Race 1
(1) ROYALPINE PRINCESS won an Excelsior A race here last month and now returns at the lower level; Smedshammer trainee is clearly the most logical here. (2) MORGANSLOVIN DREAM has speed and is well-mannered. (3) HEAVEN ON CREDIT was a decent second to the top choice last out for his relatively unknown pilot.
Race 2
(4) SWEATNTEARS is another Smedshammer trainee who drops to the 'B' level and this filly seems capable of improvement. (2) WHISPER OF GILINA has looked better with the trotting hobbles added. (3) DIVINE WIND already has three wins in her brief career.
Race 3
(5) TIVO HANOVER has looked good since moving to the Harris barn and he can be excused for his most recent effort where he was caught up in a big middle half; gelding clearly deserves top billing. (2) BREATHLESS YANKEE took three straight at Monti and deserves a chance to race for much more money. (4) DENVER SEELSTER raced decently in his local debut.
Race 4
(3) DEW CAN DEW has been consistent in her brief career and seems like the safest play in here. (1) TRAVEL RIDGE gets Jeff Gregory in the bike, which could help. (5) LINDY IN THE SKY was second best versus similar two back.
Race 5
(6) EXOTIC DIAMOND won a NYSS split in her career debut but has regressed a bit since then; filly perked up upon dropping to this Excelsior 'A' level. (2) BARN TEASE was an erratic yet game winner here last month; needs a good steer from her pilot. (7) SONG CHAPTER figures to be forwardly placed off the gate.
Race 6
(2) ROYAL LADY was a pretty sharp winner in her NY debut and Charlie Norris gets the return catch drive for the ageless Chuck Sylvester. (1) LIFETIME CREDIT shows a couple of miscues starting from the rail but her other races have been super. (7) GLOBAL PAGEANT added the hobbles for her last start and jogged; big threat.
Race 7
(2) AMERICANFIREWATER didn't get involved last week but was a good third two back to a couple of very sharp rivals. (1) ODDS ON DELRAY was totally out of it from the eight hole last week and wasn't overly impressive in winning the start prior; proceed with caution at a short price. (5) TREMENDOUS PLAY seems best of the rest from this spot.
Race 8
(3) WINNDEVIE is perfect in her brief career for Smedshammer, including an easy win here last month. (2) QUINCY BLUE CHIP is a neck shy of also being perfect and she gets the post edge on her rivals. (4) HANNA DREAMGIRL was close up in the Doherty at The Meadowlands on Hambo day but note she broke in her lone local appearance.
Race 9
(4) AMAL HALL has done little wrong for Team Miller and she's clearly the most logical winner here though there won't be much value. (3) WITH OUT A DOUBT just missed in a local start here and she picks up Tetrick. (5) TINA ROCKS gets Dube in the bike for the Svanstedt barn, an angle that's worked here in the past.
Race 10
(1) CONWAY KELLYANNE was a big winner here last month at 19/1 and it seems she can be excused for that last effort caught through quick splits; Norris trainee can repeat here. (6) SENSIBILITY has had some bad luck with the post draws but has been putting in good efforts; Stratton drives. (4) QISS ME BLUE CHIP hails from Team Zeron; must respect.
Race 11
(4) BLACK CHEVRON N broke in his most recent qualifier but if you go back to his first effort the talent is clearly there; Bartlett drives. (2) NICOL SHARD N is another Down-Under impost making his U.S. debut and from a good post. (8) MAJOR AUTHORITY got bottomed out in NYSS competition; new addition with the Bongiorno barn should fit well here.
Race 12
(5) SUDDENLY SAM steps up to face a notch tougher but was impressive in victory last week. (1) NOX VEGAS BLUE CHIP has been racing well but is still winless on the season. (4) YOUCANIKNOW has hit the ticket in four of five local starts.
