Yonkers: Saturday 9/29 Analysis

Matt Rose|Sep 27, 2012

MEET STATS: 261 - 798 / $1360.90

Best Bet: DYNAMIC YOUTH (9th) Spot Play: STEUBEN LONE PINE (5th)

Race 1

(2) DEFIANCE N has been racing well of late and he finally gets some post relief; big threat in the opener. (1) ELECTRIC OUI has tailed off, but he gets another crack from the rail. (6) TOBAGO CAYS bumps up off a loss; hard to endorse as the morning line favorite.

Race 2

(4) VIXEN jogged in that qualifier with the hobbles added; speedy filly could head to the front and forget to stop. (2) BOUNCING BAX has been a solid earner for the elder Raymer. (3) CRAZY ABOUT NY draws well and the fact that Morrill is driving will make her a force here.

Race 3

(3) RUCKUS has a nice closing kick but also a bit of a breaking problem; obviously if he stays flat he's got a big shot. (8) THERAPUTIC gapped and broke when it counted last out at odds-on; better price tonight from post eight? (4) EX KING overcame a break last out to hit the board.

Race 4

(2) GREATDAYFORAMERICA hasn't raced that badly in her two local appearances and she doesn't face any true standouts in this small field; maybe. (1) ROAD BET has speed, draws best with Brennan driving. (5) ARIA J has Morrill driving for Toscano, has to overcome the outside post.

Race 5

(2) STEUBEN LONE PINE has always raced well here and has gotten along with Brennan; lots to like from this inside post. (5) STARGLOW HALL could threaten at her best for the Ryder barn. (4) BARBARA GOLDSTEIN shows a win here in NYSS action two back; she merits consideration off that feat.

Race 6

(1) SCALPED was a game second when last seen locally, and she showed ability in the Sheppard; from the rail, Montrell Teague should try to go down the road. (6) TRACK MASTER D beat the top choice last out, and Bartlett will be trying for good early position here. (3) SIR CARYS Z TAM is yet another Lachance trainee that will be showing a nice closing kick.

Race 7

(1) DWS NY YANK hasn't been all that bad facing the top 3-year-old trotting stock; why not take a shot with him, especially from the rail with Morrill driving. (5) CLASSIC CONWAY took an overnight field the distance at Vernon in preparation for this event. (7) JOEY CHESTNUT has some speed and it's likely Gregory won't be sitting last here.

Race 8

(1) BETTOR B LUCKY just missed winning the Jugette; prior to that she was rock-solid in NYSS tests. Burke trainee seems worthy of her $2.10 win price. (2) MARINADE HANOVER has had trouble recently when the money's on the line, but those qualifiers hint at real ability. (7) ANOTHER HANOVER debuts for Garcia-Herrera, interesting.

Race 9

(4) DYNAMIC YOUTH won the Cane at Tioga in 1:48 4/5 and now he faces nothing notable here; another $2.10 win price? (5) RACING ROCKY was a game winner in an overnight event at Pocono. (1) ART OF TEMPTATION has been a steady NYSS earner over his career for the Kaufman barn.

Race 10

(2) BLATANTLY GOOD drops in class after having absolutely no chance last week in the Open; hard to overlook tonight. (1) SOUTHERN ALLIE should be good to go off those two qualifiers. (3) REAL NICE needs no introduction here; he looked fine in those tune-ups.

Race 11

(3) RAFFERTY HANOVER was used early and shuffled out in his debut versus Open types, then was scratched sick. Last week's qualifer shows that he's still sharp and he wouldn't shock me here. (4) AUSSIE REACTOR A has done little wrong since arriving in the States. (2) EAGLE ALL is inside again and he can land a share.

Race 12

(2) P H JACKPOT returns to his preferred venue and he faces no real standouts here; he was Brennan's choice of three. (4) HYPNOTIST moves inside off a no-chance trip. (5) DR CS Z TAM can usually be counted on for a share; Lachance seems to be going well now.

Race 13

(5) MC DYNAMITE exploded past some classy rivals to win going away last week; he can easily repeat despite the rise in class. (3) HICKORY HORACE has disappointed of late, but he still remains a threat from these connections. (2) WINTER RETREAT A is easily in career form right now; hard to ignore.
