Race 1 – NW15000 in last 5 starts
(1) TALBOTCREEKWHISKEY has looked pretty good in his four starts since moving to the Burke barn and he returns locally with the best post; gelding seems like the one to beat in the opener. (4) DENVER SEELSTER was a bit overmatched last week facing some top-notch pacers in that Meadowlands event but he was a winner here at this level two back. (3) SLICK MICK gets major post relief in his third start for the Jenn Bongoirno barn. (5) DREAM OF LUCK has come up just short in his last two tries; Chris Height trainee looks like he’ll be coming from off the pace tonight and he can rally for a share.
Race 2 – NW30000 in last 5 starts
(2) SMALLTOWNTHROWDOWN hasn’t raced since July and it’s been almost a month since his last qualifier but the Allard barn has come back from break firing and this guy certainly fits well with this type. (4) MELADY’S MONET oozes class and is the one to beat, but won’t offer any value. (5) MOSTINTERESTINGMAN broke on the move last out ending his night but he’s another classy veteran who fits well and he may be totally ignored in the wagering. (3) BUEN CAMINO did beat lesser easily in his last local try.
Race 3 – NW15000 in last 5 starts
(6) AMERICAN BOY N certainly needed last week’s Big M start, where he flattened out, but it wasn’t a bad effort; Cassar trainee has beaten better than these here in the past. (1) ARTMAGIC has been a very steady commodity here for an extended period of time and he draws best, but he loses Holland to the top choice. (2) ARCHANGEL THREE is up in class for Burke but he’s been sharp. (5) ROCKATHON’S last few races have not been that encouraging and he’s coming off a sick scratch; mixed feelings.
Race 4 – NW15000 in last 5 starts
(1) IDEAL COWBOY gets post relief, faces a bit softer and is a legit threat to take these coast-to-coast. (3) SPORTS COLUMN raced very gamely from off the pace to be second best in his last local try versus similar. (4) REDBANK BLAZE A raced okay in his last couple while facing high-priced claimers. (5) SOHO LENNON A makes his 2020 debut for Dilloian and the veteran has been feeling good lately; Marohn’s choice.
Race 5 - $75,000 Claiming
(4) KEYSTONE PHOENIX raced evenly last week at The Meadowlands sitting glued to the rail but his local success with Bongiorno driving is well-documented. (6) SHOREVIEW has also been a local terror and he’s got the early speed to overcome the outside draw. (2) SAULSBROOK DEPUTY has hit the ticket in all recent efforts and remains a threat despite Bartlett opting off. (1) STARS ALIGN A drops in for a tag, draws best and the Allard trainee should be ready to go off the holiday break.
Race 6 – Open Handicap Trot
(6) SWANSEA freshened up with a nice qualifier over at The Meadowlands and he looks to remain in career form for DiDomenico; outside assignment hurts but it should help his price. (4) LEAN HANOVER has been solid in his last three local races while rarely getting bet; Toscano trainee deserves respect. (5) WILL TAKE CHARGE continues to be a solid money-maker despite not being at his sharpest; he is a threat to go wire-to-wire here in this abbreviated field. (1) TROTTING GRACE gets tested for class; mare can follow along here for a minor share.
Race 7 - $40,000 Claiming
(4) TOPVILLE OLYMPIAN drops in for a tag tonight for Banca and while he hasn’t won in some time he’s been right there in all recent efforts; low morning-line isn’t all that appealing but he still deserves top billing. (1) PRETTY BOY SWAG is back on the half-mile track and can carry his speed further here. (3) SPORTS BETTOR also has good speed which can set him up with a nice trip. (6) WINDSONG JACK is one of the few in here that’s proven at this level and he could offer some rare good value tonight.
Race 8 – NW15425 in last 5 starts
(3) ANYTHINGFORLOVE A returns to Yonkers, now in the Allard barn, and he showed big speed in his last local try; import is a clear front-end threat here. (1) TOATSMYGOATS also returns locally and the veteran has done good things here in the past. (4) VINNY GAMBINI N looked very good here at times towards the end of last season while climbing the class ladder but his last few haven’t been all that encouraging; can he turn it around? (2) HEREHECOMESAROCKIN figures to save ground and can land a share.
Race 9 – NW30000 in last 5 starts
(5) TOOKADIVEOFFDIPPER was nailed two back then ran into a killer last start while clearly second best; Virgil Morgan, Jr. trainee seems overdue. (4) TWIN B TUFFENUFF upset the top choice two back then made an uncharacteristic break last out; he can be forwardly placed here if he minds his manners. (2) BETTOR MEMORIES gets some class relief and can show more. (7) SOMEWHERE IN L A keeps chugging along making good money as a high-conditioned classmaster but this is a tough spot for his 2020 debut.
Race 10 – NW20000 in last 5 starts
(2) BLOOD LINE failed to get involved from an outside post in his 2019 finale but his prior efforts were decent; Banca trainee looms a solid threat with the move inside. (4) HIGHLAND TARTAN loses Brennan to a Burke trainee but the pacer has been a model of consistency for ages and is hard not to consider here. (5) LUCAN HANOVER is clearly feeling good again and the millionaire veteran may be sharp enough to be competitive here. (3) GINGER TREE MARTY comes off a tough beat at The Meadowlands and was an easy winner versus lesser when last seen locally.
