Ladies and gentlemen, start your engines for the inaugural MGM Grand Prix Invitationals at Yonkers Raceway. Management at MGM Yonkers Raceway is excited to announce a pair of new events – one for older pacers and one for older trotters – that will offer three $75,000 legs each and $250,000 finals. A total of 16 horses on each gait will be invited with the top eight point-earners who have started in all three legs earning spots in the rich final. Dates and distances for each are below: MGM Grand Prix Trot Leg 1: October 11 (1 mile) Leg 2: November 1 (1 Mile) Leg 3: November 8 (1 1/16) $250K Final: November 15 (1 1/16) MGM Grand Prix Pace Leg 1: November 4 (1 mile) Leg 2: November 11 (1 Mile) Leg 3: December 9 (1 1/16) $250K Final: December 16 (1 1/16) Points for the final will be distributed on a 50-25-12-8-5 basis and all horses will race out of retention for the final.
