Best Bet: IN SECRET (9th)
Spot Play: CRAZY ABOUT PAT (6th)
MEET STATS: 421 - 1212 / $2,296.00
BEST BETS: 60 - 103 / $198.70
Race 1
(6) BELLA BEE BABY shipped east from Iowa, joined the Rob Harmon barn and promptly won at Pocono; stick with the angle that works. (4) ANNAPOLIS HALL was a sharp local winner two back. (5) FLAMINGO PETE is another of these magical Iowa fair shippers that must be considered.
Race 2
(6) WATKINS tackles tougher today going the added-distance but last week he was sharp in victory and the veteran has been known to string consecutive good efforts together; should be a price in this wide-open event. (5) TACO TUESDAY has looked awful lately but if he shows up to work today he can blow these away. (2) PLATOON SEELSTER never wins but he should be on the move late for a share.
Race 3
(5) LUMINOSITY has been a bit of a disappointment this season but he was a sharp winner in his latest out of town and he was facing much better when last seen locally. (1) SPRINGBANK SAM N has managed to bank over $142K this year despite only one victory for Tritton and the veteran is certainly overdue. (10) TRUEMASS VOLO has been racing well for Gregory down at Philly and he didn't disgrace himself in his last two versus much tougher.
Race 4
(3) ROSE RUN SPEEDSTER ships from Canada for Team Allard and he had been racing well up there in Ontario sired events; 3-year-old could prove to be a good fit here. (2) ULTIMATE SHOPPER always puts in a solid effort when she minds her manners. (1) MAJESTIC MISTRESS faces a bit tougher today off a nice win and she can grind a long way.
Race 5
(1) SOUTHWIND CRUZE gets a barn change to Rene Allard and he does show a nice win over this surface in an Excelsior event a couple of months ago; this is a wide-open event where most are in with a chance. (3) TICKET TO SEATTLE jogged versus much lesser at Monticello for her new connections and she was racing well up in Canada prior to that. (10) LEET HANOVER was a sharp front-end winner last out for Dube/Svanstedt but she'll have to come from off the pace today.
Race 6
(4) CRAZY ABOUT PAT moves into the Garcia-Herrera barn in hopes that will help turn this veteran around; worth considering on that angle. (5) LILY'S SWAN POND is up in class off an easy win and he's raced well with this type in the past. (2) SECOND SISTER gets Bartlett in the bike for her local return but is tough to take at her 2/1 morning line.
Race 7
(1) WILD SMILE isn't the most prolific winner but he's been holding his own versus better and really should be able to handle these. (9) BRICKYARD CLASSIC returns locally at the bottom level and will be heard from late for Baynes. (6) WESTERN CREDIT has been a fixture at this $12,500 claiming level for Allard and he can land a share as usual.
Race 8
(7) I C CAVIAR is the sharpest trotter in here and he has handled the added-distance in the past; Bartlett will have him in the game early. (8) TORNADO TIM has missed some time but he's looked better in recent efforts and he has too much back class to ignore. (2) GABE THE BEAR DEAN is still looking for his first seasonal victory.
Race 9
Draw a line through (7) IN SECRET'S last race, where he had the eight hole in the International Trot. Burke trainee should resume winning ways versus these. (5) HOME'N DRY looks for three straight and is arguably in career form. (2) CENTURION ATM is inconsistent but certainly has the ability.
Race 10
(4) PURE KEMP shipped from Mohawk to join the Lachance barn but seemed too revved up early and fizzled out with Dube driving; perhaps with Lachance in the bike today she tries off-the-pace tactics. (2) HOLIDAY PROMISE has looked good in her two local appearances. (8) CHAPTER TOO was a NYSS finalist but needs to find a way into the race from the eight hole.
Race 11
(4) UP THE ALLEY has been a solid performer all season up at Saratoga and he picks up leading driver Bartlett here promising to offer a decent price in this competitive event. (2) WINGS OF ROYALTY changed barns last week and broke; prior efforts were solid and hopefully they have him figured out. (7) KANTHAKA can be a late threat with the right setup.
Race 12
(4) CAREN GARLAND raced well in her last two local efforts and faces a field with no standouts. (5) RUFAS DE VIE moves in a couple of spots and should be more involved. (1) CHILI raced decently last out, his second start since the move to the Allard barn.
