Race 1
(2) PROVEN DESIRE makes all the sense in the world here, moving to a much better post after touring the track from the eight hole in a 10-horse affair last week and the Allard trainee was a good second versus better two back. He'll likely get crushed at the windows, however. (5) LETSCHASETHEDREAMN has been a bit of an underachiever since arriving in the States but he faces softer tonight and figures to be a big player. (1) SPORTSKEEPER hasn't fired with his best recently but he's good enough to make some noise from this spot.
Race 2
(4) TOATSMYGOATS was reclaimed by Allard at a premium last week and now steps up to face $40K claimers; razor-sharp sort seems ready to take his third straight. (1) ONE THROUGH TEN has looked like a new horse since moving to Team Bongiorno and I think we all know what the strategy will be tonight. (2) TEXICAN N was poorly positioned last week and never fired; Tritton trainee figures to be in a better spot here and should land a share.
Race 3
(1) MICKY GEE N was too far back last week in a race where the heavily favored Caviart Luca waltzed around the track but he closed with a ton of late interest; Hudson trainee definitely deserves top billing from this spot. (5) EPAULETTE A was second best to a classy winner last week and he should be forwardly placed again. (6) ST LADS NEPTUNE finished willingly in his seasonal debut and he can move forward off that effort; use underneath at a price.
Race 4
(5) CLASSY DRAGON has very successfully hiked up the class ladder after joining Team Bongiorno and the gelding could be trouble if he hits the lead. (1) SOHO LENNON A projects to get a very live trip from his rail assignment and he could be close late. (3) KILLER MARTINI tired last out but that seemed like a needed start and he's right back in the box; Bucci trainee should show more tonight.
Race 5
(4) WESLYNN DANCER has been behaving herself and racing pretty well of late; with a decent trip the mare is as capable as anyone in here. (6) SMALLTOWNTHROWDOWN was much better last week, just missing from the pocket. (5) WINNING SHADOW has done nothing wrong since moving to the Burke barn and the 4-year-old gets a nice class test tonight.
Race 6
(4) BETTOR MEMORIES dropped and popped two back then reentered the Levy last week and was part of a wicked pace battle before getting shuffled; Norman trainee can go with these and will threaten with a smooth trip. (3) CONTROL TOWER had made some money in the Levy and he gets Bongiorno listed tonight, who has been live driving the Surick stock. (7) DR J HANOVER is a legit player here and has early speed at his disposal to overcome the poor post.
Race 7
(3) MAJOR CROCKER A has finished with good energy in his three Levy efforts for Allard and this recent import was a big earner Down-under; with smooth sailing he could be the freshest one late. (2) IMAROCNROLLEGEND N failed to get involved in his last two from outside posts but he was right there in his prior races from similar spots; he's one of many on the outside looking in heading to the final which good lead to some aggressive handling from this inner post. (1) THE DOWNTOWN BUS was burned to a crisp last week battling through an inside :53 3/5 half; can we forgive and forget or was too much taken out of him?
Race 8
(3) TECHTOR HANOVER went through the motions last week from the eight hole versus better after missing a couple of weeks; veteran has proven to be better than these when on his game. (9) JOHNNY DISCO A is stuck in the second tier and gets tested for class tonight, but he's been very good in his last two; consider if he's a healthy price. (5) PROVOCATIVEPRINCEN got a long-overdue win last week and the Tritton trainee is certainly capable of repeating.
Race 9
(4) WESTERN FAME has won in dominating fashion in three of the four Levy legs, and there's no week off for him...right back in the box. Allard trainee is clearly the one to beat again. (2) RODEO ROCK did take last week off after not firing with his best; prior starts were all super. (3) PACING MAJOR N was a big upset winner two back in that crazy race and he followed that up with a solid uncovered try last week; Tritton trainee should be a player from this spot.
Race 10
(6) IDEAL JIMMY has been super all season, including two Levy wins; while he was outfinished late by The Wall last week it was still a very productive effort; price should be ok from this spot. (1) ANYTHINGFORLOVE A elected to sit the pocket last week and held his ground well late to be second best; Team Bongiorno trainee will likely be aggressively handled looking to top off his Levy points. (5) ROCKIN RON was disappointing in round one of the Levy and has been MIA since; tough to predict what to expect here.
Race 11
(2) MOSTINTERESTINGMAN needed last week's start after missing almost a month and I would expect the trotter to be a 'go' tonight. (1) PERLUCKY graduated to this level and raced very respectably; Smedshammer trainee should be a big player from the best post. (8) MISSISSIPPI STORM is a 4-year-old that obviously has the ability but is also stuck all the way outside; he needs to improve position early to have a chance.
Race 12
(1) THEARTOFCONFUSION A quarter-moved to command last week and easily took care of business; veteran is in a similar spot tonight and is clearly capable of repeating. (2) SIMPLE KINDA MAN was going nowhere in those last two starts from outside posts but clearly the post relief makes him a player. (3) MACH N CHEESE went a big winning effort last week in his seasonal debut at The Meadowlands and he raced very well at Yonkers last year as a 3-year-old; definitely one to keep an eye on.
