Yonkers: Sunday 5/28 Analysis

Matt Rose|May 26, 2017
Yonkers logo

Best Bet: SPEED IT (4th)

Spot Play: JAILHOUSE JESSICA (1st)

MEET STATS: 199 - 565 / $1,125.70

BEST BETS: 26 - 49 / $86.70

Race 1

(3) JAILHOUSE JESSICA finished willingly upon arrival from Pompano and it seems pretty logical that she'll progress forward off that effort. (4) PINE TAB returns locally and gets Brennan in the bike. (5) HES A CASTOFF was a decent second at this level two back.

Race 2

(2) PIERCEWAVE HANOVER was shaken off by two classy rivals in his last two local appearances and from this spot the Allard trainee can play bully. (4) KEYSTONE SAPHIRE doesn't have much of a record the last two seasons but she seems well-mannered and has speed. (8) DRIVING MISS CRAZY was a huge winner last out but will have to do it again from the eight hole.

Race 3

(2) DEWYLOVERNLEAVER has behaved himself in his last two and assuming he minds his manners today he can take this field coast-to-coast. (1) FIRE IN MY HEART has been a steady commodity and he draws best. (4) TRUEMASS VOLO hails from the Jeff Gregory barn, which is no longer a secret, and can be considered.

Race 4

(2) SPEED IT has been a winning machine and his one blemish was a break when last here locally, and even after that he finished with plenty; he's clearly the one to beat here. (1) MACHO MASS is another new Gregory trainee who gets needed post relief. (6) BLUE SPARK hasn't really put in a bad effort since arriving at Yonkers and she can be considered underneath at a big price.

Race 5

(7) BARN DOLL has had a couple of weeks on the sidelines to freshen up and the mare has quickly proven she can compete with this type; with some action up front and a live flow she can charge home. (1) WINGS OF ROYALTY raced very well here last year in limited action. (3) HEMI SEELSTER was game in defeat last week and appears back in top form.

Race 6

(4) CASH ME OUT was a solid winner two back beating Charmed Life, then broke leaving last out recovering with trot; a live trip can take this at what should be a healthy enough price. (7) DW'S NY YANK is a millionaire and a proven commodity over this surface; threat. (8) TIGHT LINES performed decently last out at The Meadowlands in the Graduate after adding Lasix.

Race 7

(5) AGGRESSIVE battled hard last week at Pocono losing to a handful of horses who would all beat this type; I expect him to be close up in this bulky field. (6) THERESADEMONINME also faces softer and picks up Sears. (12) TRIUMPHANT'S CHIP has ability when he stays trotting and he'll be a huge price here.

Race 8

(3) MILITARY BLUE was priced to sell and was claimed for $20,000 last out; trotter has had his moments here in the past and could pay instant dividends. (4) TIME OUTA JAIL hasn't been bad since shipping in for Burke; threat. (9) NEWCASTLE has raced well with and beaten better than these in the past.

Race 9

(4) LE TISSIER has quietly carved out a nice little season and he should be close enough to strike from this spot. (5) CASINO CUTIE IT clearly has ability and trainer William Mullin enlists another catch-driver. (8) PHAT STACKS has the early speed to overcome the outside post.

Race 10

You know what you are getting going in with (4) BINGO QUEEN. If she is in the mood and minds her manners she will grind these down. (1) TIRADE HANOVER moved to the Allard barn and promptly broke at 1/5; clearly the veteran is capable of rebounding. (6) BATTLE MAGE seems to be getting some needed class relief.

Race 11

(6) TESACO DU PONT is reunited with Holland who steered him to a win a few back going about a mile and a half; veteran gets top billing in a race with no standouts. (2) TAROT gets needed post relief and could show more. (3) FORT VALLEY AS is the controlling speed but he needs to show more late.

Race 12

(1) PICTURE THIS has been decent of late and lands the best post in a race devoid of a standout. (6) CAULFIELD has been racing well out of town. (4) JUST MAKE BELIEVE does have early speed and could be close up throughout.
