Yonkers: Saturday 4/22 Analysis

Matt Rose|Apr 20, 2017
Yonkers logo

Best Bet: SUNFIRE BLUE CHIP (6th)

Spot Play: WYNBERG COURAGE N (3rd)

MEET STATS: 147 - 421 / $862.20

BEST BETS: 21 - 37 / $71.80

Race 1

(3) FASHION DELIGHT has been close up in all efforts at this level and he seems due to find the winners circle eventually. (1) KEYSTONE HONOR isn't the easiest horse to have on top but he always gives a good accounting of himself; threat from the rail. (4) STEVENSVILLE was uninvolved last out but will be closer to the action tonight.

Race 2

(4) RUN AND TELL PAP gave it his all off the Garcia-Herrera claim and he deserves another try. (3) GURAL HANOVER ships in for Burke and has loads of back class. (1) XTATIC HANOVER was empty last out but good the start prior; consider.

Race 3

(4) WYNBERG COURAGE N has been razor-sharp working his way from the $12,500 claimers to this $50,000 tag and he would have won last out if he had gotten out sooner. (2) DULL ROAR returns locally and was a solid winner here four back. (1) NOBLES FINESSE raced well last week off the claim and draws best; obvious contender.

Race 4

(4) A REAL MIRACLE raced well here upon arrival then was lost at the back of the pack last out; this is a better spot and he should be a decent price. (2) SECOND WIND N has been a lame scratch twice in the last couple of months but his starts sprinkled in have been decent; threat if he's ready to go. (1) CLINT WESTWOOD moves all the way inside and will be close up.

Race 5

(2) BURNING N wasn't all that bad in the Levy while seemingly a bit overmatched and he draws best here of the contenders. (4) LETTUCEROCKTHEM A has looked good since moving to the Dilloian barn and he qualified back nicely. (5) HILLBILLY HANOVER doesn't win often but he's a threat underneath.

Race 6

(5) SUNFIRE BLUE CHIP went off the favorite last out but never got involved form post eight; to the front tonight. (4) ROLAND N ROCK is back up in class off an easy win and he's more than capable with this type. (1) LORD OF MISRULE has the best post for the hot DiDomenico barn.

Race 7

(2) SELL A BIT N usually races as well as she draws which should serve her well from this inside post. (1) BETABCOOL N disappointed me last out but her prior efforts were solid. (4) KRISPY APPLE has been extremely disappointing this season but we all know what she's capable of.

Race 8 – Matchmaker Final

(3) MACH IT A PAR pounced off live cover last week and has been good in practically every start this season; mare is versatile and should be in a perfect spot to grind these down. (2) SHESJUSTADELIGHT N raced decently last week coming up a bit short late; she's another that should benefit greatly from this inside post for Ron Cushing. (4) MACKENZIE A has been a touch erratic in her last two but we all know the talent is there and she can come charging late. (5) REGIL ELEKTRA has gotten some good trips recently but she's been very good as well.

Race 9

(8) ROCKIN RON hasn't put in a bad effort all year for Burke and he's got the speed to overcome the eight hole; price should be good enough to take a swing. (1) MACH IT SO hasn't been bad but hasn't been good; an improved effort can take this. (2) CLEAR VISION was late to the Levy party but the veteran put in three superior efforts.

Race 10 – Levy Final

(6) BIT OF A LEGEND N may be at a tactical disadvantage from this post with solid ones inside of him but he's been good throughout the series and can come from on or off the pace. I'll take a swing hoping he falls into a live trip at what should be an attractive price. (3) MISSILE J has been simply awesome for DiDomenico, including last week's no-chance effort where he still came home in 26 seconds; clearly he's the one to beat in the Levy final but I suspect he'll be overbet. (5) SOMEWHERE IN L A could be the pacesetter here and he's always dead-game but he's sure to be pressured; will he be vulnerable late? (1) MCWICKED is quickly back in top form and he lands the rail; is he the 'now' horse?

Race 11

(5) COVERT OPERATIVE let the pacesetter get away too cheap last out and could not reach; I'd like to see some early speed tonight. (6) CELEBRITY PEGASUS ships in razor-sharp from Dover. (4) BARN DOLL makes her second start of the year and she has the looks of a quality aged mare for Jeff Gregory.

Race 12

(5) ALWAYS AT MY PLACE and (6) SANTA FE BEACHBOY both exit the Levy for this softer spot and one of them should win this; I'll give the nod to the Burke trainee with his early speed and post advantage. (3) PARNU HAONVER was good last week but gets a test for class tonight.
