Race 1 - F&M NW2/25000LT Pace
(3) MILLWOOD BONNIE N departed New Zealand with two straight wins and makes her pari-mutuel debut here off a decent-enough qualifier in this wide-open race. I'll give her a try for good connections. (5) HURRIKANE LORI ANN draws a bit better tonight, sliding in from post seven to post five. Always seems to be on the board at this level, but hasn't been able to win yet. (7) SILK Z TAM closed nicely for a runner-up finish when last seen, but moves outside tonight. I could see her picking up the pieces again late to complete the ticket.
Race 2 - NW5000L5/12500CLM Trot
(4) MIGHTY NICKY couldn't stay flat back on 8-26, but he's always a threat at this bottom level and might offer some value coming off the miscue. (6) BOSS DU FOSSE had a good trip last out but couldn't catch the well-meant Clarion Hall. Probably the one to beat as he's in the best form. (2) WHITE PANTS FEVER lost all chance in her last when interfered with. Might see some more speed tonight from her from an inside draw.
Race 3 - NW2/25000LT Pace
(7) CHARACTER ART makes his return to the races tonight after a bit of a hiatus. Comes off a good-looking qualifier at Monticello, changes barns to Gillis, adds Sears, and looks like he showed plenty of early foot down at Harrah's Philly earlier in the year. (5) MAJOR ESCAPE went a nice mile on 8-29 at Yonkers, finishing a solid third in an Excelsior A division. A similar performance would fit well in this class. (8) TAP TAP TAP beat NW4's up at Tioga and ships down to Westchester tonight for trainer Jake Leamon. Got the worst of the draw, and might be too far back or have to work too hard to get to the front to be a win threat.
Race 4 - F&M NW4/50000LT Pace
(3) TAKE ABIT OF LIFE has been racing well for trainer Blake MacIntosh for an extended spell, draws well, and catches a field I think she can beat. (4) DIXIE STAR N fell just short after a pocket trip in another quality effort in her last effort. Certainly will get plenty of wagering attention with her razor-sharp form. (7) TELLAWOMAN terrorized the Indiana Fair Circuit this year and is now in the care of Scott DiDomenico. Lured Brennan off my top choice, but I'll try against from an outside draw.
Race 5 - NW5000L5/12500CLM Trot
(3) CYCLONE MAXIMUS won't offer as much value as he did on August 26 when he finished second at 17-1, but he has another good post to work with tonight and showed improvement in both starts since the last qualifier. I'll give him another chance. (7) CLARION HALL won when last at Yonkers on 8-26, then performed well against better at Pocono, finishing in te runner-up position. Does draw outside here, but his form merits serious respect. (1) TECH TITAN isn't in great form, but he gets an inside draw for the first time in a while locally and Bartlett hops back in the seat.
Race 6 - NW8/100000LT / NW6/75000LT Drawn Inside Pace
(4) ESCAPETOTHEBEACH was post compromised in the Messenger final but raced well enough to get a check and was closing through the lane. Been battling the best of the division for most of the summer and was a good second in a quick mile in his one overnight start at Harrah's Philly on 8-18. (8) CRUSADES gave Harrah's Philly one try but ran into some tough foes from an outside post. Is stuck outside again here for his Yonkers return, but has a win and a second in his last two local attempts. (5) HARAMBE DEO worked his way up to the NW7 level out at Scioto, and it looks like he should fit well here for a high-percentage barn.
Race 7 - F&M NW4/50000LT Pace - **$10K GTD Pick 5**
(1) UNSPOKEN PROMISE gets some welcome post relief tonight, moving from the seven to the pole and retained Zeron over another one in the race. (2) ART LECTURE is winless on the campaign but does keep catching the eye with late rallies. Shifts back inside on the gate tonight. (7) LOVERS COVE owns a win at this level, and it was from post eight, so even though she does draws outside for this attempt, that shouldn't be too much of a bother if you like her chances.
Race 8 - NW4/50000LT Pace
(6) BOYS TURN ran into the likes of Messenger elim winner Aflame Hanover in his debut for Allard at Pocono, so an off-the-board finish from an outside draw doesn't trouble me too much. Went some big miles on the half at Grand River. (5) NUMBERED ACCOUNT romped over some NW3 foes at Harrah's Philly in his second start for DiDomenico. His one local try wasn't as good, but perhaps the trainer found out something about him in that start. (2) GAMBLINGTERROR is obviously in great form, but he's had to settle for second in his last four tries, and I'll look elsewhere.
Race 9 - NW4/50000LT Pace
(7) HYSTERIA impressed even more in his second attempt at Yonkers than he did in his first, so even though he has an outside slot tonight, I'll land in his corner again. (2) LENWOODS REAL DEAL was no match for Hysteria on 8-26 but does have the post advantage on him, and it was a good effort in his first start on a half-mile oval. (1) GLENGARRY KNIGHT N had no shot from post eight last out, but was second to the red-hot Rock The Devil two back when he had an inside post like he does tonight.
Race 10 - F&M NW6/75000LT Pace
(3) MAY BRIDE HANOVER invades from Pennsylvania tonight and is now racing for Lance Hudson. Nothing wrong with her last three races, including a second two back to Sweet Lucy Lou, who exited that race to win a Pennsylvania Sire Stakes division at The Meadows. (1) GIRL'S GOT RHYTHM steps up tonight after two straight wins against NW4's, including a post eight victory on 8-19. (4) BULLVILLEKARLA is just one-for-27 in the win column this year, but she should be able to get a trip and close from this mid-pack starting position.
Race 11 - NW15000L5 / Winners of NW10000L5 Last Start Pace
(3) BILLY BADGER N closed strongly on August 31 but was too far back from post eight. Draws a much better post tonight with the three and will be closer to the action. (4) BLACK CHEVRON N also slides inside on the starting gate tonight after being stuck with post seven here and at Pocono. Definite threat. (5) MAKASI has been good in his two starts here in Westchester, including a rallying second to a heavy favorite in Doctor Butch last time out.
Race 12 - NW6/75000LT Pace
(2) ROCK THE DEVIL owns a program page that speaks for itself. He wins on the lead, he wins first-up, and he wins off cover like last time. I can't go against. (1) YEAHNAH had every chance to beat Rock The Devil on 8-26 as he had the jump on him, but got picked off late. Was Stratton's choice, but I can't see him turning the tables tonight. (5) MURROW BOY beat Excelsior A Series company here at Yonkers when last seen and closed well in his one race against NW6's from post eight before that.
