Yonkers: Sunday 12/2 Analysis

Matt Rose|Nov 30, 2018
Yonkers logo

Best Bet: ADAGIO DE LA TOUR (5th)

Spot Play: SUPER MANNING (8th)

MEET STATS: 505 - 1423 / $2,735.10

BEST BETS: 71 - 124 / $229.90

Race 1

(3) EX HANOVER has looked very solid taking two straight since hitting town and Dube drove her flawlessly both times; stay on board. (1) WINNING SHADOW has looked solid since moving to the Burke barn but he loses Brennan, who isn't driving on the card. (2) BLACK MAMBA AS has had a solid 3-year-old season and ships in for good trotting connections giving the Yonkers half-miler a try.

Race 2

(1) SMALLTOWNTHROWDOWN woke up in a huge way in his return to Yonkers and the bump up in class shouldn't matter at all; Allard trainee is clearly the one to deny here. (8) WESLYNN DANCER was the play last week and she didn't disappoint; only problem today is the post. (6) BARN BELLA returns locally for Smedshammer and she needs to generate some early speed for her best chance.

Race 3

(1) TWO AM was just 'okay' last week running third best at odds-on; Buter trainee gets Bartlett in the bike today and deserves another chance. (7) MONEY MAVEN tightened nicely versus much cheaper at Freehold and when on his game the Julie Miller trainee is a high-conditioned trotter. (9) CHESTNUT SCHOFIELD is an interesting Canadian shipper who joins the Allard barn and deserves consideration.

Race 4

(2) TROPICAL SPLASH AS just missed off a pocket trip after flashing good speed upon arrival and the DiDomenico trainee looks like a good fit from this spot. (4) CHAPTER AND RUTH had good late energy once clear last week and Bartlett sticks with him. (3) GRAMMY WINNER has ability when she minds her manners, which she failed to do last week in her local return; this isn't a bad starting spot and that 20/1 morning line is enticing.

Race 5

(3) ADAGIO DE LA TOUR was reclaimed by Banca last week and the French import finds a much better spot today. (9) BINGO QUEEN has been trotting just evenly of late but is always capable of a better effort at this level, especially with a smooth trip. (4) CRESURREY should be on the move early but needs to find more late.

Race 6

(4) EXARCH has had a nice 3-year-old season and the Burke-trained invader should fit perfectly in this spot. (5) GIRL TALK was a fairly confident winner last week beating lesser and the filly may have more to offer. (9) LION SAFARI AS was no match last week to a tough winner and he should be a player here again despite the second-tier start.

Race 7

(1) ON THE PODIUM was second best in the Billings final last week right off the Allard claim and now he gets Dube in the bike while facing some questionable rivals. (7) BARRY BLACK gets much-needed class relief and also picks up Stratton; only problem is the post. (6) CHROMEO ships in for Smedshammer and has raced well when he stayed flat.

Race 8

(5) SUPER MANNING has always had speed and class to him, and now the veteran gets a huge driver change from the owner to Bartlett. (2) SHAWNEE BEAUTY didn't fire late last week after getting shuffled and now she goes to another new barn via claim (Allard) and should be a player here. (9) GLOBAL REVOLUTION was a winner when last at this NW5000 level.

Race 9

(6) ANDY RAY was a sharp and well-meant winner last week and there's no reason why he can't repeat. (4) MOSTINTERESTINGMAN is feeling good again and has been competitive at this top level in the past. (7) JACK VERNON is razor-sharp but has to overcome the post handicap.

Race 10

(4) HOT DEUCE has sharp speed off the gate which could set him up nicely at a price. (1) PERFECT BET has had a solid season and certainly is logical from this spot. (7) SOMEWHERE FANCY would be the top choice if not for the post but the Allard trainee still looms a solid threat from out there.
