Yonkers: Saturday 9/22 Analysis

Best Bet: MELODIES MAJOR (4th)
Spot Play: THEARTOFCONFUSION A (10th)
MEET STATS: 392 - 1100 / $2,138.10
BEST BETS: 52 - 93 / $170.90
Race 1
(4) FASHION CREDITOR was a no-match third best to two tough ones last week and he's the most likely winner here getting some class relief. (5) DW'S NY YANK hasn't been that bad recently and has plenty of back class to call upon. (3) BUEN CAMINO has just one seasonal win but we know the Smedshammer trainee is better than that.
Race 2
(3) WINNDEVIE has done everything right in her brief career and her only defeat came at the hands of a killer; Smedshammer trainee draws well and is clearly the one to beat. (5) CONWAY KELLYANNE has two wins over this surface for Charlie Norris and she has good early speed. (6) AMAL HALL should also be on the move early for Andy Miller.
Race 3
(5) GIMPANZEE is a perfect six for six starting his career and has won by open lengths in every start; no reason to think that comes to an end tonight. (3) THUNDER has taken four of five and seems to be getting better with every start; he's clearly the main threat to the top choice and will likely complete a chalky exacta. (7) CHAPTER FASHION broke for no real reason chasing the top choice from the pocket; prior efforts were solid but he will have his work cut out for him getting to the top two tonight.
Race 4
(1) MELODIES MAJOR basically had one hiccup a few starts back but has rebounded nicely and took his last two from off the pace, showing nice versatility. Mark Ford trainee will control his destiny from this spot. (6) HICKFROMFRENCHLICK has two local wins and gets a big driver change to Tim Tetrick. (5) COVERED BRIDGE gets Stratton back in the bike and could offer some value underneath.
Race 5
(2) ST SOMEWHERE took both of his Yonkers starts by open lengths, including an impressive eight hole win in just her second lifetime start; Burke trainee may have a tactical edge from the good inside post. (6) SO AWESOME has been just that for DiDomenico and is clearly the main threat. (7) BROOKLYN LILACS was an easy (yet erratic) winner here in July for a different barn and hasn't really fired her best recently but she'll be a big price and could sneak onto the ticket.
Race 6
In a battle of Svanstedt vs. Toscano (those two trainers have all eight participants), (2) PLUNGE BLUE CHIP is clearly the most accomplished, having been a Hambo Oaks finalist, and was a 1:53 1/5 winner when last seen here. Deserving favorite. (4) LUCKY AVA gets Bartlett in the bike tonight and looks like a number of these fighting for the underneath spots. (1) LIMA NOVELTY was 30 cents on the dollar when last here and didn't fire; obviously you are looking at a much better price tonight if you stay on board.
Race 7
(5) JEWELS FORREAL was bothered when in the midst of a nice rally two back, then was close to (4) WISDOM TREE when they last hooked up. Burke trainee will be a much better price and maybe he can get there with some luck. The latter is clearly the one to beat, and will be right there at a short price. (3) ALEXIS FAITH was the Lady Maud winner, but not very impressively, and she didn't fire in her last start; use caution.
Race 8
(8) THE VETERAN had an awful trip from the eight hole in the Yonkers Trot and followed that up with a tour of the track in the final NYSS prelim but he's arguably as good as any in here and with some racing luck he can be right there at a price. (4) HELPISONTHEWAY chased Six Pack in his last two and will likely took to play bully tonight at a short price. (6) PERLUCKY added Lasix last out and posted the upset score; consider.
Race 9
In a race where it's impossible to play the inconsistent Springsteen at a short price, (3) MY DELIGHT hasn't raced badly at all this season, and had some troubled trips in his last two Yonkers tries. He seems capable enough from this decent post at what should be a nice price. (5) GHOST DANCE put in big efforts on the rim in his last two and looks like a player here; Morrill, Jr. drives tonight. (1) SPRINGSTEEN is the most talented but as mentioned previously he's a 'Jekyll and Hyde' type who is capable of blowing away this field if in the mood.
Race 10
(1) THEARTOFCONFUSION A could not rally last week trying to chase a well-rated pace from the back of the back but he was a solid second the week prior and from this very generous rail assignment he seems more than capable; Sears' choice. (3) CAVIART LUCA is a threat to take these coast to coast, but really had no excuse getting nailed last week. (4) SCOTT ROCKS has been very good in all recent efforts and he's a fringe stakes player when on his game.
Race 11
(6) GRUDEN missed a nose last week to Will Take Charge in a 1:53 2/5 mile; Allard trainee has really blossomed into a top-notch trotter and he deserves top billing here. (2) TIGHT LINES gets some needed post relief and should be more involved. (5) YES MICKEY raced well in defeat in his debut at this Open level.
Race 12
(8) ALWAYS AT MY PLACE is stuck all the way outside with an assigned eight hole but he's likely best here and can take another with a live trip. (4) ROCK THE NITE was burnt up on the front end last week and loses Bartlett but he seems better from off the pace, which seems like the expected trip tonight and he should be a good price. (1) TWOMACSONESHADOW is in career form and deserves a look from the best post.
