Yonkers: Saturday 9/27 Analysis

Matt Rose|Sep 25, 2014
Yonkers logo

MEET STATS: 290 - 840 / $1470.30 BEST BETS: 50 - 69 / $159.80

Best Bet: BJ’S GUY (4th)

Spot Play: DIGITAL Z TAM (11th)

Race 1

(3) P L FIGHTER returns to claimers, gets post relief and should be close enough to reach. (2) MISSISSIPPI HIPPY hasn't been a prolific winner this year but he draws well again and looks like a threat to hit the ticket. (6) MC DYNAMITE has exploded home in two straight and is clearly in top form.

Race 2

(2) NOB HILL HIGH understandably weakened late after a rugged uncovered trip in his second try at this reduced level. (1) LIFE UP FRONT woke up last week with a good pocket-sitting effort. (5) DAVIDS DREAM was hung to dry last week and that effort can be excused.

Race 3

(1) SIR ZIGGY'S Z TAM is the typical Lachance trainee that excels when drawn inside; the rail slot makes him an obvious contender. (4) ISLAND JET hasn't really fired since returning but he does get needed post relief. (3) DULL ROAR took on all sorts of pressure last week before tiring.

Race 4

(2) BJ'S GUY went evenly last week while really having no chance; this looks like a perfect spot for this gelding. (1) CHEYENNE JEFFREY really isn't a candidate to win but he drops, draws best and should work out a live trip. (3) TWIN B FAMOUS returns locally and has the speed to secure good position.

Race 5

(1) BRETT MCFAVRELOUS was second best to a sharp rival who finally put things together last week; he does bump back up a notch in class but he appears to be a big threat with these. (3) COMICBOOK HERO lands back inside for potent connections. (2) DUEL IN THE SUN appeared overmatched upstate in his last two; prior local efforts were good.

Race 6

(6) TAKE IT BACK TERRY really hasn't put in a bad effort in ages and he's proven to be a legitimate Open contender; there could be value to be had with (5) P H SUPERCAM to his inside. The latter gets a break with the post draw tonight and he will attract all the attention. (3) MCERLEAN has been razor-sharp in all recent efforts.

Race 7

(1) CLASSIC ROCK N ROLL returned to Ontario and was overmatched in the Preferred at Mohawk; he fit well here last season. (6) JUSTIFIED is finally forced to move up in class and it will be tougher going tonight. (2) SMOOTH CRIMINAL returns from Pennsylvania with some class relief.

Race 8

(3) DALLENBACH HANOVER gave way last out after flashing speed in the Open; he can be close up again and may be a decent price. (1) SAFE HARBOR has been sharp for quite a while and can be excused for giving way in last week's uncovered effort. (5) FAT MANS ALLEY can never, ever be ignored versus this type.

Race 9

I've never been a serious fan of (6) ARACACHE HANOVER but the Burke trainee does look best here. (4) MY TEMUDJIN N dropped and popped last out; that effort may have bravened him up. (1) AMERICAN VENTURE finally showed what he's capable of last week but he loses Brennan tonight.

Race 10

(4) HERE WE GO AGAIN has to be my top selection almost by default. I assume Bartlett will make the lead with him tonight. (1) SAMANDAR has worked his way back up the class ladder and last week's effort was good. (2) SON OF FERGIE A drops a notch and can be better suited with these.

Race 11

(4) DIGITAL Z TAM has been searching for the right spot. This may be it. (3) SANTANNA ONE pounced from off the pace last week and is obviously a logical contender to repeat. (5) TYBER TYKE has looked good in his two starts for Daniel Gill since shipping from Indiana.

Race 12

(1) HANG TEN bounced right back from a dreadful effort with a good qualifier and he can take this field the distance. (2) DELCO ROCKNROLL will be close up throughout. (4) MACHS BEACH BOY looks like a prime contender but he needs aggressive handling.
