Yonkers: Saturday 9/23 Analysis

Best Bet: GUARDIAN ANGEL AS (5th)
Spot Play: SCOTT ROCKS (7th)
MEET STATS: 371 - 1057 / $2,015.50
BEST BETS: 53 - 90 / $171.90
Race 1
(3) PROVOCATIVEPRINCEN raced much better last out and was second best to a sharp trip-sitting winner; Tritton import is way overdue and should be able to beat these. (1) OH JOHNY BE GOOD N doesn't win often at this level but was close up in last; threat from the rail. (4) MOONLITEONTHEBEACH drops in class and was a winner when last in with this type.
Race 2
(2) SPORTY SPOOK A raced very well to be second best off the Brittany Roberston claim and that barn has been live; gelding can score from just off the pace. (4) MACON GEORGIA A is up in class debuting for new connections but he did look razor-sharp winning last out and looks like a player here. (1) ONE THROUGH TEN has the most speed with the best post and does drop back to the $40K claiming level while picking up Bartlett.
Race 3
(5) DIA MONDE ships in from Canada where he's been in fine form and he lands a midpack post in this less-than-stellar Open trot; looks like a live player here if he can navigate the half-mile track. (7) CELEBRITY EVENTSY has been a very sharp mare and she should be firing from the gate. (3) GEORGIE'S POCKETS didn't fire last out at all but his prior effort was good.
Race 4
(1) TOP FLIGHT ANGEL was the Yonkers Trot winner and followed that up with an easy NYSS score up at Batavia; short price looming from this spot. (4) SEVEN AND SEVEN has been a fringe player in stakes races throughout his career and is an interesting horse to consider here. (6) EYE OFA TIGER AS has been a model of consistency in the NYSS.
Race 5
(3) GUARDIAN ANGEL AS made a very unfortunate break in the Yonkers Trot final but clearly he's best here if he minds his manners. (4) SWELL CHAP looks for three straight in the NYSS and having Sears driving doesn't hurt. (2) OPTIMIST BLUE CHIP has clearly regressed in his last few but note he was an easy winner when last at Yonkers.
Race 6
(6) KEYSTONE VELOCITY returns to the overnight wars and the versatile pacer is capable of overcoming any sort of trip. (5) THE REAL ONE stormed home last week in a visually impressive finish; looks like he is finally rounding back to top form and is a big threat here. (2) SHANE ADAM never fired last week but he's got a much better starting post tonight.
Race 7
(2) SCOTT ROCKS has been super in his last two local starts after a bit of a dry spell racing at Yonkers; Oakes trainee can take all from this good inside starting spot. (6) POLAK A picks up Bartlett and should be on the move early. (1) GRATIAN HANOVER has worked up from the basement to the penthouse since returning to Team Bongiorno.
Race 8
(1) GREAT VINTAGE seems to be slowly rounding back into form and he gets MacDonald in the bike tonight, who always drives with a purpose for Takter. (2) QUICK ASA TRICK N had maintained good form for quite some time now and is a prime player from this spot. (4) ROCK N ROLL LEGACY has been super in two starts since shipping from Canada for Bongiorno but he faces a tougher test tonight.
Race 9
(5) WESTERN FAME never got involved last out from post eight and has missed three weeks of action but he figures to be put into the action tonight. (4) MR D'S DRAGON fits this Open 4-year-old class nicely and is primed for a big share. (3) ROLL AWAY JOE hasn't been bad at all and seems to have a chance here.
Race 10
(2) GUANTANAMO BAY had a nice run this year but now he's priced to sell at the $50K claiming level off a poor efforts; obviously something close to his best effort takes this. (3) BLADE SEELSTER is arguably in career form; must include. (4) NEWBIE should be saving ground close up and can land a share.
Race 11
(3) CRAZSHANA was a winner three back from this post at this level with Merton driving; worth a play in this very competitive event. (4) SUPER MANNING wired them from the eight hole last week; should be on the move early again. (6) DW'S NY YANK looks for two straight and has loads of back class.
Race 12
(8) ARTISTIC MAJOR finds a very soft and questionable NW2000 field tonight and can be considered despite the worst draw. (1) B'S WEDDIE always puts in an honest effort for Dustin Blumenfeld and he should take advantage of the rail spot. (3) ABERDEEN HANOVER fits well here but just doesn't win often enough.
