Yonkers: Saturday 10/27 Analysis

Matt Rose|Oct 25, 2018
Yonkers logo

Best Bet: GIVENUPDREAMING (4th)

Spot Play: MCSPIDEY (10th)

MEET STATS: 458 - 1266 / $2,446.40

BEST BETS: 63 - 109 / $202.30

Race 1

(1) TEXICAN N finds a very soft spot in his return to the races and while he won't offer much value the Tritton-trained veteran should get the job done. (5) A BETTOR HAT fits at this NW10000 class well and he does have some early speed to set up a good trip. (2) ELECTRIC WESTERN was a good second three back and this barn had a couple of winners the other night.

Race 2

(1) CHEYENNE JEFFREY is proven at this $40,000 claiming level where some others are not; obviously landing the best post adds to the appeal. (4) CANBEC KINGKAZIMIR had some very willing late pace last week and he's raced decently at this level in the past. (7) FIRST CLASS HORSE has early speed at his disposal which can help him overcome the post; watch the board for clues on this Banca trainee.

Race 3

(4) BADIX HANOVER was a good second in his local return and he's more than capable of taking this field wire-to-wire. (2) LETTUCEROCKTHEM A almost won last week at a huge price and the Dilloian trainee seems live again but that 2/1 morning line isn't that attractive. (1) CAVIART SKYLER was second best last out, draws best and this barn has been reasonably live of late.

Race 4

(1) GIVENUPDREAMING has been good in all recent efforts but has had some bad trips sprinkled in; Stratton should control these from this spot. (4) BLATANTLY BEST didn't fire with his best from the pocket last week after dropping to this level but he still remains a threat. (5) JOE JOE JOE has something to prove with this type but this barn has sent out nothing but live stock; consider.

Race 5

(4) AMERICAN BOY N raced well enough to win last week but was run down by a razor-sharp shipper; he should be forwardly placed again and could be good enough to take these the distance. (7) DR J HANOVER got stuffed in the pocket in his local return then was jammed up as the leader quit; he drops in class off that excusable effort. (1) MUSIC IS ART ships in sharp for live connections.

Race 6

(6) GRUDEN was able to make the lead with little trouble and rated kindly enough to score easily; no reason he can't repeat in this small but select field. (5) BOFFIN hikes to the top level and is in good enough form to make his presence felt. (4) DW'S NY YANK regained his stride two back with a nice win and the classy veteran sure knows how to get it done; obvious player.

Race 7

(6) GRATIAN HANOVER came up a touch short after tailing the winner's live cover last out but maybe the week off will do him some good; worth a serious look here. (3) PACING MAJOR N was a sharp and confident winner versus lesser last out and he's good enough to complete with these; friendly post assignment as well. (4) MICKY GEE N is forced out of the conditioned ranks after taking six straight and he gets a serious class test as well; we'll see how good the import is.

Race 8

(2) MACH IT SO has been really showing his back class recently and Bongiorno seems to get along well with him; inside post certainly doesn't hurt. (6) MILITARY MASTER A looks for three-peat in the Open; razor-sharp sort will be charging late. (1) GREAT VINTAGE is still more than capable with these and will be flashing speed from the rail.

Race 9

(6) PHOTOBOMBR HANOVER was nipped on the money last week but I liked the aggressive front-end effort; perhaps he can make it this week with similar tactics. (5) BLOOD LINE has solid early foot which always serves the Tatker trainee well, which it did in last week's winning effort. (3) MACHIAVELLI has been close up enough in his last two to suggest he can land another share having drawn inside his main competition.

Race 10

(4) MCSPIDEY was well-bet three back and was an easy winner then followed that up with two lost efforts from outside posts; watch the board tonight. (2) SCOTCH MCEWAN hasn't been at his best recently but this is his easiest spot in some time. (8) ANOTHER DAILY COPY could have a shot if Bartlett can hustle him away from the gate.

Race 11

(1) SUCH AN ANGEL gets class relief after tiring last week in a needed start and he's capable of taking these coast-to-coast. (2) ANDY RAY was aggressively handled last out and just faltered late; threat. (3) DAYSON never fired his best in that added-distance event last out but he should be more than capable with these.

Race 12

(2) ORILLIA JOE was no match for the top two last week but managed to salvage third; he should be sent to the lead tonight and can braven up from that spot. (3) STORMONT CZAR A returns to Yonkers for Team Buter off a needed start and he seems capable of improvement. (1) CAPOZZO was a tad overmatched in the Preferred; this is a better spot.
