Yonkers: Saturday 10/6 Analysis

Matt Rose|Oct 04, 2018

Best Bet: DREAM OUT LOUD N (2nd)

Spot Play: TOP FLIGHT ANGEL (5th)

MEET STATS: 429 - 1180 / $2,326.60

BEST BETS: 57 - 101 / $187.50

Race 1

(3) ALLSTAR PARTNER moved to the DiDomenico barn, dropped back in for the $40K tag and was a 'brush and crush' winner; he should come right back despite Bartlett opting elsewhere. (1) MOONLITEONTHEBEACH had aim for second behind the top one last out but faltered late, however he did show good speed, and he figures to set up nicely from the best post. (2) CHEYENNE JEFFREY wasn't bad but wasn't great last week; still must always be considered at this level.

Race 2

(1) DREAM OUT LOUD N could not last on the front end last week but he drops a notch in class, draws best while facing some questionable foes and the veteran should take these down the road. (2) CARRACCI HANOVER gets needed post relief and looks like a player. (5) OH JONNY B GOOD N rallied well last out and was a winner three back with Bartlett in the bike.

Race 3

(1) MR WIGGLE PANTS raced steadily last week while a bit conservatively handled in his local return and I expect a much more aggressive try tonight. (4) BUNGALOW BILL N returns to Yonkers off a nice win versus a bit lesser down at Philly and I think the Vallee trainee will fit with these. (2) GOTTA MINUTE N arrived from Down-under and whipped much cheaper at Saratoga; he gets a clear class test tonight and we'll see if he's up for it.

Race 4

(6) MAC'S JACKPOT has been absolutely super in all of his races at this 4YO Open level and he could have some pace to close into in this competitive event. (4) BRAVE WORLD hasn't been bad in his last few tries versus similar and the Allard trainee figures to be a good price; like most of these in here, it will come down to the trip. (3) EDDARD HANOVER looks like the main speed from a good starting post.

Race 5

(4) TOP FLIGHT ANGEL raced well to be third best last out while at a tactical disadvantage; Dube picks up the driver tonight and he lands inside what looks like his main competition. (5) YES MICKEY was a solid pocket-sitting (and pulling) winner in last, beating the pacesetting (6) GRUDEN, who seems to be in career form despite those recent defeats.

Race 6

(2) PROVOCATIVEPRINCEN has been a bit disappointing this year and despite missing time he showed up with a huge winning effort last week beating lesser; Tritton trainee may be ready for more. (3) MILITARY MASTER A hasn't put in a bad effort since arriving in the U.S. and this looks like a live spot. (5) DOCTOR BUTCH gets a touch of class relief coming from the Open but he's got some tough ones inside of him.

Race 7

In a very competitive Open Handicap, (3) GREAT VINTAGE flashed solid early and late speed to win at a big price last out and he could be in line for a similar trip tonight at another decent mutuel. (4) BIT OF A LEGEND N has done quite a bit of traveling recently, with limited results, but he returns to his home track and I assume the fact that he's right back in the box is a good sign. He may be overbet, however. (1) AMERICAN BOY N would be no surprise if he put the pedal to the medal and tried to pike these.

Race 8

(3) GIVENUPDREAMING was totally locked in the pocket last out with nowhere to go and lost all momentum right to the wire; he deserves another chance off that race. (4) OUR ZAK WHITBY A was jammed on the rail and never got a chance to run last week; prior two were solid efforts on the rim. (2) MISTER DAYTONA N is more than capable with these but may need a start after missing a month or so.

Race 9

(1) CANBEC KINGKAZIMIR has been showing good speed lately and he draws best in a field with no standouts. (3) COOPERSTOWN gave way in the final turn last out after being used in the early pace; he's proven with these and seems capable of rebounding. (5) SWING CITY was a winner in his last two starts at this level with Brennan in the bike.

Race 10

(4) IN SECRET was outbattled to the wire last week but a similar effort can take this. (1) BOFFIN returns to Yonkers off two nice wins out of town but note he broke with Bartlett driving in his last local try; use caution. (3) LORD CROMWELL gets Stratton back in the bike and they went an even trip together two back.

Race 11

(5) GRATIAN HANOVER went a very big eight-hole trip in defeat last week and now the Team Bongiorno charge moves in a few spots and can strike from just off the pace. (3) HUG THE WIND N aggressively pulled pocket and battled hard ultimately setting up (6) PACING MAJOR N last out but it was a solid try and he could be in line for a smoother trip tonight. (1) AMERICANPRIMETIME has proven speed and the best post.
