Race 1
(5) PADUA HANOVER hasn't really fired in her brief career but she does drop to the Excelsior B level and hails from good trotting connections. (3) VIDEO CHIC and (2) IRISH KATE are certainly the most logical contenders in here.
Race 2
(1) PRECOCIOUS LADY went down the road from a similar spot last week at Saratoga and assuming she minds her manners early she may be tough to catch. (6) MUSCLE UP HAZEL was a nice upset winner last out and will try to be forwardly placed with Dan Daley. (3) UANDMETOGETHER AS hails from the good Lorentzon barn and driver Andrew McCarthy is more than capable.
Race 3
(3) MINNE CHEATUM picks up Sears tonight and the freshman trotter has a win already over this surface. (2) PITTSTOP EMERALD was Chris Lems' choice in here and she looks for three straight but has missed some time off the sick scratch. (6) LOTTA seems to have regressed after a nice placing four back versus NYSS competition; clearly the Czernyson trainee has ability.
Race 4
(2) BARN BLISS looks like another good one from trainer Steven Pratt and she picks up Jeff Gregory tonight. (3) SOUTHWIND COOKIE has done nothing wrong in her brief career for Svanstedt and is the main threat to the top choice. (6) GRAMMY WINNER broke upon hiking to this 'A' division but her prior two were solid wins.
Race 5
(1) SHAZAMM has raced very well in her two half-mile appearances and she gets Stratton back in the bike tonight. (2) WEEKEND WIT BIGD has looked much better recently facing Excelsior 'A' types and she should be close up throughout. (7) ORBITAL AS has behaved herself since adding the hobbles and she could be a late threat at a big price.
Race 6
(3) RED REIGN chased willingly last week to be second best and she gets a notable switch to Brian Sears here for the Charlie Norris barn. (2) I'MWHYGODMADEGIRLS seems to be progressing nicely for the Burke barn; big threat. (4) WORTHYOURATTENTION was a front-end winner in her lone Yonkers appearance.
Race 7
(2) PLUNGE BLUE CHIP is clearly the most accomplished in here but the missed time is a concern. (4) PERFECT SUMMER K broke last out but her prior starts with Sears in the bike were good. (1) A THING GOING ON returns to NYSS action off three solid scores in the Excelsior.
Race 8
(4) MYIDEALSON N was never in a good position in his last local appearance but he followed that up with a nice win out of town; Blumenfeld trainee can keep on his winning ways. (1) THEATER MAJOR moves to a new barn and assuming he keeps his form he'll be a major player. (2) TREASURE MACH draws well enough and looks next best.
Race 9
(4) CHERRY PEEP added the hobbles and has looked much, much better for Dan Daley; worth an upset try. (5) LUCKY AVA jogged in her lone local appearance for Svanstedt. (3) WHITE CHEETAH hasn't done anything wrong in her brief career.
Race 10
(4) BETTER B ROLLING has jogged in two straight at this level and gets a free ride; he'll be odds-on to take another. (1) MR TODAY closed crisply in his local debut and he's clearly the best possible upsetter. (3) BIG THINKER was a decent second last week at Saratoga.
Race 11
(3) LUCKY RAINBOW was the easiest of winners in a local NYSS test four back and she does have a post edge here on her main rivals. (7) SUPERGIRL RILEY is a neck shy of being perfect in the NYSS. (6) FURY ROAD is one of two in here for Svanstedt and they both seem to have a legit chance.
Race 12
(3) DAKOTA SLEEK shipped from Minnesota to Pocono and promptly took care of business at a nice price; mare could be some value here in her local debut. (1) QUEEN TO ME has just been going evenly for Alagna but this looks like a better spot. (4) WINDY SPORT was disappointing in her local debut for Casie Coleman; still must be considered.
