Race 1 - F&M NW2/25000LT Pace
(3) MISS REAL IDEAL has beaten the NW2 class here locally before, scoring on 6-24, and was victorious last out at Tioga. (2) LOVE AMERICANSTYLE returns to overnight competition after knocking heads with the Excelsior "A" Series fillies lately. Her one win this year came at Yonkers, and something that like effort back on June 28 would definitely put her in the hunt. (1) PRIVACY HANOVER hasn't raced as well as some of the other Blackler/Millar Farms fillies, but she was second to Miss Real Ideal in that race back on June 24 at this class.
Race 2 - NW5000L5/12500CLM Trot
(3) VALLEY GLIDER enjoyed a pocket trip last time but only managed an even finish. I'll hope Marohn Jr. can work out the same journey and the veteran campaigner will have a little more trot tonight. (6) MUZZY'S MUSCLES has a noteworthy driver change tonight, going from the amateur races and owner Joe Faraldo steering him to Jason Bartlett. (1) DRAZZMATAZZ raced really well last out at the Meadowlands, finishing second to a streaking Cardinale. He has made breaks in his last two here at Yonkers, though, so I'm treading against.
Race 3- F&M NW2/25000LT Pace
(5) PRAIRIE COUGAR ships in from Pocono for a try at Yonkers. She beat the NW2 class over there on July 1, then found the NW4 group a little too difficult. Slides back down to the NW2 group here and looks like a contender. (8) SOUTHWIND RAPUNZEL got run down but Campus Queen last Monday and had to settle for second. I imagine she'll have to go forward again from the outside post. (2) HURRIKANE LORI ANN has met up with a couple well-meant winners in her last two, including Southwind Rapunzel on 7-29. Draws well again tonight.
Race 4 - NW2/25000LT Pace
(6) JUST WAVE GOODBYE met up with the in-form Gamblingterror twice and then had no chance from post eight in his last three, all for Allard. I think he catches an easier group here tonight and Dube can go forward with him rather than taking back. (3) ROGUE CHEDDAR is another one who seems overdue for a better performance, and it might come tonight in his third start back off the short layoff. He has won at this level before. (2) TWIN B WATCHING was much better in his second effort for Banca, closing from off the pace. Switches back to an inside post tonight.
Race 5 - NW2/25000LT Pace
(1) SO IT GOES raced well in his two Yonkers appearances for Mike Simons and now has a trainer change that I'm sure everybody will notice, going to Bongiorno. (2) THE GREAT BUZZ N heads down from Saratoga in razor-sharp form, and he does have the advantage of being a 4-year-old against a bunch of 3-year-olds. (3) FOREVER FAV has picked up four straight second-place finishes, so you can't knock his performances, but I have to slot him in underneath my top two.
Race 6 - NW9/100000LT Pace
(6) STAR COMMANDER N closed stoutly last Monday, getting up for third. I'm going to hope some to the inside mix it up in front of him and he can use that kick again to charge by this time. (4) DISMISSAL SLIP turned in a nice effort a week ago to score the win. Loses Brennan tonight, but gets Sears, which should suit him just fine. (5) IDEAL FLIP was unable to make the lead back on July 29, but put in a nice first-over performance to finish second. I could see something similar happening tonight.
Race 7 - NW5000L5/12500CLM Trot - $10K GTD Pick 5
(1) ROSE RUN SYDNEY is a new face here, coming in from Northfield and into the Travis Alexander barn. Made her way up to the open level out there, and so I have to think the bottom level condition class should be a good fit for her. (6) FERRISWHEEL JUNKIE has raced well in two straight, just missing by a whisker back on July 29. Probably needs some pace to chase. (8) MANOFMANYIMAGES drops to the bottom here and is a threat, even from the outside and coming off the sick scratch. Picks up Bartlett.
Race 8 - F&M NW4/50000LT Pace
(5) PASSPORT HANOVER makes her Yonkers debut tonight off a nice win at Pocono last time out. That was just NW2, but there was nothing wrong with her effort against NW4 types at the Meadowlands, and the winner of that race, Trillions Hanover, came back to finish a great second in the Shady Daisy on Hambletonian Day. (1) PONDER THE ODDS got on a nice roll down at Harrah's Philadelphia, except for two back when she got mixed up in a speed duel. Reunited with Lachance tonight, and he drove her to two straight easy wins on 6-7 and 6-21. (2) ART LECTURE exits that Trillions Hanover race at the Meadowlands my top pick was in on July 26. Has shown speed at Yonkers before and might again from a good draw.
Race 9 - F&M NW4/50000LT Pace
(5) CAMPUS QUEEN showed her form spree from out at Running Aces was no fluke, winning from the pocket last week. Steps up to NW4 tonight, but I'll take her right back. (1) GIRL'S GOT RHYTHM put in a nice final quarter over at Pocono in her last race and invades tonight. Has shown big speed before, so she might control the race from the rail. (2) TOPVILLE OLIVIA appears to have been sold since last seen and now races for trainer Joe Pavia Jr. Won over the NW4's here two back.
Race 10 - NW4/50000LT Pace
(3) CAPTAIN MCKEE cruised to an authoritative win over the NW2's on 7-29. Takes the hike up to NW4 tonight, but that was an impressive performance, and he retained Sears. (1) GAMBLINGTERROR has had to settle for second in two straight races since joining the NW4 class, and I think he'll have to settle for that spot again tonight. (7) CENTURY FERRARI showed some late interest at this level on 7-22 and has won this year at Yonkers, taking a victory over Excelsior "A" Series foes on 6-27.
Race 11 - F&M NW6/76000LT Pace
(2) SEZANA N shifts to an inside post this time, and although she hasn't had much success at this level yet, I think it might come tonight. Gets a new set of hands in the bike with Bartlett steering, and maybe he can move her forward some. (4) LIBERTY ROSE N showed a nice close last week from post seven and draws better tonight. (5) TEQUILA PARTY joined the Oakes barn recently and finished second and first in her two tries over at Pocono. This is a bit of a step up the ladder.
Race 12 - NW6/75000LT Pace
(2) WATERWAY didn't get to race last Monday, but it was a transportation scratch and seemingly not anything wrong with him. Stormed home on 7-29 for a nice second and he moves inside this time. (4) LYONS JOHNNYJNR switched barns to Jim King Jr. for his last race and won over NW4's at Pocono. Did make a start here earlier this year as he tried the Art Rooney eliminations. (5) LYON'S IMAGE was pretty good in a switch to this level a week ago, finishing fourth to a good one in Dancin Lou.
