MEET STATS: 45 - 138 / $229.90 (-$46.10)
BEST BETS: 8 - 12 / $25.80 (+$1.80)
Best Bet:
I’M SOME GRADUATE (8th)
Spot Play: SWANSEA (11th)

Race 1 - $40,000 Claiming

(2) WINDSONG JACK has been a bit inconsistent recently but he’s more than proven himself with this type and with a smooth trip he can get the job done. (6) MACH TIME N snuck up the rail to make it close last week and while he’s stuck outside again there doesn’t seem to be a ton of speed inside of him and perhaps Bartlett can send hard off the gate. (3) AIR STRIKE has hinted at serious ability but that qualifier wasn’t all that special and he’s priced to sell here. (7) ARTIFACT HANOVER would rate much higher here if not for the post.

Race 2 – NW30000 in last 5 starts

(2) ANYTHINGFORLOVE A can be a handful before the start but once the gate springs open he’s all business and Marohn seems to get along very well with him; Allard trainee is a strong candidate to wire these again. (4) ITALIAN DELIGHT N gave way on the front end last week at The Meadowlands but overall this recent import has looked very good for Cassar. (1) BETTOR THAN SPRING returns locally and had some solid efforts here last season. (7) SOMEWHERE IN L A jogged last week but he’s facing better now and is stuck in the worst post; hard to say if he gets involved.

Race 3 – NW30000 in last 5 starts

(5) IMAROCNROLLEGEND N will have to work a bit harder tonight to repeat facing better but the Bongiorno trainee seems talented enough to handle these. (3) SILAS SEELSTER successfully transitioned from the NW conditioned ranks to these tougher, more seasoned foes with a solid uncovered score; he’s capable of winning again. (1) BENHOPE RULZ N needed last week’s start off the sick scratch and now he drops and draws best. (2) ROCKATHON has been second best in his last four and can hit the ticket again.

Race 4 – NW10000 in last 5 starts

(6) WESTERN BEACHBOY had no real excuse to fail last week but the price goes up tonight if you want to stick with the DiDomenico trainee. (2) TIGER BARON qualified right back after that debacle where he lost action and pulled up; he should be prominent throughout from this good post. (4) HEREHECOMESAROCKIN was scratched sick last week but is right back in the box tonight looking for two straight. (3) THEREISAPACEFORUS gets some needed class relief and moves back inside; he can save ground and emerge with a share.

Race 5 - $50,000/$75,000 Claiming Handicap

(1) SHOREVIEW hasn’t shown much in his last couple but he was facing some good ones; Bartlett’s choice lands the best post and is a threat to take these wire-to-wire. (5) HIGHLAND TARTAN hasn’t put in a bad effort in ages and looks like a legit contender. (3) MARTY MONKHOUSER A has been razor-sharp in his last two and he was claimed off his last win; can he maintain his form for his new barn? (7) SLICK MICK is ambitiously placed here with a $75K tag looking for three straight; we’ll see if Bongiorno can get him involved.

Race 6 – NW15000 in last 5 starts

(8) HEAVEN’S GAIT lands a tough outside post coming off a sharp win and if Siegelman can generate some early speed to get him involved he’s good enough to repeat. (1) BABES DIG ME qualified effectively and all of these Banca trainees have been ready to go coming off the holiday break; Bartlett’s choice. (3) ORILLIA JOE finds a better spot making his second seasonal start and the veteran should be more involved. (7) ELECTRIC WESTERN has been racing pretty well for Mark Ford and he can land a share with a smooth trip.

Race 7 – NW20000 in last 5 starts

(2) DENVER SEELSTER did the best he could from the eight hole in his last two starts but was only able to muster small shares; move back inside gives this gelding a legit chance tonight. (3) ROCKAPELO was no match to the sharp winner in his debut for the Burke barn but he still remains a big player here. (5) WHATS IN THE ESKY A wasn’t bad last start, with decent speed on both ends of his mile. (1) SOLID ASA ROCK A moves all the way inside for his second seasonal start.

Race 8 – NW15000 in last 5 starts

(4) I’M SOME GRADUATE took some money from the outside last week, left well for a tuck but didn’t fire making a second move; Burke trainee is very logical here with the drop in class and post relief. (6) SAULSBROOK DEPUTY also gets class relief, keeps Bartlett and I’m sure he’ll find his way into the race. (1) ARQUE HANOVER has been pretty good in all recent races and he’ll be a player from the inside. (7) FIREBALL will likely have too far to come but he can rally for a piece.

Race 9 – Open Handicap Pace

(4) JACK’S LEGEND N had a bit too much to do to overcome the outside last start and ultimately leveled off after the tough trip; Banca trainee gets a very welcoming post assignment and clearly seems the one to beat. (6) OSTRO HANOVER was super right off the break for Allard but that was three weeks ago; big player again assuming he’s maintained his good form. (7) SAN DOMINO A closed a ton to just miss in his 2020 debut and should only be stronger tonight. (5) TOOKADIVEOFFDIPPER has been a great money-earner since arriving from the Midwest and he can be forwardly placed again.

Race 10 – NW31100 in last 5 starts

(4) HILL OF A HORSE was a solid second last week to a classy rival who was plummeting in class; Erv Miller trainee has proven to be a good fit with this kind and can emerge victorious with smooth sailing. (3) WESLYNN DANCER was clearly a bit short coming off the layoff but the classy mare should be tighter tonight. (6) DAYSON returns locally off a win at The Big M but beware he did break in his last local try. (1) ARABELLA’S CADET blew away cheaper last week making it two straight and she gets a real class test tonight.

Race 11 – Open Handicap Trot

(5) SWANSEA closed a ton from too far back last start and overall he’s done nothing wrong in all recent races while in career form; DiDomenico trainee deserves top billing in this short but select group. (2) WILL TAKE CHARGE successfully dropped and popped last week and probably gained some confidence in the process; he should be on or near the lead from this spot. (4) EYE OFA TIGER AS looks ready to go off those Dover qualifiers and he’ll probably be competitive here but will he need a start or two to hit top gear? (3) SMALLTOWNTHROWDOWN was a 13/1 upset winner last out and could offer decent value again.

Race 12 – NW20000 in last 5 starts

(2) TWIN B TUFFENUFF just missed from the pocket two back to a sharp winner then had no realistic chance last week; post relief will help this Burke trainee immensely. (1) AMERICAN BOY N is an obvious threat to take these wire-to-wire. (4) BLOOD LINE closed a ton from too far back last week; player. (7) SHNEONUCRZYDIAMND A will be a big price and could rally for a small share.
