Yonkers: Saturday 5/11 Analysis

Best Bet: MAC’S JACKPOT (9th)

Spot Play: IDEAL JIMMY (7th)

MEET STATS: 159 - 451 / $823.20 (-$78.80)

BEST BETS: 23 - 39 / $67.90 (-$10.10)

Race 1

(2) TOATSMYGOATS was reclaimed by Brittany Robertson at a premium, as she lost him for $30K a few starts back, and he will offer better value tonight after being baked up last week at 1/5 odds. (5) TORRID BORMAC N was Bartlett's surprising choice over the top one and he raced well enough in his debut at this claiming level to suggest he can go with these. (6) BUGSY MAGUIRE was dead game after going a brutal parked-out trip last start but he faces an uphill climb tonight from this post.

Race 2

(1) ANOTHER BEACH DAY has raced very respectably in her four seasonal starts and Bartlett will likely try to take this field coast-to-coast. (5) ART LECTURE seemed a bit overmatched last out facing tough PA Sire Stakes foes and she should find this field more to her liking. (4) MI NINA BONITA blew away a cheaper NW2 field in her last start and she does have the 'home field' advantage which should help her cause.

Race 3

(3) QUEEN OF THE PRIDE made over $350K in her two-year-old season and she's picked up right where she left off with a series of stellar efforts in Ohio; filly will be very tough here at a short price. (2) ABIGAIL DAWN is perfect this year for Chris Ryder and she clearly has the best chance to upset the top one, but seems more likely to complete a very chalky exacta. (4) RHYME N ROLL wasn't bad last out in a Stallion stake at Philly and she could add some value to the bottom of the ticket.

Race 4

(2) WORLD ON EDGE raced very well in the Wiggle It Jiggleit series over at The Meadowlands and the Burke trainee looks just a bit faster than the rest of these; gelding deserves top billing from this good post. (6) JUST PLAIN LOCO had a very productive freshman season and has come back nicely as a three-year-old, making live moves in his three 2019 starts; the post obviously hurts but he can provide some decent value. (4) WAGER ON ME picks up the leading driver here and his form in Delaware was solid.

Race 5

(4) MELODIES MAJOR had a big two-year-old season in the NYSS, including finishing second in the Final at odds-on; Mark Ford trainee should be plenty tight enough off those three qualifiers. (5) AMERICAN ADMIRAL picked up two wins in the Weiss series before hitting a bump in the road in the final; Harris trainee acclimated nicely to this track facing NW2 types earlier in the year. (1) NO MAS AMOR earned over $100K as a freshman for Toscano but his 2019 lines don't look that spectacular; he does draw best here and was Bartlett's choice.

Race 6

(3) WILL TAKE CHARGE looked a bit short in his first two 2019 starts but took a few weeks off and came back with a solid effort, then followed that up with a good try in the Cutler at the Meadowlands; it's mind-boggling that he gets to draw for an inside post while others were assigned outside but that clearly makes him the one to beat here. (7) TOP FLIGHT ANGEL never got close from a tough spot last week in the Cutler but he's got loads of class to him and has raced great at Yonkers in the past; look for an announced driver change with Andy Miller reportedly sidelined with a hand injury. (5) IN SECRET hasn't been at his best recently but it's tough to ever count him out.

Race 7

(4) IDEAL JIMMY gave it a solid try from the eight hole last week but can be excused for that effort as the leader was folding in his face and the outsiders had all the momentum; he looms the one to beat here from this much-improved post. (2) MAJOR CROCKER A did the best he could from a tough spot last week but he's another that will benefit greatly from the post relief. (5) PACING MAJOR N charged home off live cover to just miss last week; Tritton trainee always puts in an honest effort.

Race 8

(6) LONDON SEELSTER was dead game to the wire defeating lesser in his debut for the Lance Hudson barn; I would expect Stratton to be aggressive off the gate here in this bulky field and the gelding may be sharp enough to handle this type. (3) WINSTON blew away cheaper in his second seasonal start and also looms a solid threat here. (5) KILLER MARTINI hasn't been firing his best recently but it's impossible to ignore him at this reduced level.

Race 9

(1) MAC'S JACKPOT was a legit player in the Levy and closed in :27 in his last start in the Open; he lands the best post in this alleged 'handicap' race and I suspect Holland will be taking full advantage of the opportunity. (6) HUDSON PHIL faltered late on the front end in his last local try but Brennan will be firing from the gate and that should set him up with a sweet trip. (3) BLACK CHEVRON N bounced back nicely last week scoring the upset in a strangely run affair; he can hit the ticket here with smooth sailing.

Race 10

(6) NOCTURNAL BLUECHIP dropped from the Levy and was a good second to a tough rival who was also stakes-placed; worth looking at if the price is decent in this evenly-matched event. (1) SPORTS COLUMN returns locally with the best post and he's proven he can go with this type. (5) TREMENDOUS PLAY had dead aim but hung badly in the late stages last week but overall the Banca trainee has been in solid form.

Race 11

(2) WINNING SHADOW was much-improved last week when returning locally though he was outmuscled late by a trip-sitting rival; Burke trainee should be right there on the wire again. (5) TOP EXPECTATIONS has blown away non-winner conditioned types in his two 2019 starts, both miles trotted in 1:54 and change; Silva trainee clearly has the raw talent. (4) ROCK OF CASHEL returns locally in good form but doesn't have the best local win record; use underneath for a share.

Race 12

(4) DON DOMINGO N moved early to the front, rated and won comfortably last out; Hudson trainee can handle the hike in class. (2) OUR MAX PHACTOR N was in a tough spot last out and failed to get involved but he's back at a more realistic level and with a better post. (1) EPAULETTE A stopped badly in his last pari-mutuel try but qualified back effectively and should be a speed threat from this spot.
