close up throughout.
Race 2
(6) HONOR AND SERVE gets Dube in the bike today in his local return and he's raced decently in his last few at Pocono. (5) LILY'S SWAN POND has had some success with this type here in the past and he may be aggressively handled from this spot. (2) GET TO DOIN IT hit the ticket in his last two versus slightly lesser.
Race 3
(8) HOMICIDE HUNTER took last week off after four powerful performances; despite being assigned outside having the nose on gate will be beneficial and working to the lead shouldn't be all that tough. (7) HEMI SEELSTER was a bit short in the late stages last week but he still poses a serious threat. (10) TACO TUESDAY upset last week and has looked good for his new barn but he loses Stratton today.
Race 4
(6) TIRADE HANOVER has been pretty sharp for Allard and can come from on or off the pace from this spot. (2) NON STICK was in too deep last Saturday on Hambo day but she was a solid winner the start prior. (3) NEWCASTLE moves into the DiDomenico barn and could show improvement.
Race 5
(4) DW'S NY YANK may have too much class for these and the Burke trainee should find a way to win this. (5) TOBER finished willingly last week and should be in line for a smoother trip here. (10) J A T O hails from Svanstedt and raced okay when last at Yonkers.
Race 6
(2) WINDSUN FIREBALL ran well here two back and was Bartlett's choice. (1) GONNAKISSMEORNOT has been slow to get underway this season but she draws best here and anything from Allard has to be respected. (3) I WANT KANDY ships in from Canada with some good half-mile form.
Race 7
(3) HES A CASTOFF never got involved last out but was a winner versus similar the start prior. (4) ME THE BOSS was a bit better last week coming from off the pace. (5) HIDDEN IDENTITY exits the amateur ranks, drops in for the bottom tag and seems a major threat if ready.
Race 8
(4) BINGO QUEEN was a winner last time at this level and this distance; Goodell drives today and he's been looking pretty live in the bike recently. (7) BROOKLYN BOND faltered at this level last week but will be a much better price today. (3) LAUDERDALE is a threat to take these the distance but he'll need to show more late.
Race 9
(2) CHARLES VII jogged three back from a similar spot for Bartlett/Banca. (4) CRAZY ABOUT PAT qualified with the hobbles added; he has back class and looks like the main threat here. (1) PANAMANIAN HANOVER may appreciate the change in venue,
Race 10
(3) ENJOY THE JOURNEY jogged last week versus similar at the added distance; now she shortens back to a mile and can easily repeat. (1) PIXEL QUEEN has been racing well at Monti and could fit in nicely here. (6) NOBLE POWER doesn't win often but seems capable of hitting the ticket.
Race 11
(5) SOUTHERN CROSS almost took these the distance last week getting caught by a sharp rival; he deserves a long look off that effort. (1) TRUEMASS VOLO finally gets a good post to work with. (3) THE ROYAL HARRY has Bartlett driving today but hasn't looked that great in his last couple.
Race 12
(1) ARCHERY almost prevailed last out going down the road from the rail; perhaps he lasts to the wire this time. (6) MUSCLES ON FIRE seems to be the one to beat but may need to get involved early for his best chance. (2) SODA PUMP has trotted evenly in his two local starts.
