Yonkers: Sunday 8/12 Analysis

Best Bet: NORTHERN CREDIT (9th)

Spot Play: TRIUMPHANT’S CHIP (10th)

MEET STATS: 329 - 915 / $1,842.20

BEST BETS: 46 - 78 / $150.70

Race 1

(9) ANDY RAY rallied very nicely for second two back with Bartlett in the bike and followed that up with another steady effort; main question here is the missed time. (1) BUEN CAMINO has been close in his last couple and looms the one to beat, but probably won't offer much value. (2) MUSCLE AVE is up in class today off a sharp front-end score.

Race 2

(8) BARRY BLACK was held at bay by a sharp and well-rated rival in (9) ALPHA D'URZY last week but it was still a good effort; I'm inclined to giver him another chance at a better price for the hot Bucci barn. The latter has taken four straight for Allard since arriving from France but he has the added twist of the second-tier start today. (5) ADAGIO DE LA TOUR get some post improvement in his second start for Banca.

Race 3

(1) KENNEL BUDDY made a break in his debut off the claim for these connections but has looked good in three subsequent starts; he lands a good inside post and Stratton sticks. (6) DEYEYSER has been close up in his last two and he picks up Sears today; Fanning trainee looks like a player. (3) HIGH BLUE has raced well out of town off the Dane, Jr. claim.

Race 4

(2) STARSABOVEALLERAGE gets a big driver upgrade to Bartlett and draws well in a race without much current form. (7) BLUE SWAN was actually Stratton's choice over the top one and he rallied mildly in his last local start; post hurts but the price should be nice. (1) LIMERENCE is rated at 8/5 on the morning line...can't understand why but he certainly has a live shot from this spot.

Race 5

(5) MOSTINTERESTINGMAN faces some formidable foes today but he's just too sharp to go against. (7) HOMICIDE HUNTER is a world-class trotter who is obviously capable of overcoming his outside post assignment. (3) NF HAPPENSTANCE was a good second to the top choice last week and he could have a tactical advantage with his solid early speed.

Race 6

(4) TOUR DE LINDY has had some good local races here recently and he gets top billing in a race where it's hard to get excited about anyone. (2) KEYSTONE APACHE lands a better post and should be close to the action. (3) ANNAPOLIS HALL threw in a clunker last week in an added-distance event; Schnittker charge was a winner the start prior.

Race 7

(1) BEACH CREDIT was a fortunate winner two back but followed that up with a solid second-place finish last week; Allard trainee is clearly the one to beat from this spot. (4) KEYSTONE CHARGER moved to the Jenn Bongiorno barn last week but gave way off a tough uncovered trip; Bartlett drives today and he should be leaving the gate. (5) ONLY PASSING THRU rallied well last week upon arrival and he should be a late threat again.

Race 8

(1) DW'S NY YANK faces some good rivals here but the veteran should have a tactical edge and can take these wire-to-wire. (3) CHARMED LIFE lands in a much better spot today and the mare will likely be the main threat. (2) BLUEBIRD JESSE put in an improved effort last week.

Race 9

(2) NORTHERN CREDIT won as he pleased last out, faces much of the same, and the Bongiorno trainee will look to repeat at odds-on. (3) J S MISS CAROLYN flattened out after an uncovered move into the top choice but could better that placing with a smoother trip. (6) THE LIONKING AS acclimated well upon arrival last week with a good second to a heavy favorite.

Race 10

(8) TRIUMPHANT'S CHIP had a rough go of it from the eight hole in his local return but still rallied nicely for a board spot; he's stuck outside again but deserves a follow-up play. (6) SUPER MANNING gets a big driver change to Bartlett and this veteran has plenty of speed and back class. (5) BINGO QUEEN hasn't been at her best recently but it's hard to totally ignore her at this level.

Race 11

(4) DEO never got involved last week in that French-bred event but he was likely a winner the start prior at this level before breaking; Brennan's back in the bike. (5) KONNICHIWA was caught up in a fast mile at Pocono in his debut for the Allard barn; his speed makes him a player in here. (3) CARSON HILL was a good second at a big price last out.

Race 12

(1) KANTHAKA takes a much-needed drop in class and gets Brennan in the bike; top billing from the best post. (4) SHOWMEYOURGUNS was off in a tangle last week with an amateur in the bike; Stratton's back today. (8) NEWCASTLE couldn't handle a two-move effort at the added distance upon moving to the Bongiorno barn; he's got speed to overcome the outside draw.
