Race 1
(6) IDEAL COWBOY was totally uninvolved last week from post eight against a much-the-best winner; his prior start he finished very willingly and I fully expect Bartlett to have him in play tonight. (4) DOJEA SOLO has a huge turn of early speed and despite giving way last week he still paced in 1:52 2/5; big threat. (1) BULLET BOB will be close up from the best post but he needs to show more late; use underneath.
Race 2
(2) NORTHERN OBSESSION raced better last week, her third start off the bench for Garcia-Herrera; mare draws well and seems to have a seasoning edge on her main rivals here. (4) GOLDEN SON could not sustain a two-move effort last out; maybe the slight post relief helps. (3) HONOR ABOVE ALL made his second start after arriving from Canada for Lachance, took money, got parked and broke. Trotter will be ok going forward but is tough to endorse for an outfit that has gotten off to a very slow start this year.
Race 3
(1) IN THE HUDDLE was outfinished last week but he's in another controlling spot tonight and deserves another chance. (3) SANTANNA ONE has been racing pretty well recently and is always a threat with inside posts. (8) P H SUPERCAM hasn't come back that great this year and the outside post doesn't help, but it's impossible to completely toss him.
Race 4
(5) J A T O is reunited locally with Brennan, where he was stellar in defeat two back; top billing. (3) DEWYCOLORINTHELINE certainly needed last week's start but he didn't show me enough to make me think he's fully ready to win. (2) MONROE COUNTY can go with these but she has suspect recent form.
Race 5
(4) LUCK O THE IRISH followed up a big win with a steady effort chasing some good ones last Sunday; he has impressed me enough to take him on top here. (3) NEWCASTLE just missed to Hemi Seelster last out; his early speed always makes him a threat. (2) CRAZY ABOUT PAT is coming off a scratch-sick line; use caution.
Race 6
(1) SPRINGBANK SAM N just got run over last out and now gets a very generous post assignment here; Tritton charge can trip out from this spot. (6) ROSE RUN PARKER was game in defeat upon arrival getting nipped after a two-move effort. (4) RED HOT HERBIE is always a player and proven money-maker with this type.
Race 7
(7) PROVOCATIVEPRINCEN doesn't need much of an introduction here, but what he does need is to show the ability to leave the gate some. If that happens, watch out! (5) SAPPHIRE CITY should have a clear shot to the lead from this spot and is an obvious threat to take these the distance. (8) BLOOD BROTHER parlayed a perfect trip to an easy win last out; will be tougher tonight from this spot.
Race 8
(6) BIT OF A LEGEND N wasn't fully charged up off the bench but still finished with plenty of pace in his 2017 debut; tonight's the night to flex his muscles. (8) SOMEWHERE IN L A is stuck outside again and it's all about his ability to be put into play; interesting that Bartlett is listed tonight. (7) CAVIART LUCA is another prime contender that has to overcome the poor post.
Race 9
(1) LADY'S DUDE got beaten in his 2017 debut over at The Meadowlands but it was a useful tightener and he can roll tonight from the rail. (2) ZOOMING is back in with the type he beat three back. (4) MONEY MAVEN is tough to endorse on top based on his last couple of races but he can certainly be used underneath.
Race 10
(1) MILITARY BLUE went through the motions in his last two starts from the eight hole versus better but his prior effort was an aggressive try in the Open; the post relief will certainly help his cause tonight. (3) BENTLEY SPUR battled hard before tiring in last week's added-distance event but he won the start prior from a similar spot. (2) AGGRESSIVE probably should have won last out but it was a good effort nonetheless.
Race 11
(4) SOHO LENNON A had a very useful race last week off the bench where he finished willingly for a board spot; veteran should have much more to offer tonight. (2) HILLBILLY HANOVER paced a big back half last week and got very close late; he's sharp and a big player from this spot. (3) DREAM OUT LOUD N gets class and post relief in his second 2017 start; can't fault anyone for playing him.
