Yonkers: Saturday 10/7 Analysis

Best Bet: DO OVER HANOVER (9th)
Spot Play: SOMESIZESOMESTYLE (10th)
MEET STATS: 395 - 1117 / $2,157.50
BEST BETS: 55 - 95 / $181.10
Race 1
(4) DREAM OUT LOUD N takes a needed drop, seems to have a touch more class than the rest of these and he picks up Bartlett, with Jordan Stratton opting for (1) SOHO LENNON A. The latter blew away lesser at odds-on, draws best again and may prove the one to beat. (3) ELWELL gets needed post relief and can save ground then shake free with late pace.
Race 2
(5) PROVOCATIVEPRINCEN hasn't been bad recently but certainly hasn't been at his best; he's showing me just enough to keep me interested. (1) BUNGALOW BILL N elected to sit in last week and had no chance; more aggressive handling by Vallee should set him up better. (6) MELMERBY BEACH drops, picks up Bartlett and looms large here, but how often does he win when he's supposed to? Use caution.
Race 3
I'm taking a stab here with (8) MACINTOSH N on the premise that he may be the only true NW20000 type in here, in what looks like a very soft field. (3) SPORTSKEEPER returns locally while looking sharp facing lesser and he was Bartlett's choice. (6) ABERDEEN HANOVER doesn't win often but he gets a meaningful driver change to Stratton.
Race 4
(3) TEXICAN N was overtaken by the blitz of a sharp rival last week but held decently from there; Tritton veteran is way overdue. (5) SAPPHIRE CITY has been somewhat improved recently and he gets needed class relief here. (1) STATESMAN N has had no chance in his last three; he drops out of claimers and finally gets some post relief.
Race 5
(1) ALWAYS AT MY PLACE has a major tactical edge on his opponents starting from the rail. Can he take this field coast-to-coast? (2) GRATIAN HANOVER has been awesome since returning to Team Bongiorno and he's another one with a good inside draw. (7) SOMEWHERE IN L A and (8) BIT OF A LEGEND N both don't need an introduction but how revved up will they be from outside spots with the big invitational coming up next week?
Race 6
(7) LOOKSLIKEACHPNDALE did the best he could last week from a tough spot, rallying for a minor share. This seven-hole assignment seems a bit unfair but he should be put in play earlier. (5) MONEY MAVEN has good early speed and a driver who likes to utilize it. (8) IN SECRET has been the King of the Open sporting a perfect record since the Burke purchase, but with the International looming next week how hard will he be used tonight?
Race 7
(3) SETTLEMOIR has raced very well in his last few proving he's a serious player at this Open 4YO level; switch to Bartlett can't hurt. (2) IDEAL JIMMY gets much-needed post relief and will be a player. (6) ROLL AWAY JOE hasn't done a heck of a lot recently but he will be a good price and can be used underneath.
Race 8
If you promise me that Steve Smith is going to be aggressive and try to send (5) MAJOR BUCKS hard off the gate I'll take a stab at a good price. (2) ROAD UNTRAVELED steps up in class in his debut off the Allard claim and certainly meets no killers in here. (6) MILLIONDOLLAR WAVE keeps Holland and could be late on the scene offering value.
Race 9
(1) DO OVER HANOVER steps up to the 50K claiming level looking for four straight for Allard and draws best in this questionable field. (3) BEAT THE DRUM was Bartlett's choice over a classy horse who he won with recently at odds-on; gelding should be a player at this level. (2) MACON GEORGIA A steps up again while in raging form.
Race 10
(1) SOMESIZESOMESTYLE was a solid pocket-sitting winner two back from a similar spot with Barteltt driving; he should be stalking speedy (4) LUCK BE WITHYOU and may have the most late kick. The latter is very fast, very talented but also can be erratic; use caution. (3) BLOOD BROTHER fits this level perfectly and should be involved from this friendly post.
Race 11
(4) GEORGIE'S POCKETS had a useful effort two back in the Open then had no chance from the eight hole last week; Bartlett sticks and he can be moving early with the Bongiorno charge. (1) TACO TUESDAY has a ton of question marks but the talent is there. (5) SUPER MANNING blew up early last out but he had been in raging form in prior starts.
Race 12
(6) TEXAS TERROR N pounced on cheaper last week and is right back in the box; when right he can go on a big form spree. (4) ORILLIA JOE drops from the Open and was a winner when last at this level but he's missed some time. (3) THE REV ran out of gas late last week but remains another speed threat.
