Yonkers: Saturday 2/10 Analysis

Matt Rose|Feb 08, 2018
Yonkers logo

Best Bet: BUNGALOW BILL N (9th)

Spot Play: FEARLESS MAN (11th)

MEET STATS: 53 - 155 / $315.10

BEST BETS: 8 - 14 / $29.10

Race 1

(2) MACINTOSH N was flying at the wire once clear and just missed last week; he gets major post relief tonight while keeping Stratton in the bike. (5) SANTA FE BEACHBOY lands in a more realistic spot tonight and is clearly the one to fear. (3) HOT DEUCE is unproven at this level but should be good enough for a share.

Race 2

(1) SPRINGBANK SAM N didn't get involved last week but it was a clean line coming off that break and qualifier; Tritton charge will be much more involved tonight. (2) ZOOMING returns locally and we all know he's more than capable with these. (5) WATKINS looms a threat but most likely underneath.

Race 3

In a tough race to figure, (4) LUMINOSITY is arguably classiest here but has missed time off a sick scratch; use caution. (2) HOME'N DRY is in the same boat as the top choice, having missed time off sickness. These two make the most sense with some suspect and unproven rivals underneath. (7) ALWAYS A GOOD TIME steps up after jogging in his Allard debut.

Race 4

(1) SOHO WALLSTREET A took all the money as expected in his Yonkers debut and delivered the goods; as we know all of these recent Croghan imports have been live. (5) LUCAN HANOVER returns locally off a much-needed tightener across the river; main threat. (3) MACHTU N battled hard with the great Foiled Again and held ok late; he can hit the ticket from this spot.

Race 5

(1) DO OVER HANOVER could not sustain two-move efforts in his last two but that shouldn't be the case from this spot; down the road. (5) BETTOR ROCK ON N goes for another new barn and we'll see if he remains in his stellar form. (3) ROCK N ROLL LEGACY is impossible to ignore from these connections.

Race 6

(3) DON'TCALLMEFRANCIS is in career form and is a nose shy of a five-race win streak; he lands inside what he need to beat here. (4) ORILLIA JOE is also razor-sharp and will appreciate the post relief. Speaking of career form, how about (1) ALL DOWN THE LINE? What has he done wrong in his last five starts? Nothing.

Race 7

(7) RUBBER DUCK looks for a repeat win for 'Team Bongiorno' and may be a halfway decent price from the worst post. (6) NF HAPPENSTANCE has been razor-sharp for Jack Parker, Jr. and is certainly logical with his strong early speed. (5) CASH ME OUT can go with these but he's missed a couple of weeks...why?

Race 8

(3) CONTINUAL HANOVER drops in for a tag tonight off two sharp wins and the DiDomenico trainee could be up to the task. (1) BEACH MEMORIES stays at the same level off the claim and draws best. (2) LACHIE MAGUIRE N hasn't fired his best in recent starts but he should be close up from this spot.

Race 9

(5) BUNGALOW BILL N gets Dube in the bike again and the Vallee charge gets some needed post relief; he looks very tough with any sort of favorable trip. (7) TWIN B SPEEDO draws poorly again but does fit well at this level. (1) BOOK BINGE makes his seasonal debut for Garcia-Herrera and he does have some speed with the best draw.

Race 10

(6) WESTERN HILL gets some class relief tonight and just missed at this level two back; expect Bartlett to be putting him in play early. (5) A SWEET RIDE put in a very game two-move effort in defeat last week; sharp sort must be considered. (2) SOHO LENNON A is in good form and always represents himself well from inside posts.

Race 11

(5) FEARLESS MAN jogged in two straight since arriving from Canada and I don't see anyone getting in his way tonight. (4) MADHATTER BLUE CHIP was a touch overmatched in the Open but was sharp in prior starts. (1) PRIME POWER N broke last out after behaving himself for a few starts; use caution.

Race 12

(4) ALOTBETTOR N has missed a couple of weeks but has been racing well, much like everyone from this barn; worth a look in competitive finale. (5) CHUMLEE A is up in class off a win and the Asher/Stalbaum import could have more to offer. (1) SWING CITY returns locally and did beat this type in December.
