BEST BET-
TELLAWOMAN (8th)
SPOT PLAY-TAKE ABIT OF LIFE (9th)
Race 1 - F&M NW2/25000LT Pace
(8) EVAS SPORTS CZECH ships down from Canada and into the hot Lance Hudson barn. Bad draw, but she was able to overcome post nine at Woodbine Mohawk Park recently with sharp speed, so I'll hope she can do the same on the smaller track. (1) SILK Z TAM might be the one to beat as she shifts back to the rail and is good form with closing efforts to hit the ticket in two straight. (3) LIME TWIST has been racing well out of town but enters off an injured scratch, and that makes her a bit of a question mark.
Race 2 - NW5000L5/12500CLM Trot
(3) SUGAR TOP finally gets a better post tonight after having the seven and the eight in his two chances at this level. Hopefully that's enough to get him into the winner's circle. (1) MRS DARCY stayed flat last Monday and rolled to an off-the-pace win. Has the rail again to aid her chances. (2) BLUE SWAN also shifts back to the inside on the gate tonight after getting involved from post eight a week ago. Been good at this level for a spell.
Race 3 - NW2/25000LT Pace
(7) MACH WEST beat NW2 at Tioga and then NW4 at Pocono two and three back. Wasn't as good last time at Pocono, but I think he catches a group he can beat here for a high-percentage barn. (1) SO IT GOES owns a win (in dead-heat fashion) here at Yonkers and hasn't been bad since, including a second in a quick mile down at Harrah's Philadelphia. Gets a new driver tonight with Sears hopping in the bike. (5) ROGUE CHEDDAR ships back to Westchester tonight after a confidence-building win at Pocono. Holland opted off, but Stratton has piloted him previously.
Race 4 - F&M NW4/50000LT Pace
(4) MARYMACISBACK finished a very good second against NW6's here at Yonkers two back, so she gets a drop in class compared to that race and has hit the board in her prior tries at this level as well. (3) LILY HAMMER never got involved from post eight last time out, but she drew much better tonight, and goes to Sears with Siegelman opting for my top choice. (2) MI NINA BONITA has been racing in Ohio since the Lismore final back in May where she got a check. Won twice back in the spring over NW2's, with the second one being her seasonal mark.
Race 5 - NW3/25000LT Pace
(6) GAMBLINGTERROR exits the NW4 class tonight with a bunch of seconds in-a-row into this NW3 race. His form is great, and this looks like an easier spot than the ones he's been in. (4) TAP TAP TAP finished evenly last Monday after being out at every call. Drew pretty well tonight, and Brennan might opt for speed like the horse was showing at Tioga. (5) WILLIAM MCWHISKERS rolled home impressively from the pocket last Monday to beat NW2's. Stratton went with Gamblingterror, but he gets a fine replacement in Sears.
Race 6 - NW4/50000LT Pace
(3) YACHT WEEK had the misfortune of running into the dominant Hysteria last Monday, but still finished a good second. Drew post three again, and I'll look for Brennan to try and wire this field. (7) CAPTAIN MALICIOUS returns to Yonkers for the first time since making the Art Rooney final earlier this year. Raced well in NW4's in Pennsylvania and should fit this group. (4) BAD LOAD has a trainer change tonight with Jenn Bongiorno taking over. His race here on 8-19 wasn't bad, and then he was in against Hysteria the next time.
Race 7 - NW6/75000LT Pace - **$10K GTD Pick 5**
Speaking of (2) HYSTERIA, here he is. Steps up from NW4 to NW6 tonight, but he's been so impressive here thus far and has post relief too. (7) NUMBERED ACCOUNT is another one hiking up from NW4 to NW6, but he's been excellent in his last two for DiDomenico, including a wire-to-wire romp at Yonkers a week ago. (8) YEAHNAH finally gets away from the white-hot Rock The Devil but is saddled with post eight this time. Might have to settle for rallying for a piece of it.
Race 8 - F&M NW4/50000LT Pace
(4) TELLAWOMAN closed strongly in her debut for DiDomenico last week, just running out of track. Draws post four this week instead of the seven, and I will put her on top. (6) SHECANDANCE N backed up her victory over NW2's in her U.S. debut with a rallying score over NW4's last Monday. Have to respect that versatility, and it gives Zeron options. (5) ODDS ON NAPLES makes her first appearance at Yonkers tonight. Has been putting in good performances against NW4's and NW5's in Pennsylvania, so you have to think she'll be a contender.
Race 9 - F&M NW4/50000LT Pace
(4) TAKE ABIT OF LIFE wound up first-over in a pretty salty NW4 last Monday and was out-kicked. I think this is a softer bunch this time, and she's reunited with Brennan, who chose her over another in the race. (1) PASSPORT HANOVER hasn't won for Blackler yet, but she's in line for a good trip from the pole position. (3) SOMETHING REEL has been hampered by outside draws in all her recent starts here at Yonkers, but gets out of that predicament tonight. Finished strongly from the eight-hole a week ago.
Race 10 - F&M NW6/75000LT Pace
(7) PRAIRIE COUGAR is roaring right now with four straight wins. Already owns a victory against NW6's at Yonkers where she rolled right by from first-over and followed that up with scores at Pocono and Tioga. (4) GIRL'S GOT RHYTHM is also on a streak of three straight and kept her form going when hiking up to the NW6 class a week ago. (1) CORAL BELLA made a miscue when last seen locally but was second in a fast mile at Pocono on 9-1. Also has won over NW6's in Westchester previously.
Race 11 - NW15000L5/Winners of NW10000L5 in Last Start Pace
(7) LYONS STEEL won a leg of the Levy Series at Yonkers earlier this season and went some big miles at the Meadowlands also, but he's not the most consistent type. Going to hope the "good" version shows up tonight and Merton gets aggressive with him. (5) LOCKTON LUCK A made one good appearance here around a bunch of starts in the high levels up at Saratoga. Everything Hudson is sending out right now is live, so he definitely merits consideration. (4) CAVIART SKYLER keeps sliding down the class ladder in search of a winning spot. Dube gets to drive tonight, so I wouldn't be shocked to see him much closer to the action.
