MEET STATS: 64 - 185 / $315.40 (-$54.60)
BEST BETS: 11 - 15 / $32.90 (+$2.90)
Race 1
In a tough race to figure, (2) CHEVALS CLIVESDALE regressed from his promising 2019 debut but he's been saddled with tough outside posts. Maybe the move inside helps. (5) PHIL YOUR BOOTS fits okay at this level and could offer some value. (6) SWEET BEACH ships from Dover making his third start for DiDomenico and he finds a pretty soft spot; player.
Race 2
(4) BETTOR ROCK ON N charged home from third over to score a major upset last out, a rare huge price for these connections. Lance Hudson trainee is clearly on top of his game and there's no reason why he can't repeat here. (3) MAJOR BUCKS has charged home in his last two from impossible spots and obviously the post relief will help his changes immensely. (2) VEGAS ROCKS failed at 1/5 odds last out and now goes for a new barn off the claim; don't accept too short of a price.
Race 3
(5) DURANT has proven capable with this type in the past and he could offer some value here against some questionable foes. (1) CHEYENNE SEEBER 'dropped and popped' last out and the sharp sort should make his presence felt from this spot bumping back to this level. (2) WARMINSTER A seems to have ability but is too inconsistent for my tastes; maybe I'll throw him in underneath.
Race 4
(5) ELWELL makes his second start at this reduced level and he's been a legit player in the past with better; Laterza trainee only needs a smooth trip. (4) BAKERSFIELD enjoyed a perfect trip and just missed in his 2019 debut; Garcia-Herrera trainee figures to be forwardly placed. (2) IDEAL COWBOY qualified okay and does have plenty of back class.
Race 5
(2) PACING MAJOR N makes his third start off the layoff and now drops to a lower level while drawing well; no excuses tonight for the Tritton trainee. (6) MAJOR CROCKER A was a winner up at Saratoga for Allard in his first U.S. start; this one was a big earner Down-Under. (8) MORE THE BETTER N returns locally and has the talent but it's tough to predict how involved he'll be tonight from this tough spot.
Race 6
(3) BETTOR MEMORIES was the strong selection in last week's Open but they cancelled racing (LOL). Now tonight he ends up in a very favorable draw situation and also ends up inside of his main rivals. Expect an aggressive effort here tuning up for the Levy. (6) BIT OF A LEGEND N wins the '6 through 8' draw which puts the Tritton double-millionaire in play. (2) NOCTURNAL BLUECHIP has been a big player in the top levels at Woodbine Mohawk and looks like a good fit here.
Race 7
(7) MELADY'S MONET has been so sharp the outside post assignment may not affect him here; as long has he's close enough he should roll by late. (2) MOSTINTERESTINGMAN has been sharp of late and he should be an early player from this generous post. (5) SMALLTOWNTHROWDOWN was second best to the top choice the last time they faced off and he's another here with a live chance.
Race 8
(2) ODDS ON DELRAY was not a major player in his 2019 debut but that race should serve as a nice tightener; Alagna trainee may be ready to show more. (1) ANYTHINGFORLOVE A will be heading down the road for Bongiorno but he did falter in his last two on the front end. (5) OUR ZAK WHITBY A had some issues scoring down last out and was scratched; prior form was solid.
Race 9
(5) I'M SOME GRADUATE aggressively two-moved for command last out in what looked like was a winning move but he wilted late; Burke trainee was solid from off the pace in his prior two. (1) GRATIAN HANOVER always gives 100% for Team Bongiorno and he'll be right in the thick of things from this spot. (3) DR J HANOVER makes his seasonal debut gearing up for the Levy; will he need this race to round into top form?
Race 10
(1) SIR PUGSLEY certainly qualified effectively and the Burke trainee could be ready to roll at first asking in 2019. Now-5-year-old certainly fits with this type. (2) FEELING CAM LUCKY had an effective first seasonal start and he can move forward off that effort. I have to throw (7) WEONA SIZZLER A on the ticket but it's almost inconceivable he hasn't made a penny yet for his new connections; who knows what to expect.
Race 11
(4) WESLYNN DANCER is always a risky proposition but the mare is loaded with talent and if she behaves herself she can trot over this field. (2) NEW HEAVEN seems capable of carrying his speed a long way here. (5) CRAZY ABOUT PAT qualified pretty well and could be ready to go in his seasonal debut; use underneath.
Race 12
(1) BELLOWS BINGE was an Open winner not too long ago and he gets the lethal combination of class and post relief; Banca trainee should handle things in the finale. (3) MIGHTY MR SHARKEY N was a solid uncovered winner last out and he can be within reach from this post. (7) THEARTOFCONFUSION A is legit with these and will likely build off that last effort but this is a tough outside post.
