Yonkers: Saturday 7/29 Analysis

Matt Rose|Jul 27, 2017
Yonkers logo

Best Bet: NUCLEAR DRAGON (9th)

Spot Play: CAVIART LUCA (12th)

MEET STATS: 273 - 781 / $1,528.90

BEST BETS: 39 - 67 / $132.10

Race 1

(1) BLADE SEELSTER has been razor-sharp for multiple barns and he lands in a perfect spot to either take control or stalk from the pocket. (7) EIGHTEEN has been a cash machine since the Banca/Bartlett purchase and he should be forwardly placed again despite the outside post. (6) BEAT THE DRUM goes for new connections and also has speed which could make things interesting early.

Race 2

(3) SETTLEMOIR hasn't really been at his sharpest recently but the class and post relief plus the switch to Bartlett could help turn things around. (7) CANBEC KINGKAZIMIR has been first or second in his last six races at this $50K claiming level yet he'll still offer value from this spot; include. (2) ONE THROUGH TEN was second best last week and is clearly better suited stalking.

Race 3

(6) ALWAYS AT MY PLACE returns locally off a stellar win at Pocono and he was a fringe Levy player when last seen here; Burke trainee can take these a long way. (4) MCERLEAN is clearly feeling good again and is capable of handling the class hike. (1) THE REAL ONE gets post relief, will take money but is always tough to back for the top spot.

Race 4

(4) MOONLITEONTHEBEACH may be a notch above where he feels comfortable class-wise but his last two have been too sharp to ignore. (7) BLOOD BROTHER returns to Bartlett and just needs to time his move right for a big share. (3) ORILLIA JOE wasn't that bad last week out the mile at a big price.

Race 5

(1) ROCK N' ROLL WORLD has raced pretty well recently in stakes competition and gets a ridiculously generous post here; he may well be an odds-on winner here assigned the rail in a handicap race. (6) DR J HANOVER has loads of early speed and should be on the move early. (5) BETTOREVER looks for two straight for the hot Bamond barn.

Race 6

(6) EVENIN OF PLEASURE was sent down the road in last week's Open and faces pretty much the same group; he should repeat here...post six here is pretty generous considering. (5) GREAT VINTAGE should leave hard like he did last week, potentially release the winner and chase for a share. (4) DYNAMIC YOUTH has been razor-sharp for Cito, Jr.

Race 7

(7) ARTMAGIC was used hard last week and was collared by a sharp well-meant shipper; he has a slight post and speed edge on that rival and will certainly be a better price than he was last out. (2) RODEO ROCK never fired with his best last out but he seems capable of better. (3) MR D'S DRAGON clearly fits with these and will likely be ignored at the windows with an unproven driver.

Race 8

(5) TYBER TYKE had sneaky-good late pace last week and Brennan driving for DiDomenico has been a good angle; worth a look at a decent price. (2) MEETYOUATMIDNIGHT may have a tactical edge on some of these with his early speed and inside draw. (7) PROVOCATIVEPRINCEN is back with Stratton; does he have too far to come?

Race 9

(2) NUCLEAR DRAGON drops, gets much-needed post relief and faces a field with many question marks; top billing. (6) HOLY GRAIL N has finished with pace every week but keeps getting stuck outside; still merits consideration here. (5) DEMOCRACY N is up in class but could be a closing threat.

Race 10

(2) MR HASANI N returns locally for Cassar, who has been heating up of late, and he's looked good at Philly. (1) HEEZ ORL BLACK is in very good form now for Vallee and must me included from this spot. (4) WINDS OF CHANGE was better last week after getting parked early; he'll provide some value tonight with Abbatiello driving.

Race 11

(2) DREAM OUT LOUD N gets away from some of the big boys tonight, draws well and should take full advantage. (6) DOJEA SOLO is up in class here but has good early speed which always makes him dangerous. (5) PRETTY BOY HILL had good pace last week once shaking free.

Race 12

(5) CAVIART LUCA gets class relief in his third start off the bench; no fooling around here. (1) TITUS SEELSTER returns locally with plenty of speed and the best draw. (3) BB'S HARLEY is up in class again but he's been really good recently.
