Yonkers: Monday 8/28 Analysis

Matt Rose|Aug 25, 2017

Best Bet: BETTER B ROLLING (3rd)

Spot Play: PACING MAJOR N (12th)

MEET STATS: 328 - 937 / $1,802.20

BEST BETS: 46 - 80 / $154.40

Race 1

(2) DOUBLE DOWN JO added Lasix and qualified back very nicely; Andrew Harris trainee could finally be ready for action. (5) LEGIO X EQUESTRIS finished well from too far back last out and I wouldn't be shocked to see Brennan try to get her in the game earlier; big player. (1) MAJOR MASTERPIECE raced well in an Excelsior test last month and she draws best here.

Race 2

(5) DEJAROVER was outgamed late in a stellar eight-hole try upon arrival; a similar effort takes this. (2) ODYSSEY BLUE CHIP has just been racing evenly of late but seems to be in a good spot here for Svanstedt. (3) CRITICAL MASS raced decently here last month with Holland driving and he seems capable of landing a share.

Race 3

(3) BETTER B ROLLING dominated similar last week and will be a very short price looking to repeat. (4) MAJOR HUMOR was driven aggressively from the eight hole versus the top choice last out and the post relief can help. (2) WHATS HIS NAME should be live for a smaller share.

Race 4

(1) GO FIND OUT added Lasix last out for Allard and was a strong two-move winner; filly gets a free ride at this level and can take another. (4) FEELIN RED HOT rarely wins but she has early speed which should set her up with a good trip. (2) WINDY SPORT invades from Canada for Casie Coleman and may awaken with the change in scenery.

Race 5

(3) NORMANDY BEACH could not overcome a tough two-move trip upon arrival for Burke but he held decently; Brennan figures to fire the front tonight and seems capable of taking these the distance. (1) SHARK CONTROL faces some tougher rivals but he's been racing well with some bad luck. (2) NORTHWEST YANKEE has Sears driving again and is fast enough to keep up here.

Race 6

(3) SOUTHWIND AVANTI was a Hambo Oaks finalist and she has a blowout win already over the Yonkers surface. (2) TECH TITAN was a game uncovered winner last out and now Svanstedt handles the lines tonight. (6) SPLASHED was an impressive winner last out breaking his maiden at Philly; threat.

Race 7

(1) DRUNKONAPLANE saw his modest winning streak snapped last week as (2) OBSCENE BLUE CHIP sailed by but he held well for a board spot; I'll give him another chance. The latter was much better in his second local start and clearly he can repeat. (6) AIR STRIKE has talent but has hasn't done much in his 3-year-old campaign; maybe the change in scenery helps.

Race 8

(2) MARQUESA SEELSTER exits stakes competition and finds a pretty soft field of NW6 types; good post is an added bonus. (1) WINNERS OVER doesn't win often but will be close up from this spot. (7) PIRINEA'S PRINCESS looks for two straight but it won't be as easy tonight.

Race 9

(5) MAGRITTE raced very well here two back for a board spot at a big price and he certainly seems in with a shot tonight. (8) BEACH BOOGIE has been razor-sharp and is the one to beat despite the eight hole. (3) ROUGH ODDS has a post edge on his main rivals.

Race 10

(5) TWINKLE was a down-the-road odds-on winner last out and the mare can certainly repeat. (1) FROG POND PRINCESS hasn't won in some time and did tail off a bit last week but she will be close up again from this spot. (4) ANGELS ROCKN PINK returns locally and seems to be better classified; threat.

Race 11

(4) SANTIAGO STYLE has had some moderate success versus these conditioned types and there are certainly no standouts in here. (2) SUNKEN TREASURE has rallied nicely in 3 of her last 4 starts. (6) VORACITY charged home to pick off the rest last week and almost got to the tiring winner.

Race 12

(2) PACING MAJOR N never had a realistic chance last out but the post relief should make all the difference tonight. (3) ARCHANGEL THREE was a strong winner here two back versus a bit lesser. (4) NEVER SAY NEVER N put it all together last week and scored but he loses his favorite driver tonight.
