Race 1 - F&M NW2/25000LT Pace
(3) LOVERS COVE has run into a couple well-meant fillies since winning back on June 10. Retained Bartlett tonight and moves in a couple slots on the gate. (4) SULKY QUEEN just lasted on the lead in the switch to the Bongiorno barn on 6-28. Gives this NW2 class a try this time and looks like she should fit well. (6) COROMANDEL impressed a week ago with a solid victory. Sears is not available tonight, so Dube hops in the bike. Does draw worse this Monday, going from post two to post six.
Race 2 - Excelsior "A" Series 2YO C&G Trot
(3) ALL RISE closed in nicely in the last quarter for second up at Tioga and got a kind draw here in his first pari-mutuel effort on a half-mile track. (4) HOBBS drops from the Sire Stakes down to the Excelsior A Series here, which should attract plenty of attention. (2) EBENEZER'S JUSTICE ran into a buzzsaw named Book Seven up at Tioga and was no match for him, but was a creditable fourth. I expect him to be on the lead with Daley usually aggressive.
Race 3 - NW2/25000LT Pace
(5) NOTWITHOUTAFIGHT returns to the overnight ranks after a couple appearances in the Excelsior "A" Series. Gained ground for a 4p3 on June 27 here at Yonkers, and any repeat of that mile or his win up at Saratoga on 5-26 would be ideal to put him in the winner's circle. Brent Holland's choice of two in the race. (4) COOL YOUR HEELS missed last week when scratched but gets right back in the box. Been racing well against the likes of the red-hot Rock The Devil in recent weeks. (8) JOJO'S PLACE converted a pocket trip into his first career win last Monday. Gets another chance to race at the NW2 level but shifts out to post eight.
Race 4 - Excelsior "A" Series 2YO C&G Trot
(4) CHERRY RED got bet down at Tioga but broke after the start. Trainer Ray Schnittker has a good way with trotters and hopefully he'll stay flat tonight for driver Mark MacDonald and score at a bit of a price. (3) NIMBLE KID cruised around Tioga for an easy win and draws well here. Probably the one they'll be chasing. (7) ALL PROFIT trotted in for a solid second in his division at Tioga but is stuck with post six tonight.
Race 5 - New York Sire Stakes 2YO C&G Trot
(3) BOOK SEVEN steps up from the Excelsior "A" Series to the sire stakes tonight, but he was probably the most impressive winner in either grouping at Tioga, and I'll look for him to handle the change just fine. (5) CHAPTIAMA was a good second behind an impressive winner in Third Shift at Tioga and could certainly improve. (2) BERKERY J is another one who was a runner-up at Tioga and will be looking for a bit more tonight on the shift to the half-mile track.
Race 6 - New York Sire Stakes 2YO C&G Trot
(6) TAKE THE CREDIT did all the pace-making in his sire stakes division at Tioga but weakened in the lane. Looks like he should be able to get well-positioned, even from the outside, and hopefully his speed will carry longer. (3) BOURBON EXPRESS joins the sire stakes after an easy win in the Excelsior "A" Series at Tioga and draws a good post. Big chance here. (5) SAYLOR received some wagering attention at Tioga but made an early break. Hopefully he'll stay flat tonight with Marohn Jr. driving again.
Race 7 - NW4/50000LT Pace
(1) ROCK THE DEVIL goes from NW2 to NW4 tonight, but hasn't lost this year and romped in his two local appearances. An imposing presence from the pole position. (7) FABRICE HANOVER nearly made the Hempt final, then had no shot from post nine in the consolation. Owns a NW4 win here at Yonkers and changes barns back to Leamon tonight. (4) FOLLOWYOURDESTINY hasn't done anything wrong in his tries against the NW4 class, including a solid, rallying second on June 24.
Race 8 - F&M NW4/50000LT Pace
(4) CORAL BELLA responded to some equipment changes last Monday with a sharp-closing third. Draws another mid-pack post tonight and might be a little closer to the action. (4) MEGHAN LYNN just missed in the sire stakes on June 28 and is likely to receive the bulk of the wagering attention tonight, especially if you go back to her easy win over NW4's back on 5-6. (6) TRIPLE DIP got picked off in the lane in her debut for Allard a week ago. Might show some improvement in her second start for him with Dube going into the bike.
Race 9 - F&M NW6/75000LT Pace
(5) LA ALWAYS AMARTINI seems to be rounding into top form by posting two straight good races, especially last week when she was a closing second to the classy She's Pukka N. Let's go with her and hope she retains some of her recent value. (4) SCWARTZ BROS BEATY looked full of pace in the pocket behind She's Pukka N but seemed to take a bad step going into the far turn after pulling and couldn't go forward. Holland takes the driving assignment back. (2) BULLVILLEKARLA has been a consistent face at this level for quite a while and draws her first inside post in several tries.
Race 10 - NW6/75000LT Pace
(2) IDEAL FLIP took advantage of a confident front-end steer by Dunn to deliver last week and gets to stick at the NW6 level tonight. Drawn inside again also. (1) DISMISSAL SLIP drops from NW8 back to NW6 where he won two back and got the inside post to boot. (5) ROLLWITHPAPAJOE should get plenty of support coming off an easy New York Sire Stakes win here but does move outside and got beat when last seen at the NW6 class on 6-10.
Race 11 - NW5000L5/12500CLM Trot
(1) UNDICI raced well on the drop last Monday with a closing third. Shifts inside to the pole this week and owns a recent win, which is more than can be said for the rest of these. (3) GLOBAL REVOLUTION has been facing better than this and gets some post relief tonight, but will definitely need a wake-up call. (7) ROSSINI was the favorite at this level on 6-24 but broke stride. Rallied for a good third from this same post back on June 10.
Race 12 - NW8/110000LT Pace
(4) BENHOPE RULZ N switches classes back to NW8 after one post eight try against the NW30000L5 group. Solid second when last seen at this level on June 17 and gets a better post tonight. (2) ROCKAPELO also gets post relief tonight after a good speed try from post six last Monday. (1) DANCIN DRAGON worked out a perfect trip a week ago and won easily. Draws the pole this week and retained Dunn.
