BEST BETS: 15 - 31 / $42.70 (-$19.30)
SPOT PLAYS: 8 - 31 / $41.40 (-$20.60)
BEST BET-
MICHELON'S FILLY (12th)
SPOT PLAY-I CHOOSE YOU (6th)
Race 1 - F&M NW2/25000LT Pace
(1) SOUTHWIND RAPUNZEL ships down from Canada after struggling at Woodbine Mohawk Park recently. Blackler has done nice work with horses entering his barn from up north, though, and she certainly catches a beatable group from the rail. I'll give her a swing. (2) HURRIKANE LORI ANN turned in a good effort against the streaking Something Reel last Monday with a rallying second and gets to move inside tonight. (3) FIFI TINKERBELL is another one coming in off a runner-up to Something Reel at this level, hers coming back on July 15.
Race 2 - NW5000L5/12500CLM Trot
(3) VALLEY GLIDER makes his third start back off a lengthy layoff tonight after a nice rallying fourth a week ago. Retains the same post three, and although he does lose Zeron, I'll opt to go his way. (1) MRS DARCY switches to the bottom condition class from NW8 tonight. Raced well through June against NW6 types, and if she goes that kind of mile tonight, she'll be very tough to beat. (4) RED HOT HERBIE has not shown much since returning so far but drops another level and receives post relief.
Race 3 - NW2/25000LT Pace
(1) GLENGARRY KNIGHT N flashed some nice speed in the two qualifiers down at Harrah's Philadelphia, rallying well both times. Gets the rail draw for his U.S. debut and has a sharp trainer in Eric Ell. (3) CAPTAIN MCKEE invades from Pennsylvania for the Alagna barn. Did beat NW2 at Pocono last month but was denied twice against NW3's at Harrah's Philly, and I'll try to knock him off. (4) JOJO'S PLACE returns to the NW2 class after a good second in an Excelsior Series A try up at Vernon Downs. Both his efforts here at Yonkers earlier this month were very good.
Race 4 - NW2/25000LT Pace
(2) TWIN B WATCHING got an acclimating mile over the track back on July 8. Hasn't been seen since, but I'll assume Banca has done some tinkering on him and we'll see a good effort tonight. Bartlett stays on as well. (3) SURPRISING CREDIT turned in a big first-over effort last week before being rebuffed by Gamblingterror. Gets a little better post tonight and maybe he can get a clean trip. (6) THE MIGHTY MARNER couldn't negotiate the first turn successfully in his Yonkers debut, but he comes right back, and he's another who might have an equipment change to watch for.
Race 5 - NW5000L5/12500CLM Trot
(3) LUCKY PROMESSES comes back to New York tonight after winning two straight in a series up in Quebec. Most of the rest of these have been struggling in recent weeks, so the fact she's found the winner's circle is enough to back her. (4) FERRISWHEEL JUNKIE showed a little late interest in the slop last Monday, getting up for third and slides inside a couple slots on the gate for this effort. (1) CYCLONE MAXIMUS made a break last week, but can definitely beat these on his best night. Reunited with Brennan.
Race 6 - F&M NW4/50000LT Pace
(7) I CHOOSE YOU was the favorite at this class back on July 15 and was a good second, then rallied belatedly in her next start at Pocono. With her outside draw tonight and Bartlett going elsewhere, I'm hoping she'll offer some value. (6) TAKE ABIT OF LIFE hasn't been getting much respect at the windows but has been racing decently. Made up ground well through the mile in her last effort at Pocono. (1) UNSPOKEN PROMISE should take plenty of attention from the rail as she's been performing well against tougher foes than the ones she meets tonight.

Race 7 - F&M NW4/50000LT Pace - **$10K GTD Pick 5**
(8) TEE'S SWEET RYDE is stuck in the same outside post she had last Monday, but I'm hoping Brennan will be aggressive with her anyway and be able to get her a spot near or on the front. She did overcome post nine to win at The Meadows. (3) TOPVILLE OLIVIA backed up her win on 7-7 at Pocono with another one here on July 15. Brennan stays on my top pick, leaving this one in the capable hands of Brian Sears. (6) ROCKNROLL ANNIE was rolling home in the final quarter last week, closing well. Might get some pace to chase again tonight and is drawn well for a cover trip.
Race 8 - NW4/50000LT Pace
(6) LIVE LIKE A BOSS ended up with post eight a week ago and never got involved. Receives some post relief tonight, and should be closer to the action. Solid second to the classy Dancin Lou on July 15. (1) GAMBLINGTERROR steps up tonight but was very, very impressive in both wins at the NW2 level. The class hike is offset somewhat by the rail draw, also. (2) IMAGEOFAROCKER did well to pick up a third last week, and I can see him ending up with a similar trip and result in this spot.
Race 9 - NW4/50000LT Pace
(3) ROCK THE DEVIL wasn't on the front like I thought he'd be last Monday but scored an impressive off-the-pace win nonetheless, and I'll hop right back into his corner tonight. (6) ARTIE'S IDEAL finds his way back to overnight company after another sire stakes start on July 18. Nice mile in the NYSS here at Yonkers on 6-27 that would make him competitive against these. (5) BLANK CANVAS also exits the sire stakes. Been moving around tracks lately, but was the favorite at this level on July 1 in Westchester when he finished third.
Race 10 - NW6/75000LT Pace
(1) REVELRY looks like he's been keeping classy company down at Harrah's Philadelphia and treks north tonight. Bartlett opted off, but he lands Scott Zeron, who has driven him before. (2) MR PROFETA raced well last Monday with a sharp-closing third. Draws a better post tonight and we'll see if he can improve again. (7) WATERWAY is another one trying Yonkers tonight for Alagna. Has performed well against NW5 types down at Harrah's Philly, but will probably need a trip from the outside post.
Race 11 - NW8/104000LT / NW6 or 75000LT Drawn Inside Pace
(5) RONNIES ROCKET rallied strongly last Monday for a good second behind Dancin Lou. Seems like an easier group at this level tonight, and I'll look his way. (7) WHOS BETTER had some interest from second-over in the same race as my top pick. Hasn't been racing as well since that sick scratch on 6-17, but hopefully he keeps progressing. (4) IDEAL FLIP led and weakened in the stretch last week. Really didn't see much of an excuse, and I'll go elsewhere tonight.
Race 12 - F&M NW6/75000LT Pace
(2) MICHELON'S FILLY met up with a tough foe in So Awesome a week ago and was a good third. I don't see any fillies or mares in here who are of that caliber, so I'll look for her to pick up her first win of 2019 in this spot. (4) ANOTHER BEACH DAY also gets away from So Awesome tonight and could show a better effort. (1) TWIN B SONYA got the job done against the NW4 class last Monday and now takes a class jump. Did retain Bartlett and has the pole position.
