Yonkers: Sunday 11/4 Analysis

Matt Rose|Nov 02, 2018

Best Bet: NEW HEAVEN (1st)

Spot Play: LION SAFARI AS (5th)

MEET STATS: 468 - 1298 / $2,499.80

BEST BETS: 66 - 112 / $212.60

Race 1

(1) NEW HEAVEN has really turned it around in his last three, including a win at this distance two back; Burke trainee looks like the one to defeat in the Sunday morning opener. (2) ABC MUSCLES BOY was a winner here four back and has maintained good form at Pocono for Allard. (6) KINETIC KING may be too far back to win it but he should be closing for a piece.

Race 2

(2) THE LAST CHAPTER hit a rough patch for a few starts but has looked much better recently; 4-year-old draws a nice inside post and could be set up with a live trip at a decent price. (5) ELYSIUM LINDY returns locally for Burke and has been right there in all recent starts. (8) SUCH AN ANGEL drops for the third consecutive start and seems to have a shot here if Goodell can hustle him away from the gate.

Race 3

(9) BINGO QUEEN has been racing competitively at Yonkers seemingly forever and she's a good fit at this NW10000 level; Wieder trainee would be no surprise with any sort of live trip. (3) UNDICI has looked much, much better in his last two; Bartlett sticks with the French import. (4) KARETS has had his moments here in the past.

Race 4

(2) DELCREST MASSY has hit the board in his last three tries at this level and does have experience with this added-distance; in this wide-open event his 15/1 morning line looks pretty appealing. (9) MR POWERS had good trot between those breaks last week; he can be a player with a smooth second-tier trip and if he minds his manners. (1) ROYAL BACHELOR drops in class off a decent two-move try last out.

Race 5

(9) LION SAFARI AS had too far to come in his local debut for good connections but that was clearly a needed start; Bartlett sticks with him and he should be much tighter today. (5) FLY FLY SELENA arrived from Canada, where she raced very well, and she looks like a good fit here. (4) SECRET BRO was Stratton's choice for a barn that's been rather live recently.

Race 6

(3) TOBER has quietly worked his way back to the higher conditioned levels and the veteran has good tactical speed from a good post. (4) DRAZZMATAZZ could not reach from the outside post last week but this is a better spot and he'll be coming late. (7) SHOWMEYOURGUNS has performed very well since moving to the Temming barn.

Race 7

(2) MEADOWBRANCH RICKY raced well to pick up a minor share from a tough spot upon arrival; post relief here can get him over the top. (7) VATANNA tried getting involved last week but succumbed to the tough outer post; mare lands outside again but seems capable with some racing luck. (1) DEO has just been 'ok' recently but at least he's staying flat with the trotting hobbles.

Race 8

(3) DW'S NY YANK is clearly feeling good again and the Burke-trained millionaire can take another with this extremely generous spot on the gate (considering he was the Open winner last week). (6) GRUDEN was nailed by the top choice last out, could happen again, no? (1) SORTIE has something to prove versus this type but note the driver change to Sears.

Race 9

(1) SHAWNEE BEAUTY and (5) BLUE SWAN figure to be disputing the early action and they may very well end up sitting one-two here; either trotter could take this. (3) O U SEXY GUY closed well last out, clearly could do so again.

Race 10

In a very forgettable Sunday finale, (5) DONTTELLVIOLA finished well two back then was pressed early on the lead and rolled into a break; it's hard to like anyone here and this filly may offer the best price. (2) ALVISI HANOVER broke last week at Philly but was good the start prior, which was his first for the Mark Ford barn. (6) CHAPTER AND RUTH was Bartlett's choice and may try leaving the gate.
