Yonkers: Saturday 3/11 Analysis

Best Bet: MOONLITEONTHEBEACH (1st)

Spot Play: IRA CHIEF (9th)

MEET STATS: 69 - 224 / $402.80

BEST BETS: 11 - 21 / $37.20

Race 1

(1) MOONLITEONTHEBEACH was an easy pocket-sitting winner when last seen at this reduced level; veteran is clearly the one to beat from this spot with Tetrick driving but he won't offer much value. (2) DULL ROAR has been racing pretty well of late including a nice rally last week from an impossible spot; threat. (4) LETTUCERIPRITA A was the victim of a shuffle last week and lost his best chance; Bartlett drives.

Race 2

(5) ESCAPE THE NEWS has finished with very good pace in his last two after saving ground which could be signaling a return to form; he'll have to work harder tonight but may be sharp enough to get the job done. (1) BIG N BAD is probably the one to beat from this spot but he's been inconsistent recently. (3) SIR MACHALOT is reunited with Bartlett, who has had success with this gelding.

Race 3

(2) PASS THEM BY N usually races as good as he draws, which makes him a threat returning to an inside post. (4) MASTERSON went wire-to-wire two back at this level with Bartlett driving. (3) TEXAS TERROR N looked ready for action in that qualifier and I have to believe he'll improve off last week's clunker.

Race 4

(3) STATESMAN N came up two noses shy after trying to cut the mile last out; I'm giving him another chance, likely at a better price. (1) BEAT THE DRUM gave way stubbornly last out after brushing and cutting the pace; gelding draws best again. (6) TAURANGA gets a serious test for class but he finished with good pace to a tough winner last out.

Race 5

I have never been a fan of (6) THE LUNCH PAIL but he's been good in all recent efforts, coming home in :27 and change consistently; veteran can charge home with a live trip in a race with some question marks. (3) BETTOREVER tripped out to defeat a stubborn rival last out and is the likely favorite here. (1) TWIN B SPEEDO is an obvious contender from the rail with Tetrick driving.

Race 6

(5) BLOOD BROTHER gets a good midpack starting spot which gives Bartlett some tactical options; Banca trainee has been sharp in all recent. (6) TAKE IT BACK TERRY came back from vacation with a strong effort at Dover; big threat. (3) GUANTANAMO BAY has been very good since moving to the Renaud barn and he gets a good inside spot.

Race 7

(4) E Z NOAH was overmatched last out in the Open but this is clearly a better spot for the Allard-trained veteran. (1) THEARTOFCONFUSION was game in defeat last week versus better but will probably be overbet off that effort. (2) DREAM OUT LOUD N raced well in his second seasonal start and can show even more tonight.

Race 8

(6) WAKIZASHI HANOVER was solid in his comeback race last week in Delaware and the millionaire can be ready to roll prepping for the Levy. (3) LUCAN HANOVER missed a neck at a big price in the Open and he gets a good post draw. (2) TEXICAN N won his 2017 debut at a nice mutuel; he steps up here but we all know he's capable at this level.

Race 9

(4) IRA CHIEF gets much-needed class relief tonight and should be aggressively handled by Tetrick. (2) P H SUPERCAM moves inside but just hasn't looked sharp enough recently for me to endorse him on top. (1) SECOND WIND N draws best in his third return start; he should be included on all exotic tickets.

Race 10

(4) LORD OF MISRULE has good early speed at his disposal which should set him up nicely from this spot. (1) MACINTOSH N was outgamed from the pocket last out and could be in line for a similar trip tonight. (5) COWBOY TERRIER kicked home nicely off cover to beat one notch lesser but he hasn't proven he can beat this type.

Race 11

(2) MILLIONDOLLAR WAVE launched off cover four back to score versus some tough foes and his effort last out wasn't bad; he could offer the best value of the contenders here. (3) MCWICKED was a 1:50 4/5 winner at Pompano in his comeback race but he's off almost a month and probably will be overbet. I'll throw (7) FOILED AGAIN on the ticket (just because he's Foiled Again) but I don't think he can win from this tough outside spot. I hope he races well and picks up a share.
