2019 STATS: 329 - 766 / $1,476.80 (-$55.20)
BEST BETS: 37 - 66 / $109.30 (-$22.70)
Best Bet: TREMENDOUS PLAY (1st)
Spot Play: DANCIN DRAGON (9th)
Race 1 – NW10000 in last 5 starts
(3) TREMENDOUS PLAY has been racing well from tough spots in all recent and now he moves inside, gets class relief and maybe most importantly the Banca trainee gets Bartlett back in the bike. (2) CHRISTEN ME N has had no excuse in his last few but he still must be considered a serious player at this level. (1) MIDNIGHT LIGHTNING draws best and the Vallee student should be close up throughout. (4) CINNAMACK has picked up minor awards in his last three and should be considered underneath again.

Race 2 – Excelsior A 3YO Trot
(3) XCUSEME was dead-game to the wire winning in his last local effort and he’ll be looking to take these coast-to-coast again. (4) FULL RIGHTS gets Stratton in the bike for Schnittker, and we all know how much I love that angle. (5) LABADEE AS has been racing gamely and was Bartlett’s obvious choice but he’ll be off the pace trying to track down a couple of tough ones.
Race 3 – NW20000 in last 5 starts
(2) BURNING SHORE just missed last week after a tough trip at a nice price and while he steps up in class again he (along with the barn) may be sharp enough to get it done, assuming a smooth enough trip. (1) ABERDEEN HANOVER doesn’t win often but he’s a steady earner for Vallee and having the rail certainly helps. (5) SHANE ADAM had no chance last week but was a solid upset winner the start prior and the Banca trainee has proven he can go with this type. (4) MILLIONDOLLAR WAVE was a two-move winner last week getting his trainer off the seasonal schneid and he should be in the number again tonight.
Race 4 - $40,000 Claiming
(5) STOLEN CAR raced very well last week off the Carmine Fusco claim but he just had a bit too far to come; veteran has beaten $40K types in the past and can take this with smooth sailing (maybe on the front end?) (3) PERFECTLY CLOSE debuts off the Burke claim; gets Brennan in the bike and must be considered a player. (1) HEEZ ORL BLACK N is feeling great again at age 11 and he has speed with the best post.
Race 5 – Open Handicap Trot
(4) MELADY’S MONET got away too far near the back of the pack last week to have a serious winning chance; veteran lands in similar spot tonight and can rebound if kept closer to the action. (3) SUCH AN ANGEL has something to prove at this level but was week’s winning effort was too sharp to ignore. (8) WILL TAKE CHARGE drove to the top from the outside post last week, cleared and kept on rolling to the wire; one would have to assume Stratton will employ the same tactics again tonight. (6) IN SECRET may not win this but the Burke trainee will probably come away with another nice payday.
Race 6 – Open Handicap Pace
(7) MICKY GEE N may get away last again from his assigned outside post, but if he somehow doesn’t, watch out! (3) THE REAL ONE is going very well for Lachance and should be a live player from this generous post. (5) DR J HANOVER has good early speed and if he can improve position off the gate he’s in with a chance. (6) PROVEN DESIRE has been good for an extended period of time for the Allard barn but he’s saddled with another tough post.
Race 7 – NYSS 3YO Trot
(1) CAVILL HANOVER was second best to Gimpanzee in a start here last month and followed that up with two solid wins for Svanstedt; Dube drives tonight and the trotter is clearly the one to beat. (5) WINNERUP looked home free before breaking in his last local try for Smedshammer; he did break again last week but will be a player if he behaves himself. (4) LUCKY WEEKEND should be close enough to the action to land him a nice piece. (3) WHIMZICAL CHAPTER bumps back up to the NYSS level looking for three straight for Dan Daley but he looks to a be a notch below some of these; small share?
Race 8 – NYSS 3YO Trot
(3) TRAVEL WINNER missed a leg of the NYSS at Yonkers last month and did tire badly last week but overall the talent seems to be there and he could be a decent price in this competitive NYSS event. (6) JASON’S CAMDEN blitzed through the Excelsior series and earns a bump to the NYSS level; Julie Miller trainee may be good enough. (5) LIVINONTHEDASH was lucky and good winning here in the NYSS last month and followed that up with a couple of solid efforts; obvious player here. (1) OUR WHITE KNIGHT has some speed and behaves himself; from the best post he can come out of this with a nice payday.
Race 9 – 4YO Open Handicap
(5) DANCIN DRAGON had an almost impossible task of overcoming post eight last week but the move inside a few spots should help his cause tremendously; Bartlett’s choice. (4) TURBO HILL was well-driven to a second-place finish in last week’s bizarre race and was rewarded with the victory; decent post makes the Oakes trainee a player again. (6) ALBERGO HANOVER beat these easily last week but was set down in a controversial decision; Bongiorno is back driving for his sister and is a clear threat. (3) ROCKATHON gets Brennan in the bike tonight after getting jammed up last week.
Race 10 – NW30000 in last 5 starts
(7) GREAT VINTAGE takes a needed drop in class from the Open ranks after being used early to secure position and he gets a driver upgrade to Stratton. May be worth a look if the price is right. (3) CONTROL TOWER bumps up a notch off his last local race but he seems sharp enough to compete. (1) REAGAN’S AVENGER tries more seasoned foes tonight but he does draw best and has Bartlett driving again. (5) SHADOW CAT hails from Team Bongiorno and obviously deserves respect.
Race 11 – NW30000 in last 5 starts
(5) THERESADEMONINME ships from the Mid-Atlantic in stellar form facing some good stock and he was Stratton’s choice over the very logical (1) MOSTINTERESTINGMAN. The latter has been going well and now draws best but had no excuse to get outkicked for second last week; Brennan drives. (3) THE LAST CHAPTER closed a ton last week and now gets a better post. (2) SUMATRA is best one level down but he should be able to land a small share.
Race 12 – NW30000 in last 5 starts
(4) I’M SOME GRADUATE gets a free ride at this level off last week’s game win and the Burke trainee can certainly repeat. (3) THEARTOFCONFUSION A is back at his preferred level; obvious player. (2) SOHO WALLSTREET A returns locally and has been doing good things for DiDomenico. (5) IMAROCKNROLLEGEND A is good but may have too much to accomplish with some tough ones inside of him; use underneath.
